Lucky smiles and presses her hand to her stomach, staunching the flow of blood. For the second time in less then 5 minutes, Lucky heals herself.

Drain Test

Leaving Lucky against the wall, Bennet charges up the stairs. The sounds of gun firing have stopped by now. Lucky realizes that the stronge void she id feeling at the moment isn't from blood loss. The fire elemetnal has been disrupted.

The break only lasts a moment. Lucky hears a crash, followed by more gunfire, then a small explosion, like one of Bennet's microgrenades going off.

She continues pouring her spell in to her self as the fire fight continues above.

After almost thrirty seconds, Bennet's call comes over the commlink. He's still shooting above. The return fire sounds like some sort of machine gun.

The spell cast, Lucky staggers to her feet. The healing helped to heal the worst of her wounds but the pain and tenderness remain. Thinking ahead this time, Lucky casts an Armor spell.

Lucky's commlink beeps and the AR flashes Bennett's name. Lucky taps the connect button.

Third floor. Slitchi s makign a run for it. I thhink seh's headed for the garage roof. I'm at the stair well door, pinned down by a steel lynx wit ha machine gun and a box of ammo. Cut her off below.

The heavy weapon's fire continues. It's a good thing this isn't a part of town the NOPS cares about.

Spirit of Water, slow the woman's progress! Do not let her leave this building!
Lucky takes off in a run, calling Red to her as she does. As soon as Red catches up, Lucky urges him on.
Red, take me to the woman. Go, now!

Red bounds up the stairs. Throug his AR "Eyes" program, she sees him streak past a crouched Bennetm taking a slug in the hip for his troubles. There's no way she can move through that field of fire that quickly.

I have her master. She is struggling and difficult to contain.

Red, bring the woman to me! Now!
Lucky heads for the stairwell, making her way to Bennett.

Red races forward, and grabs the dwarf woman by the ankle joint. The cybered pitbull's jaws lock down on the bone, and begins dragging the woman back to the stairwell. The woman screams.

As Lucky is running up stairs, she sees the dog headed straight for the auto fire. The dwarf sees it to, and manages to command the lynx to stop firing. Even in her situation, she's apprently smart enough to know that turning the drone on the dog is suicide. Heavy machine guns aren't exactly known for pin point accuracy.

Lucky aims her Ares at the woman's head and commands the Water Spirit to manifest itself on the physical plane.
Might make the woman think again about trying anything. Of course, the jaws around her ankle might do that as well.
Lucky waits till Red has the woman all the way out of the room, not taking a chance that she might activate the Lynx as a suicide move.
Once she's out, Lucky looks to Bennett.

Seeing the lynx sitting quietly, Bennet fires two microgrenades directly in to it first. There's a terrifc explosion that takes out art of the fourth, third ,and second floor, and blasts debris back in to the stair well with them.

Better safe than sorry. Of course.

He does the zip tying him self, and also installs a jack stopper. He takes the woman's commlink next ,and switches it off, then pats her down for weaapons, removing a small pistol and a kinfe.

You're probably going to want me to carry her. How are you holding up?

Bennet simply grabs the dwarf woman by the back of her shirt, hauls her up, and tosses her over his shoulder.

I'll live. You? Lucky follows Bennett as he shoulders the screaming woman. Looking down at Red, Lucky scratches his head.
Good dog. Gonna get you some treats when we get home. Lucky picks up the womans' commlink and slips it into her pocket.
Spirit, what happened to the two humans? Are they dead?

One human is alive, two are dead. One dead one is heavily burned. The other was shot by the living human.

I'll live. That explosion might be enough to bring NOPS here. We should go.

Bennet pulls out a small container of lighter fluid and begins spraying it over his blood on the ground.

Let me, this will be more effective. Lucky stands in the center of the room and casts both Sterilize and Clean, repeating the castings until the room is clean of blood.
Moving out of the room, Lucky does the same thing at every blood spatter she comes to. Once she and Bennett reach the garage, Lucky indicates the woman's car.
Should we take hers? It's already in the garage...

Lucky eyes the woman speculatively. Gonna have to heal her soon to make sure she doesn't bleed out before we finish with her.

Take her car if you want it. It could certainly get a good price if nothign else. Just make sure to get the code form her , and put her in first to make sure nothing is going to blow up. Toss he in the trunk. I'll need you to start your truck, since I assume you don't want to leave it here.

bennet goes back in side to get the building "taken care of".

Lucky looks down at the woman he tossed on the ground. She cocks her head to the side and kneels down beside her, Red on the other side.

She says it quickly and without hesitation. Bennet's words were loud and clear. She knows they're not playing games.By their tone, the pair obviosuly isn't new to this sort of thing either.

Lucky nods and stands up, pulling the woman along behind her. She lifts the womans' hand and uses it to input the code. When the door opens she nods and turns back to the woman.
Is the ignition code the same? Am I going to have any nasty surprises waiting for me when I get into this car?

Ignition code is the door code backwards. You put it in the same way, it arms a charge.No tricks. I kill you , I still have that other guy to answer to. And your dog.

Lucky nods and picks the woman up again, dragging her back to the back of the car. She stands over her for a moment, debating. I heal this slitch, she can try and make a run for it. I don't heal her she could pass out from blood loss and then where am I? I'll make it a low force spell. That should take care of it.

Lucky finishes her casting and kneels down beside the woman, stripping a piece of her shirt off to bind the wound. She opens the trunk and looks inside. Seeing all the junk, Lucky sighs. She tosses the shotgun, medkit, road flares and anything else that can be used to jimmy open a trunk or call for help into the backseat. Lifting the trunk carpeting she also tosses out the jack for the spare tire. Eyeing the tarp, Lucky smiles. Handy that. She lays the tarp out and looks down at the woman.
Picking her up, she pushes her into the trunk, keeping one hand on her head to avoid slamming it against something.
Wouldn't do for her to get a concussion or get knocked unconcious now.
Lucky looks at the woman again. Is there a code to get out of the garage or is it a pressure switch?

Big deals are always handled by Blake or Eve. They usually send me to swap for guns. If it's something else, they send Garret or Toma. That fire elemental just killed Toma.

The meets are awlays chosen by Blake. He always varies the meet sites. The only other person that knows the meet sites is Eve. Everyone else finds out the mornign or afternoon of the meet. They're always at night.

Lucky tips the flask to Tori's lips, letting some spill into her mouth.
