So I would like to get some feed back on my first ever adventure log.

Edit: decided to copy over the log so people didn't have to go to the Obsidian Portal site

The MCT Datasteal
March 28, 2010 15:18
It was raining in Seattle on Thursday (but of course when isn’t it), and with the acid rain I was glad that I had sprung the extra cash for some chemical protection for my coat and hat. It has been a few years since I had to leave my old life behind and enter the shadows fully, and I’d like to believe that I’ve learned a few things. Like the errand that I was currently on, double checking my safe-houses and making sure that my security “arrangements” with the gang at one and the private security force at the other were still working. On the drive in-between them Tori gave me a call. He was one of my first acquaintances when I entered the shadows, and he set me up with a mentor that showed me the beginning ropes of living on the underbelly of society. So when he gives me a call and says that he has some people that need some heavy lifting I listen, of course that it helps that I needed to find the cash to let me stay off the grid a little while longer.
He told me he had some chummer’s that needed some backup that I could provide and to meet them at Ground Zero coffeehouse about 1pm. I quickly checked the shadow sites that I had access to and see if there was any traffic issues or current fuzz activity that I would need to avoid on the way there. Since I would be able to get there in time I let him know that I’d meet them there, and he shot me a image one of the guys I was to meet. Some guy called Ghost although there are enough Ghost-this/that and the other thing in the shadows, I might just start calling him Skippy.p. I checked my last safe-house then headed back to my flat and changed into some clothing that were more acceptable for the coffeehouse and it’s patron’s (along with my armored vest underneath of course). One thing my mentor always drilled into me was protective coloration, always blend in (well as much as a 2.38m troll can). I arrived at the address early and parked at the closest parking garage leaving my heavy pistol and SMG locked in the hidden compartment I had added to the Luna, and did a quick recon of the area and make sure that I knew the avenue’s of retreat (not that I expected this to go south in a hurry, but you never know what might happen in the future).
When I walked in I immediately zeroed-in the guy I was to meet and the two guys that he was sitting with. I ordered a extra large (no I don’t care what fancy names they call the sizes) which in my hands was a medium, and it sure as drek doesn’t have the caffeine required for my body mass. But not buying one is an anomaly in a coffeehouse, plus it’s just plain rude. I pulled over a chair that looked like it would support me to the table they were at. Sometimes (drek who am I kidding a lot of the times) it’s a pain living in a world designed for smaller people. I introduced my self and they told me that they were meeting the Johnson at 2pm. So we spend the next hour introducing our selves and doing the usual initial meeting feeling out that runners tend to do (at least the ones that last any amount of time). Ghost/Skippy has some skills with computer systems and the matrix, Camaxtli is the magical support, he also had some ties to Aztechnology but didn’t elaborate on what those were (so you can be sure I’ll be watching him), Frank was the Face and general infiltration person.
This chicka walks in shortly before 2pm and talked to the barista behind the counter. Then she made her way over to Skippy/Ghost and introduced herself as Nicky Larou (sp?) and that she had arranged for a private study room for our discussion. After we all went into the private room (which of course didn’t have a troll sized chair, so I leaned on the wall opposite the door rather than sit on the floor) Nicky got down to the Biz. Seems that Mitsuhama Computer Technologies was going to have a press conference sometime in the next two to three weeks. And the interested parties that she represented would like to get their hands on the data that MCT would be releasing. The data was being held at a R&D storage facility in an off-line system at 731 Commerce St in the Tacoma District. The current director of the facility was a exec called Gerald Kadjick (sp?) and that she wanted it made to appear that the info was leaked by him to another corp. After some back and forth discussion the rest of the team wanted to check out the location before committing to the job, which I whole heartedly agreed with seeing as how MCT have a shoot, first, second and third and then decide to as questions (or shoot more) against intruder’s. Nicky seemed amenable to this but wanted our response by Friday evening. So we all piled into Frank’s broken down van (I seriously hope it doesn’t break down on the actual run) to do a quick re-con of the facility.
The storage facility was in a warehouse and light industrial park it looked to be fairly well secured. There was the standard chain-link with razor-wire on the inside, and a guard shack at the entrance with at least two guards, one staying inside the shack at all times (I presume that the shack is armored against light gunfire at the least). There were a total of six buildings, five warehouse/storage and one office-building in the NE corner. Cam went into the weird astral place that magical types have access to and did some quick re-con, and came back that three of the storage areas seemed to be just that storage. But one seemed to be a security area with some drones and a rigger stationed there, and the final one he didn’t try and enter because he was able to sense magically active beings in there and didn’t want to alert anyone to our presence. He said that the office building was covered on the walls with some kind of plant that made a barrier so that he couldn’t enter, but that he was able to summon a spirit and had it explore the office building and it reported that there were many people on the top floor working on machines (commlinks and computers maybe). There was a security detachment on the ground floor and cubicles and offices on the second floor. (Note: can’t remember all the details of the office building, somebody might want to put more detail here). Meanwhile Frank had parked the van at the closest busy warehouse and changed into a bike courier outfit and pulled his bike out of the back and did a quick check of the security response at the guard shack. He acted like he was looking for a business that was a couple of buildings down. The security guard was right out the door when he pulled up and was disinclined to do any small talk. Which is typical of MCT security based on my pre-shadowrunning experience.
Once we had gathered all the intel that we thought we would need there we checked out the home address that Nicky had given us for Gerald. It was a condo in a mid to upper scale residential neighborhood. Once we had driven through I suggested to everyone that we find a inconspicuous spot and park the van. Because I knew that driving in a rusted van in this area would definitely draw the local authorities. So we found the closest Stuffer Shack and parked there while Cam and Skippy/Ghost took a look at the place. Skippy was able to hack his way in the condo’s main computer system and take a look at the guy’s personal life (what there was of it). And Cam did a astral sweep of the rooms.
Since it looked like we shouldn’t have any problems (or at least ones that couldn’t be dealt with) Skippy called Nicky back and arranged another meet back at Ground Zero for the following afternoon. Once we had arrived there the we entered another private room where Nicky’s assistant was already setting up the white noise generator and making sure the location was secure. Once the place was reasonably secure we got down to business. Frank was the person that was decided that should handle the actual negotiation. And so he started out by asking some clarifying questions.
*Did she care what happened to this Gerald’s career after the data was stolen Answer: no *She didn’t want the data to appear to be delivered to the entities that she represented. Answer: If the data went to any other corp she wanted it to be laced with misinformation *She didn’t care if Gerald was able to be used as a asset in the future or not Answer: She didn’t care what happened to Gerald after this.
Once these questions were answered we told her that the run was acceptable and the offers and counter offers began. Her initial payment offer was 10,000 nuyen but Frank countered with all the security and MCT’s typical response to intruders that we couldn’t really justify less than 30,0000. She doubled her inital offer and it was decided on a total payment of 25,000.
