I figured it went pear shaped. I wrapped myself up in the new
Dresden Files book by Jim Butcher. Knocked it out last night a little after midnight. Good stuff - if you like neo-noir and some urban fantasy thrown together in a blender.

I spent all week-end working on computers. Rebuilt my home server (file, print, firewall, aircard, pvr, database, etc) because I switched from a 3ware raid card to SATA drives - took all three days for what should have taken one. Also, one of my daughter's PC died. I had to move her data drive to another computer, then my downstairs switch died.... luckily I had an old 10-Base-T hub on the shelf... I also went by my Dad's and updated his PC's software as well as routing his email through gmail to filter the dang spam and setting up IM...
All-in-all... I'm tired of computers for a while...
I heard Sara Conner got axed but Dollhouse got kept.

QUOTE (Street Magic @ pg124)
Wards are not portable astral objects. The warding ritual creates an astral link between the shadow of the physical anchor and the space being warded. If the physical anchor moves more than a few centimeters from its location at the time of the warding ritual, the entire ward collapses. Ward designers must carefully choose their physical anchors; choosing an object that must be moved obviously makes a poor choice.
I interpret that to mean that a vehicle cannot be warded. I'm ok if you are ruling different, just want to insure that we have a consistent ruling for the game.

Based on the the errata, I'm allowing a warded area inside a moving object provided the ward and object stay in the same orientation - with a little give and take. A van can have a ward inside it but can't be an anchor point for a larger ward - say around a building. Crashing the van would destroy the ward. For that matter, smashing it up fairly well with a bat would knock out the ward.

QUOTE (SRM Errata)
p. 123 Remaining Stationary
The third line should read:
“If the physical anchor moves more than a few centimeters from its location relative to the limits of the ward’s enclosure(…)
Ah... I missed this. I thought I had read somewhere about a ward being able to be inside a vehicle, but I just can't find the specifics. Is there another one you are referencing? I'd like to keep consistent.

I'll let you make the rolls as appropriate for perception and the like. If something happens before the end of my post, I will edit from that point.
Tank assumes that if the vehicle is rigged with a bomb it will either be a wireless sensor, weight on the seat or directly to the turning of the key. If he is able to pop the hood before turning the key, he will also take that precaution.
In the end... he still has to turn that key, then time for another wireless check if he doesn't blow up..

You inspired me with the original setup to put my table-top crew into the same scenario. They are a large crew of nine, so the complex was much more lethal for them. One of the two technomancers went into damage overflow (he has an AI stalker though who had Doc Wagon extract him after the run was over and had him fitted with several pieces of bioware, including dragon scale orthoskin). Several other team members were in pretty bad shape as well. Then the extraction team turned on them. In the end, only the second technomancer and the orc ganger were left standing. They had fought off the extraction team (of four) at the drop site and managed to capture the door gunner. (He critically glitched shooting at they and hit the quick release on his harness and fell out)
They ended up teaming up with the extraction team (who were also screwed by the Johnson) to take on a third team. They were a little noisy in the whole deal. With 9, they tend to get a little ballsy sometimes and take 'frontal assault' tactics. In this case, they had to leave Seattle (They started in Denver and then worked LA). They are now on a boat headed for Vladivostok, Russia (so I'll have two games there..

I love cut scenes on games. I've been doing them in my Alternity game for several years. Of course, they work best on long term games like this. hehehehe. Now that the team has completed four runs, I'm really wondering how (if any) of these runs tie together behind the scenes. Though I've said it before, I really enjoy this game and the character development.

Nay problemo. I was wondering if you were mulling over several options. When my players make dramatically unexpected moves or miss what I consider to be patently obvious clues, I sometimes take a few extra days to respond while I try to either decide how to react or how bad to spank them. I am obviously hoping for the former.

-10 Stealth Group
-04 Demolitions Skill R1
-02 Break up Firearms group. Specialize Longarms in Assault weapons.
That leaves him 3 in the bank. Given that his original write up listed his criminal SIN as have "Explosive Destruction of Government Property" denoted, I was amazed that he did not have Demolitions already.
I've also converted his sheet to the new format I use. I'll email that to you. I'll advise on Book.
