TinkerGnome
Here's the OOC thread.

The IC thread can be found here.

There will be a background post or two made in the IC thread before the game officially starts. Feel free to hang out here and discuss characters in the meantime. The characters I'm fully expecting to play are:

Azaezel, male human assassin-type physad
Kyle, male human 12 year old genius
Skooter, male ork shaman
Daemon, male changeling ork ex-ganger carthief/street racer
Mr. Fix-It, male human techie
Rage, human mundane

In addition, the following may join us:

Elizabeth Mödel, female ork physad
Other PCs created after now

Anyone who comes up with a non-overlaping PC between now and game start MAY be eligible to join. Because of the rapid pace I'd like to keep and the relative party size independance of the first few posts, I may allow another character or two. Other than that, I will reactivate the recruiting thread when more players are needed.
Kagetenshi
Evening, all. I'm playing Kyle, and will probably end up posting about twice as much as anyone else here save the GM. Really a pity, given how rarely I actually manage to say anything worth saying wink.gif
Just warning everyone that from next Tuesday to next Saturday my usual manic posting rate will be somewhat slowed; I ought to be able to keep to about a post/day without missing more than a day, maybe two, but that's a busy time. Other than that, though, I'll be golden as far as keeping the pace goes.
I look forward to working with you all.

~J
Kurb
What's poppin everyone. I'll be playing Rage, and the name should be all I need to say. A kid born on the streets, and will most likely die on the streets. Sort of your average joe I guess you'd say. We'll see how he fairs.
Glyph
Hey all. I'll be playing Skooter, a hustling street sorcerer (shamanic), a hyper kid who knows how to survive on the streets - whether he'll survive this run is another story. wink.gif
Little Tim
I'm playing Mr. Fix-it, an orc who is good with his hands and mean with his fists.
Digital Heroin
I'll be playing Daemon, a changeling orc that looks like something out of an anime, who happens to be a car theif and streetracer. Who knows, maybe he'll live to be a rigger one day... well... if anyone survives...
Kagetenshi
Kyle will probably survive, if only because someone paid enough to have him scraped off the pavement and put in a jar for their use.
Or at least that's what he assumes smile.gif

~J
Kurb
Well I hope most of us survive. But if not, hey its all good!
TinkerGnome
Game on.
TinkerGnome
Oh, yeah. For those with backgrounds, the bounty was 10 karma. Record and spend as needed (email the new character sheets to me). Also, there's a 5 karma bounty for the first person to figure out the basis for the game.

Azaezel, male human assassin-type physad
Kyle, male human 12 year old genius
Skooter, male ork trickster shaman
Daemon, male changeling ork ex-ganger carthief/street racer
Mr. Fix-It, male human techie
Rage, male human mundane
Fink, male changeling dwarf rat shaman
Shadow
Well there is an old Star Trek episode where a disease wipes out everyone over the age of 15, it was called "Miri". It was a really good episode.
Shockwave_IIc
OH oh. i know, i know!! do i get the karma??
TinkerGnome
Heh, if you're right you can. Though only in the eastern religious fashion.
Shockwave_IIc
I've sent you a Pm with my answer.

It would be unfair if i posted it here.
TinkerGnome
Shockwave had it wink.gif

Oh, and everyone is free to post in the IC now.
Shadow
Everyone, say hi to Azaezel. Azaezel, everyone biggrin.gif
Kagetenshi
Shadow, that should be Balaclava. Baklava is a dessert smile.gif

~J
Shadow
I write this really cool post, and you are upset cause I am wearing a dessert on my face? Sheesh, some people grinbig.gif

I'll take your word for it though as reflected in the changes. When I was in the army we called the Baklava's. A quick search on the web reveals no credible source to back me up... so it is changed!
Kagetenshi
Baklava is good stuff. Honey, nuts, and pastry.
A recipe

~J
Kagetenshi
Tinkergnome, are you going to be doing all the rolls or should we append all relevant rolls to the end of our IC posts?

~J
Digital Heroin
All ten Karma spent to do one thing... upped Daemon's Quickness to 5, which tosses his reaction up to 5 as well. I figure being a proto-Rigger, he might need it.
TinkerGnome
Place all relevant rolls on the OOC board. It'll work better that way overall, I think.
Kagetenshi
Stealth Roll: 3,4,2,1 (dammit... I stealth like a brick)
Perception roll: 1,3,3,4,5,5,5,8,8

~J
Digital Heroin
Driving Tests for:

Drift Turn - 3,3,4,5,7
Sidewalk Drive - 3,3,4,4,9
Jumping the Curb - 2,3,3,3,3
NOS Run - 3,4,4,4,5
Parking Complex - 1,1,2,2,5

Stealth (To Avoid the Military Tail) - 3,4,5,11

Target numbers for driving are reduced since he's jacked in, to a 3. Seems like he hit that gate a bit rough, but he was successful. As for the Stealth role; stealth is as much knowing how to keep out of the line of sight as anything. It's visual stealth I'm going for here. That's just his end of things. Sensors of course are another matter.
Little Tim
Stealth brick, meet stealth rock.
Stealth 2,3,4
Perception roll: 1,2,4,4,5
TinkerGnome
Hey, guys. Feel free to continue with the introduction bits. I added a few items for about half of the characters (I'm not leaving anyone out on purpose, you just might not have gotten something). Kurb has yet to post, and the interaction seems to be flowing well to my ends so I'll let it run on its own for a day or so and see where it leads. Everyone is currently in the same tenemant building, including Fink and Daemon.
Glyph
Results for normal perception roll: 5, 5, 4, 1, 1.

Results for astral perception roll: 5, 4, 4, 3, 2.

His Perceptive Edge gives him -1 TN for both rolls.
Kurb
Sorry guys I'm gonna have to skip out on this mission. New job requires me to work at night and then I still have my day job which makes it hard to get onlilne anymore. Sorry for taking a spot and then not being able to fulfill it. Have fun guys.
TinkerGnome
No problem, Kurb, we were one heavy, anyway. Let me know if/when things settle down.

For everyone else, I'd like everyone to have made themselves known to the group by tomorrow (Monday) evening if possible. I'll make the next post occur then.
Grey
Conjuring (6) a force 4 Hearth Spirit.

@ Glyph,

I don't know what you are trying to find out, but looking at his aura it is fairly obvious he is awakened.
Digital Heroin
I hide like big red dude... er... yeah: 1,2,2,4
I sneak better: 2,2,5,11
TinkerGnome
Hate to let this ride, but I'm outta town today on business. I'll move things along tonight if I can.
Grey
if I cast Invis on me while I'm riding my bike, would the bike be invis too, or would I have to cast the spell twice? What about a car? Do I need a spell for the car and each person in it, or just one for the bunch?
TinkerGnome
Anyone with any relevant knowledge skill will probably be able to guess that spike strips will have been laid out at the exits from the underground parking facility. While leaving vehicles behind might be distasteful, they're not overly likely to be molested for a few days (people tend to stay clear of areas where the sweep has hit for a bit). There is a sewer access in the parking level.

Game is currently on semi-pause. I know how rough it is posting around the holidays, so we'll pick back up full speed by Monday smile.gif
Grey
What does my Hearth Spirit tell me about exits from the building? I figure it would know better than anyone else. smile.gif
TinkerGnome
Grey, answered IC. Things your character may or may not know:

Prior to the Archology fiasco, there was a relatively small military force in Seattle with nearly no magic (4 mages, to be exact). The metroplex guard consisted of three battalions of mostly light and mechanized infantry with only minimal support forces (mainly light armor and a few helicopters). The soldiers counted for about 1000 men total. For the most part, these are the men and women keeping peace at the bridge checkpoints out of the DCZ.

Right now, much of the Joint Task Force Seattle is being used to help with the containment effort. All totaled, this group is 5000 men strong with a significant thunderbird and landbound armor contingent. There are approximately fourty mages on the force. These are the men and women holding the southern boundary of the DCZ, the Seattle/Sidhe border, and doing the sweeps. Sweeps are usually done by relatively large groups of men and support.

An average sweep consists of an entire platoon of light infantry, a mage, and a special weapons team. There is generally arial cover, as well.

(I don't have a book where UCAS military organization is laid down more precisely. I'm working mainly off of a US military organization chart right now, and guessing the rest.)
Grey
Just so I'm clear, Daemon and Fink are in the parking garage and everyone else is upstairs in the buiding. Right?
TinkerGnome
At this instant in time, that appears to be the case. I'll give another few hours or so before posting anything substantial, though, to give everyone a chance to catch up.
Grey
Thats basicly what I'm doing too, giving the guys upstairs a chance to come down and meet us, rather than keeping the group seperate. I just thought that would be easier on you. If you don't care though, Fink wouldn't really waste any time, he would head for the sewers ASAP with his tail tucked between his legs. wink.gif
TinkerGnome
Actually, my next post will require someone to do something first, so I'm waiting on PCs to drive it forward in that sense. I'd say that by tomorrow morning, anyone who hasn't posted probably isn't going to and we can get on with it.

Azaezel's stealth roll for going down the stairs

02 05 04 04 02 04 22 08

He also has traceless walk so that he should not disturb the trash as he moves.

He is going to keep one hand on his sword as he goes down. The bag he is carrying is a sinch bag, it essentially is big enough for a couple of ration bars and the "object d'art" he stole. It fits snuggly around his chest.
Kagetenshi
Defaulting from Physics to Intelligence at +3 mod: 1, 1, 1, 2, 4, 5, 5, 5, 9, 9, 10

Complementary dice: 2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 15

And Stealth, if the previous roll doesn't hold: 2, 2, 5, 10

~J

edit: yes, the dice were very flattering. Really.
TinkerGnome
[edit] Nevermind. Helps if I read the IC first wink.gif [/edit]
Glyph
Stealth roll for going down the stairs:

14, 10, 9, 5, 5, 1.
Shadow
@ TKG, we are heading for the garage.
TinkerGnome
I noticed wink.gif

The trip down is without mishap and you guys can hear a bit of activity outside. It really does sound like they're waiting for people to come out. A building over, someone does and is quickly searched and escorted back to one of the waiting busses. Go ahead and finish being in the garage if you guys want wink.gif I'll move-along sometime tomorrow morning.
