I’m looking for 5 or 6 players to brave the 2066 Tokyo shadows for the game below.
ConceptHot Tokyo Nights, set in Tokyo four months after the second matrix crash, is a campaign about the everyday lives, relationships, struggles, victories, defeats, and possibly deaths of the characters.
SettingTokyo is still in partial chaos from the crash and the eruption of the Ring of Fire. The SIN Amnesty Program is still in progress, the yakuza are too busy fighting for position among themselves to notice or care about the Red Dragon Triad and Vory moving into the Japanese underworld, the bosozoku (go-gangers) have expanded operations into smuggling guns up from the cities of Kyushu, foreign corps – taking advantage of the repeal of portions of the Yamato Act are opening offices in Japan.
The matrix is still a mismatch of wired and wireless. Most of the business areas have had wireless implemented, but a majority of the poorer neighborhoods are still either running on wired connections or only have spotty wireless service. Of course the corps are taking advantage of wireless to get their operations back up and running.
In short, it’s a time of chaos and change in Tokyo. The characters will have numerous opportunities to make a difference – be it as saints or sinners.
I’m interested, what do I do?At this time I’m looking for character concepts and backgrounds, not character sheets. The more interesting concept and background the better your chances are of being accepted.
Concepts should fit the character creation guidelines set forth in the spoiler section below.
Concepts and Backgrounds will be accepted until 00:00:01 5/13/2007. After that, you’ll go on the alternate list.

Character Creation Guidelines
Power Level
The characters are not professional runners by any means - please keep this in mind. Gifted amateurs and lucky survivors would be a better description. The characters were given the standard number of BPs in order to build well-rounded characters, not one trick ponies.
Build Points
400
Attributes
* Physical/Mental are limited to 200 bp
* Magic and Resonance are limited to 4
* Awakened and technomancer characters must have an essence of 5 or greater
Edge
* Edge refreshes everyday at dawn (6:00 AM).
* When Edge is spent for extra dice, you only get dice equal to your current unspent Edge points rather than your full Edge attribute.
Skills
* PCs may buy only one skill at 4 (and none higher). Skill groups and all other skills are capped at 3.
Race
* Be aware that even with the recent repeal of the sections of Yamato Act deaing with metahuman discrimination, racism is still a big factor in Japanese society.
Positive Qualities
* Aptitude: This quality works as per normal and also raises the character generation cap on the skill by one. This quality could also be used to gain two skills at 4 (the cost to go from 3 to 4 is not raised).
Negative Qualities
* Addiction: No more than 10 bp should be gained from this quality (two mild or one moderate).
* Incompetent: May only be taken for skills a character is fairly likely to need on a regular basis. All Vehicle and Technical skills will face scrutiny.
* Sensitive System: May only be taken by awakened and technomancer characters if they possess cyberware.
Gear
* Ratings are limited to 4 and availability is limited to 9.
* Each mundane character may have one item of up to rating 6 and avail 12.
* Hand Razors, Handblades, and Spurs are allowed regardless of availablility
* Alpha grade implants are not available.
Lifestyle
* All characters should have at least one month of prepaid lifestyle.
* Custom lifestyles from the SSG are available - please ask for the rebuilt nuyen/point chart if you wish to construct your own lifestyle.
* More than one lifestyle can be purchased to reflect safe houses, lifestyles for Fake SINs, etc.
Contacts
* Characters should have at least 3 contacts - preferably more.
* Connection rating is limited to 3. Loyalty may be up to 6.
