I was just wondering what the average wealth your runners tend (if there is an average) to end up with. Is it a function of game-level-intent? Street version games vs International Shadow Action? Does it matter if you're a mundane or a tech-type? Are you still street-level poor, Permanent Middleclass, Higher? Kane level of "Yeah I operate multimillion dollar vehicles to further my piracy and stuff" of wealth?
How long did it take you to achieve the wealth rating you ended up with?
I'd say the 'retirement wealth' my chars end up with tends to be a few million (3-7). Depending on if I need to upgrade cyber and stuff post chargen, it may be less.

Nah, he just used the core book's pay scale. I think that the gm was generous with the gift voucher.

I would say that depends on the group, some groups like to have to struggle to make enough for Rent & ammo, others like to have enough to buy an upgrade of some sort every few sessions. I plan to keep an up to date calender for my group & allow them to decide how much money they make by budgeting their time.

well, maybe the GM felt sorry for him since the pay increase for facing two great dragons as opposed to one doesn't exist (unless the party consists of only one person and that's the only encounter, in which case you would qualify for being outnumbered two to one by NPCs of a professional rating of four or better and you qualify for a 1k nuyen bonus, but that only applies if that one PC never faced 3 or more random schmucks. also, at six great dragons, you qualify for another 1k nuyen bonus, and may also qualify for that outnumbered bonus if your group has 3 PCs instead of only 1).

yeah, the pay should scale a bit better, if you're facing a GD, I'm asking for 200k/person minimum.

Thankfully they can ask for half up front. Pretty standard, in good part for that reason.

half of "getting paid less than the cost of the ammunition i would need to use assuming you the great dragon never actually counterattacks or defends itself in any way" up front is still not a convincing argument that i should face down a great dragon.

Haha I'm not arguing that. The pay grades don't scale properly at all. I think most GMs will likely ignore that part of the book entirely.

Back on topic, the pay scale in Shadowrun is pants-on-the-head retarded. Honestly, for the money you can get in one run (ESPECIALLY if you're a mage) get a job at a corp and relax. Payouts need to be at least 10 times what's stated.
