Alright, so, I've got some extra time on my hands, and I'm interested in getting a couple of new games rolling. Here's the basic guidelines of the premise:
The games will be linked, with both happening simultaneously, and actions in one affecting actions in the other.
The games will both require characters that are there for a personal reason. This means that your character will be called in via a personal favor, and that you'll need to complete something significant (i.e., this goal) to fulfill the debt. If you're character wouldn't risk his life to pay the debt, probably not a good character for the game ;D
Please indicate in your character background/description the characters reputation in the shadows. Be forewarned, a character with a reputation for being psychotic or bloodthirsty will probably be a lower priority selection ;D
No mind control spells on PC's, please. Causes more problems then it solves.
Both games will move forward in time every Monday. If characters are in the middle of a discussion on Sunday night, it will be concluded and things will be pushed forward on Monday. If you're in combat, it will be pushed to the next stage, and I will determine the outcome based on rolls and the skills of the people involved. If characters are in negotiations come Monday, I will conclude the conversations, again taking into account the skill levels of the people involved, and give a summary of the results. It sounds weird, but it's the only way I can think of to keep the two games synced, time-wise, and keep things moving along. I understand that RL comes up sometimes, and I'll try to be fair when moving things along, but this game will move, with or without you ;D
I realize I probably sound psycho, but these are all issues that have come up and stalled or even ruined other board games that I've been in or run. I'm just trying to avoid the things that seem to cause problems.
Here's the mechanical guidelines:
450 build points. Otherwise standard rules on caps (230 on physical stats) and allowances, including availability. If there's something you really think your character should have, send me a PM, but be warned, it will require some pretty significant back story, both in quantity and quality.
Free contact points = 2 x your Charisma, obviously you can purchase more if desired.
I'm very strict about allergies, so if you're going to take one, it needs to be significant.
I've worked out a conversion system for merits and flaws from SR3 to SR4, so if there's something you want from SR3, let me know.
Here's the two games and their premises:
Reflections of a New Moon:
A young runner named Lucky, after having completed a few runs in the shadows to establish a baseline of reputation and credibility, wants to track down the person that killed his Mother. All he knows is that it happened 6 years ago in Seattle, and that it involves some sort of supernatural threat.
Reflections of a Full Moon:
Bakatare, an established runner in the community for over a decade now, has labored under a curse for some time. The curse was laid upon him by a denizen of a unique pocket of the metaplanes that he has been unable to return to. However, he knows of a denizen of that pocket plane that is here in the material. He needs to find them, and get the information he needs to remove the curse.
I'm looking for 6 players for each game. Please indicate which game you want to get into, or both. Basically, team selection represents these two characters calling in markers and favors, and selecting the best team from the people available. That said, it will not be a first come first serve. Character submissions must be completed and submitted by 12:01am, June 18th. Characters should be emailed to me at quantumthoughts at gmail.com. Feel free to post character ideas and concepts here if you want feedback or what to discuss it with other potential players, but the only method that will be considered official submission will be via email to me.
If you have any questions, please feel free to either post them here, PM me, or email me. If you email, please indicate that you are from the boards.

How combat intensive are both games intended to be? ie would a character who is intense in explosive things fit?

This sounds very interesting. I have an idea for a mage for either of the games, but I wanted to ask one question before going on with the creation and emailing and such. I know that some other GM's have allowed it when starting above 400 BP, and that is Initiation. Taking Grade 1 initiation for 13 BP plus 1 BP for the group bonding...or 15 BP without a group. The mage I want to play would have to be inititiated once, as I want him to have some connection to the metaplanes a little bit (and the only way to get there is after initiating once.)

Trigger The costs listed seem fine, and I'm willing to allow initiation at char-gen.

Wearzmanyskins - I'm not positive how combat intensive either game is going to be. Alot of that is going to be up to the characters. While I have NPC's that they'll be working with, the group is being hired because they know how to do things ;D In short, I don't know. There will be some action, but the quantity is really up to the players and characters.
Meriss
Lucky - Young kind, 18-19, human, Awakened, most notable talents are martial arts and driving ability. Reputation in the shadows is a good muscle / driver. Still a bit immature, but steady and can be professional when necessary. Hails from Seattle, grew up in the shadows, mother, Sully, was killed several years ago, father's name is Cowboy Jack, decker, also a 'runner. Basically grew up in the life. Quick to make friends, quick to make enemies, usually never holds a grudge for very long. Carries a signature pair of Sakura Fubuki's, and some sort of custom staff that breaks apart and has a built in grapple and line. Never takes wetwork, and always gives a discount for jobs involving supernatural threats. As per his nickname, always incredibly lucky.
Bakatare - Late twenties, Japanese human male. Hermetic Mage, very serious, a grim sense of humor. Fairly jaded about the world in general. Reputation in the shadows is an excellent mage, 8th tier initiate, usually with a horde of elementals following him around. Reputation also warns that about 1 in every 3 runs he goes on runs into some magical weirdness. One time it was someone trying to blend a bug spirit and a blood spirit. Once it was a small cult that was sacrificing local college kids to a Horror they were trying to coax into our world. Stuff like that. Is immaculate in clothing and style, usually sporting hand-cut suits and a high lifestyle home somewhere. Apparently cannot lie or deceive anyone in anyway regarding his magic. If asked he answers truthfully, regardless of the question or the asker. Always carries a Force 1 Power Focus in the form of a staff. Will only take wetwork if it's "bad people". Known to associate with a local singer of high renown, Moira.

Posting interest in Full Moon if the game doesnt have its full of Magically active.
Concept: A Norse tradition magic user (Thor or Tyr...both honorable but, havent nailed which one down just yet) Who was helped by Bakatare to remove any suspucion of involvement with Winternight in the (Ballard) area. There was an underground coven of Loki followers (Winternight cell also) that they purged from the area. PC gave an oath to help Bakatare if he ever called upon him.
If this seems (tenatively) ok I'll get to work making then emailing sheet to you.

carjack_malone - The concept seems just fine, and I think that the potential tie-in makes sense. The character would have helped with something like that, and this is definitely a task that would need favors called in ;D

One nit to pick, Wiccans etc groups are called covens. All other groups use different names for their groups. Norse/Asatru like Blots as gatherings or sumbles.
In RL Wiccans and Asatru/Norse get along like catholics and protestants in Belfast, they can coexist but almost anything can set them at each other.

Submission for Full Moon is a Hacker who calls himself Porter. Porter is an Ork who cut his teeth doing data smuggling for the syndicates. About a year ago, he stumbled onto some data which he wasn't supposed to see and ran afoul of the Triad. Since then, he's moved several times and changed his ID in an effort to stay a few steps ahead of those who hunt him.
New Moon submission is a Weapon Specialist, Hiver (Ee-vair). He primarily does one on one work, known as a steady hand to watch over hackers and mages when they go out of body on work. A trained medic and melee combatant, Hiver's weapons of choice are a monosword and colt manhunter.

Dervish Stuff
[ Spoiler ]
Real Name: Morgan Rhys-Jones
Street Name: Dervish
Background
There's plenty of sob stories in the shadows. Yeah why do you care? Well you're still sitting here chummer so I'll tell it. It all started with my granddad, Llewllyn Rhys, a Welsh immingarant just off the boat in Seattle Dec. 2012. Yup, right before the Awakening. He UGEd pretty quick, and that was that. According to him the Night of Rage was pretty bad. Anyway, he met and married my grandma a few years after that and set up up Rhys Architechture. Then the Crash knocked the comp for a loop pretty quick. Well sir, he got lucky, got back on track. Got himself a new partner too. Fella named Kenneth Jones. Well, we're just getting started. Grandpa had Robert, that's dad and Pappy Ken had Jenny that's mom. The whole shebang went to mom and dad and the comp became Rhys-Jones Architechture. I was born a few years later, lucky me. Well we were living pretty high, all the right schools for me, all the right parties for mom and pop. We didn't know how good we had it. Crash 2.0, that's what they called it. They didn't call it the night my family went to hell in a handbasket. Well grandma was 60ish, still working the trix as a broker, called the Novatech IPO the biggest bargin of a century. Yeah and ended up screaming her lungs out into the machine. Rhys-Jones went belly up as all the corps tried desperatly to get some share back and left a small firm to die. Gramps went out to Mount Rainier and blew his brains out. Pop is still hustling somewhere in the plex trying to make some of it back, haven't seen him in a while. Mom went back to live with Pappy and Mammy in the Tir. Me, well after I Woke Up, I had nowhere to go, so I drifted around the plex for a while. Got into the biz cause I knew buildings and blueprints. Made a few friends, like Bakatare and set up as a B&E specialist. So here we are Mr. J, you, me and the walls. Why am I telling you this? Cause you were Winternight, and you destroyed my family. And it's not like you're going to tell anyone else. After all you're dead.
Personality
Dervish is a cold hearted SOB. Everyone who meets him says so. He rarely speaks unless spoken too, he works well with others provided they are professional and polite.
Apperance
Dervish has two modes of dress. Living and Running. In his living mode he wears black khakis and a black teeshirt or sweater. He wears a poncho to keep off the rain. In running mode he morphs into a whole different person. He wears a black Urban Explorer jumpsuit with helmet, and a toolbelt filled with B&E tools. AR goggles cover his eyes and he usually wears a latex mask to cover the lower part of his face.
What everyone knows:
1. Dervish? He's a pointy ain't he? I dunno, heard he was pretty good at the old in and out.
2. Heard he might be Awakened. Might explain why he can move like that.
3. He's got some serious skill with those snap blades of his, don't let the old "pointys are queer" fool yah
4. He drops out of the plex from time to time. No one knows where he goes, but when he gets back there's always a Winternight dead someplace.
5. Heard his real name is --- gack *Dervish steps from behind the contact* I believe you have enough information on me. *Dervish retracts his bloodied snap blade* (Not really, but Dervish has worked very hard to erase any trace of his actual ID including killing)

Meriss - Very cool. Much more interested in the character at this point ;D
Djinni - Bakatare is well known in the shadows, but has obviously put some time into killing the public awareness. He's efficient, and that's more how he comes across. If you're looking for someone to sling Force 10 spells around, Bakatare is not your man. If you're looking for someone with a slew of useful spells and the ability to use them in creative ways to overcome your difficulties, he can help you. Stats: Street Cred - 19, Noteriety - 0, Public Awareness - 4
Lucky isn't really hot-headed. He's more of a crazy-daredevil, and crazy lucky to boot. He hasn't done much, again he's only run long enough to accumulate a few favors from some significant people. Doesn't really brag, but he's very confident in his own abilities and in his luck. Stats: Street Cred - 4, Noteriety - 1 (supposedly fire-bombed a clinic at some point during a run), Public Awareness - 1
Cowboy Jack - Prime runner, very well known among the shadows. Online persona is an icon of an old fashioned cowboy wearing wrap-around shades and a duster, but all sharp edges, as opposed to something life-like. One of the good old boys that made the transition from decks to comms fairly smoothly. Good as an operator, and also a supreme programmer and dec--, er, comm unit creator. Always good, doesn't work with wetwork jobs, was living with another runner named Sully that was a monster hunter. They had a kid, Lucky, and Sully died at some point after Crash 2.0. Stats: Street Cred - 34, Noteriety - 1, Public Awareness - 0 (he is a decker, after all)

Since it seems we're free to submit a character for each thread I would like to toss in a Mystic Adept (once again my elusive search to create this type of character) to
Full Moon. Yakuza connected with a huge marker owed to
Bakatare for keeping her safe during the Korean purges by home office in Japan. Now to making the character.

Meriss - Got your sheet, so you're official.
Redjack - Actually, you don't have to have the NPC on your contact list. Owing a favor is different from a contact. The favor may be a one time deal, one thing that you have to do for them. You might not have any contact with the NPC beyond that. Additionally, this is supposed to represent the character reaching out and calling in favors, so it's entirely likely that the reason a particular PC is there is because they owe a favor to someone else that owes a favor to the NPC, kind of a friend-of-a-friend thing. You're more then welcome to take the NPC as a contact if you like, and use the free points (CHA * 2) I gave at char-gen ;D

Well I may throw my hat into this.
This would be my first board type gig though. I do want to keep it simple character wise. (Combat types)
I had this idea for a Adept/Tracker type I wanted to run. A deer in the headlights, fresh out of the NAN Wilderness type. (Well not that fresh, he's managed to survive in the big city for a few months, even though the unholy place still creeps the heck out of him.)
I also had an idea for a wandering sammie type, with a fetish for Capes and Japanese swords. The well travelled, yet eccentric mercenary swordsman.
Any thing I might need though? Other than character info.
(Oh my adept for New Moon. And Katanalover57@aol.com for both games.)
