Ok, I cannot wait for Fallout 3 to come out. Does anyone know of any good Fallout style Pen-and-Paper RPG's? The only thing I could find was d20 apocalypse, but I don't want to get cancer.

Any suggestions?

Post-Apocalyptic Media: Fallout Pen and Paper RPG

A post-nuclear-apocalypse RPG set after a nuclear war in 2077 between the U.S. and Russia, based on the computer game by Interplay. It uses a simple percentile system with limited point-based character creation. 157 pages core rules (PDF), plus several sourcebooks.

Any idea where I can find these sourcebooks, if they were ever created?

Wasn't Fallout based on a PnP RPG. Called Wastelands or something like that?
IvanTank
Wasteland was a previous computer RPG.

They are still in the process of being converted to PDFs. You might be able to find second hand copies on ebay or in used bookstores.

Sadly - the former publisher went under and the game isn't in print except. PAMedia did buy the rights to republish it - however they're so small that they are only doing pdf releases.

That's the story - at least according to my GM.

Hmmm....

What are my options for running a Fallout game?

Use the Fallout: Pen-and-Paper RPG rules, which seem to be a literal translation from the computer game, meaning added complexity...

Use d20: Apocalypse:.... But I dislike cancer....

Use a user made Fallout module for GURPS.... maybe....

Or, just modify the Shadowrun rules to work in the setting... strip out magic, metas( or modify for ghouls and mutants), cyberware, the matrix and add in a lot more devastation. Combat drugs will be renamed and uber emphasized... Come up with a bunch of shitty guns... severely restrict starting money... And make bullets even MORE expensive...

I like smile.gif

er... last time I checked the fallout pnp rpg was on a pdf on one of the special-edition cds.

NMA has it

enjoy.

There was a tabletop version of the Fallout Tactics game avaliable on the Fallout Tactics CD. But it is not the same as a RPG.
If I recall, the RPG on NMA is based on the same mechanics as the game. Which means lots of percentage rolls and movement and combat are both based on hexs. To figure out the To Hit % you take the Base minus Range minus Light minus Armor minus Cover minus or plus Extra bonus' (or minus penalties) minus Targeted Shot (if applicable). wobble.gif

The only problem with using the SR rules would be the lose of the feats (since when you get them is level based), but I am sure they could be worked in somehow, if you want them.

Make Perks and Feats into qualities. Bloody Mess was always fun smile.gif

Play my Fallout 2 vintage weapon mod! There's a thread in this forum on it. It makes Fallout 2 funner!

Actually I'm in the process of writing a fallout campaign for use in gurps to be played with openRPG or maptools.

There is a gurps fallout over here http://members.cox.net/cyberdungeon/index.html

There is a simple tech and template site here
http://gurps.fallout.free.fr/
The site is french but the pdfs are in english.

The one I'm cooking up is based in eastern europe where the nukes didn't make much of an impact except for severing global communication, destroying all the major trade hubs, and giving various animals two heads. I've considered completely diverging from the Fallout setting and just go Global Thermo-Nuclear War on the shadowrun setting but use gurps rules. Trolls, cyber, drugs, secretly working for one side with the intention to turn them in to their competitors and get paid twice. Wait, those are all already in core Fallout setting.
