Or, rather, they have, and thus they're more "beautiful". And thus, "too attractive to be elves/trolls". (Alnd elves are supposed to be attractive... it's Orcs and Trolls that are oogly).
Also, I'd have to say that any model worth her salt in 2070 will have had some sort of (re)constructive surgery.

yea, i ment orcs, i donno why i typed "eleves" (hehe damn typos too boot).
ofcourse, this brings us to a spin off of the original question, of if they use humans even for orc/troll clothing... are we even still USING models? with the matrix, VR, and icons what they are, would it not be cheaper to "produce" the model from scratch, instead of using a real person and modifying them to be what we want?

Come on!
Haven't you ever imagined the intricate feel of ridges under your fingers as you slide one hand down her horn?
Doesn't the thought of dermal plating pressing against your belly send shivers down your spine?
How delicious must it feel as she presses her tusks ever so gently into your throat, moaning in her ecstasy, sending a wonder through your mind: "What if she truly loses control?"
Who needs Photoshop?

Actual metahuman models would still be in use in 2070 because modeling is about glamor and scandal, and a sim person doesn't break off engagements, crack up their car or go sunbathing topless.

The great thing about Klingon women is that dating is so simple. There are no awkward invitations for coffee, no sitting through boring plays and no fancy diners that cost a hundred bucks and taste like curried dog poop. If you see a Klingon women that you like, you just backhand her hard enough to knock her off of her feet. Then, she backhands you off of your feet; if you remain conscious and don't require hospitalization, then it's on.
If only human dating could be that simple.
But yeah, orks and trolls are very sexy. But, if you want to please a Troll woman then you must be a skilled horn-licker.

...ahhhh, but she hit's like a Ferengi, literally, eats like a Vulcan P'tak, turns up her nose at any wine that is remotely robust, and is more into the likes of Mozart, Verdi and Wagner (though I will say he does come the closest to true opera, for a human composer) instead of a real master like N'oto son of Rious.

There's also the "uncanny valley" effect: when you try to create virtual humans, if you want to take a realistic approach, you have to be realistic up to the slightest details or people will be put off by what they're seeing. Not only the appearance but also the movements and reactions of the virtual human must be exactly those of a real human. If they don't, the virtual model will just look creepy.
I've experienced this while morphing human faces into metahuman faces for my webcomic: before applying the filters, even if I was careful to make it look "realistic", it didn't feel right: I knew I wasn't watching a real picture even if I couldn't point out the details which gave it away.

Okay. As stated in the beginning, it was my intention to pull these together into some sort of "real" magazine. I'm pretty sure I've asked for permission from everyone so I hope the below is fine. It is an initial
draft. I would like to finish it, but I'm still waiting for completed work from people.
So I thought if I post the initial draft, it might stimulate a little more interest and contribution.
It's not posted on my website yet, so use the link below to get a sneak preview.
direct linkAs far as I'm aware, I'm still waiting on the following:
Fistandantilus - I have you down as having promised a hunky troll dude in trunks and an ork or dwarf female. Not sure if you decided to do the elf samurai instead? Also a statement that you want to redo the troll?
Rione - your work is brilliant. I hope you don't mind me sticking some mock-interview stuff with it in the magazine. You also declared your intention to do some sexy dermal deposits. Still up for that?
Squinky - I have you down for a troll babe as well, still to come... ?
Trigger - I have the sketches which I've put in the magazine, but I'm still waiting for inked versions of them you said you were planning?
Kyoto Kid - You said you'd done a picture for this and were looking for a scanner? Any developments?
-K.
EDIT: There are plenty of good pieces that I haven't put in here. That doesn't mean I'm not including them! It just means I haven't the time to do a full thing yet and didn't want to get to into it if I was going to be re-arranging it when I get more pieces.

Why not put this together and let people buy it from lulu.com, for something low priced [$5] ??
Is there a way to clear this with the SR owners, as a 'fan 'production' ??
Regardless, this is great and I am in awe of some of the artistic talent on these forums.

Please excuse the image quality as pencil scans do not come out very well without a lot of post process work. Being that I was "on the clock" at Kinko's and not up to speed on the current version of Photoshop® I was limited in what I could so to try and enhance the image.
As mentioned in the comments, this is the first sketch I have done in a while due to my advancing arthritis. Although I'll admit it was fun to do in spite of all the Advil required.

Yeah, age is a tricky thing, though I am satisfied with her appearance. It works for me because after all, she is modeling and thus would definitely undergo a bit of a makeover.
I guess I'm more disappointed about the reproduction quality. Seeing the high quality of submissions by Squinky, HolyChampion, and Trigger (who by the way does pencil works & gets them to reproduce with all the subtle nuances) I feel I need better scan and touch up tools of my own to really bring an image out better. Because of my stiff hands I tend to have a very soft touch.

...oh & don't count out any future stuff appearing now that I've been bitten by the bug again. For now I will not be doing commission work since I cannot guarantee a reasonable time frame. Also, my technique and style tends to favour female characters (most of my males tend to look too "girly", which I guess is fine for elves
and some alien races).
