I know there's a contacts section in the BBB, but more variety would be useful. Is there already something online that has a bunch of NPCs statted out ready to go? If not, we should get on that...

There's quite alot of npcs both contacts and to use as opponents in all the missions adventures as well as unwired has hacker type npcs... I usually make them up as I need them.

It's a huge pain in the ass to make NPCs constantly, especially when my players spring something weird on me, like trying to Rorschach a bunch of gangers for info I never mentioned. Even just a database of the Missions NPCs would be nice.

As big of an opponent as I am of digital downloads, I would actually pay money for a bare-bones PDF of a bunch of NPCs, complete with ready-to-play stats. Hell, just print their dice pools for various common actions (firing gun, unarmed/armed combat, negotiation, etc.) rather than full stats if that's easier.

That's when I just usually just make the stats up... My players will start doing things like that when they're going in the wrong direction and making it more complicated then it needs to be usually. I'll just average out most stats depending on how much of a threat I need this to be and bump up a couple then just add the skills you need. Gangers have pistols and clubs, maybe one has monowhip or chains just for fun and you go from there. With my players It would take me to long to look up what I need if I had a database(if I even had time to make one)

And when they go after gangers for info that you never mentioned... well those gangers don't know anything and just happen to be under surveillance by the cops or someone else...

I think I'm missing my old index card file. It was a bunch of 3x5 index cards (about 100 total) with all the contacts and a bunch of NPCs I made back when I was running my 2nd Ed game. "You've tripped the alarm and hear sirens on the way. Oh? You're not running, you're going to hold your ground? Okay *whips out Lone Star patrol cop card*. The shootout's now gone 10 rounds, the SWAT team arrives, let me pull out those cards for the grunt SWAT and sniper as well as the rigger flying their chopper..." So on and so forth. It was so amazingly convenient and made the game run SO much more smoothly...but I'm also lazy and don't want to do work if someone else has already done it or if I can get other people to help me nyahnyah.gif

I can definitely understand being lazy or not having alot of free time to get things like that organized... I can see if i can get one of my players to maybe gather up all of the NPC and contact data and gather it into one place for ease of reference but I don't know if it's ok for me to do if I'm just giving it out.

Ghost Cartels has a LOT of grunts templates that are more beefed up than the ones on the basic rulebook. Even for stings like SWAT teams and stuff. What we lack now is an AWAKENED grunt page, because the wagemages he hack suck as hell. (Corpsec mage with a BIONIC ARM?! )
