Recruiting for two games here.
I need 1-2 additional players for an existing PbP style SR4a game. The game has been underway and the first run is complete. The catch is that we play over Google Wave. (I can provide an invite if you don't have one.) The game is based in Seattle, 2072. Its definitely more of a mirror shades group than pink mohawk.
For Character Builds:
Karma System Character Generation only (750 karma) (From Runner's Companion)
*50 karma must be spent on knowledge/language skills
*Attributes follow the SR4a rules of new rating x 5.
*Skill Groups limited to rating 4.
*One skill may have a rating of 6 or two at rating 5. All other skills are limited to rating 4.
*2,500 nuyen per karma.
*Standard Metavarients only
*Lifestyles created using the Advanced Lifestyles rules in Runners Companion are preferred, but not required.
*No optional build rules allowed unless cleared.
For full discloser, we've been playing for about two months. Currently the group consists of a drone rigger, two magicians, an adept, and a hacker. They lost their face, so they could use a replacement. Half the group is fairly new to PbP style (this is their first game), so I'll probably be looking for someone who has a bit more experience with it.
The second game isn't for Shadowrun at all. We're starting up an Earthdawn campaign in a custom (more medivial) setting. We're looking for at least two more players. I can provide more details if anyone is interested. This will be played over Google Wave as well. Again, invites are available.

Hey, I'm wondering if you've still got the opening in your SR4 game? I may be interested in joining if you still do, though I'd be interested in knowing what style (high action vs intrigue, etc) and post frequency you're aiming for. I've not played SR4 in PbP, but have played several other games that way (primarily d&d) over the past couple years. Feel free to send me a message, or my Wave ID is sehlysdre@googlewave.com if you'd prefer to contact me there. (Odds are I'll see the wave sooner, since I generally have that open most of the time.)

I'd also like to register my interest in joining your game.

This seems interesting indeed. I would be interested and I have quite a bit of experience with PbP but not with Google Wave.. How is that working for the game. I assume by checking out the information that it enables the players to meet in one virtual table and you can share files and pictures in real time...
That seems like it would work very well...

It has a lot of untapped potential. The real time aspects are less than stellar and there are better products out there if that's what you're looking for. The fully functioning Google Map gadget is handy showing points of reference to city map (possibly more so if your players give the impression that they bothered to look at it, but I wouldn't know about that.

)
Mostly my group likes Wave for the ease of managing the posts and replies. Since you can insert replies anywhere, it helps the flow of things. I also like being able to create a private waves for individual characters. Sure on a forum you can use PM, but its just doesn't have the same feel. Overall, I find it superior to forums for PbP style.

If your still looking for a player then I am interested. I understand that you need an invitation to get a copy of Google Wave. I have g-mail so I think i can get an invitation. It does sound like an interesting experience to game online.
I am always interested in this since there are gamers around where I live but they are very hard to get a hold of.

Thanks for the responses, I'll try to contact you each individually over the next couple of days. Even after I've filled the slots I'd like to have a sort of wait list of people who are interested in case any more current players drop out.
I had an idea for something else that I would like to try to use Google Wave for, though not in the near future. Get two group of players for a PbP game and give them competing objectives and have them run against each other. The GM would keep track of what each group is doing and when, relay it to the other group, when they interact. Obviously a lot could go wrong, but its possible to do, given the right people, strict time tables and a very focused objectives. But using Google Wave is about the only way I can think to do it easily, as in a forum game you could just read up on the other group's actions, which would obviously ruin the fun.

Look forward to hearing from you. (Let me know here if you have problems getting a hold of me, since I'm still new here I can't PM or use the email feature. I can probably enable display of my email address if you need.)
I've seen a forum game where a DM ran two competing groups and it was mostly honor system to not read the others' thread. Looked like a fair amount of work, but seemed to turn out ok. It was certainly entertaining to read as an outsider. With the ability to do private replies and such on Wave, I could definitely see it being a bit smoother.
