It's back! It's back! I don't (probably) have to do a SR4 conversion! Woohoo!

What's all this then? SR with dolphins?
DocTaotsu
Bah! Unbeliever! Just wait until the pseudopods drags you to a briny death!

Shadowrun-Magic+Dolphins+Firefly=Blue Planet (Healthy Dash of Transhumanism vs. Techno Dystopia)

The game mechanics are less than fantastic but the fluff is awe inspiring. The source book about dolphins is one of my favorite fluff books of all time because does a wonderful job of extrapolating what kind of society induced sapience would create.

It's gritty without being depressing, preachy without being boring, and I get to play an orca that shoots smartlinked torpedoes from rigged drones.

Oh yeah, it's that cool.

I'm just glad that this company also picked up Fading Suns.

Bah, it won't compare to Eclipse Phase... damn I can't wait for some Sci-Fi Transhumanist horror.

do I care? indifferent.gif

Your presentation should have been more of, 'hey, another system you should check out is Eclipse Phase, it delves into Transhumanist horror' etc... The confrontational style that you just did, meh, whatever.

Noes! Not the Pseudopods... well, they are dangerous right? smile.gif

But seriously, when I read 'Blue Planet' and see dolphins I get the urge to sink an oil tanker in the ocean. biggrin.gif
DocTaotsu
*coughs and fidgets uncomfortably*

Uhm... Maybe we need to have you step away from the Blue Planet section.

This might not be the game for you... wink.gif

But since the plot invovles a great deal of corporate virgin planet pillaging you actually might be in good company

And yes, psuedopods are like daemon squids that crawl into dark places and eat PC's. They are the reason I often ask "Are you sure you want to put your hand where you can't see it anymore?"

If you gotta keep asking your players that, you might just wanna start killing a few, it usually teaches them fast wink.gif At least have them lose a hand... our GM did that in one game we played, you can bet after the first play lost his hand we never stuck our hands in anything we hadn't tested first biggrin.gif

That's why experienced D&D players always bring a 10 ft pole wherever they go. Although it's usually a 9 1/2 ft or 7 ft pole after a couple of adventures.

Never underestimate the utility of a pointy stick.
Drogos
You can also wield the Longspear. Same as a 10 foot pole and a weapon to boot. I generally give my Rogue one, cause reach + backstab ROOLZ.

I've been quite interested to see what this brings about actually. Hopefully we'll see more soon.
