Hmmm...it's losing data when I try to edit the initial post.

For clarification, the Medical Officer is going to be played by ZenZen.

Posting guidelines for the IC thread:

Please preface any posts with your IC Character's name in brackets.

I.E.: [Bob] Bob walks over to the fridge to get a drink.

Character speech is is quotes, thoughts in italics, and all else in plain text.

I.E.: [Bob] "SonuvaBITCH!" This guy just won't fucking die... Bob thought as he slammed a fresh magazine into SIG 552 Commando.

Try to get in at LEAST one IC post per day, Monday through Friday. If you won't be able to do that for some reason, let me know in the OOC thread.

TheOneRonin
IC thread up and running. The game is a GO!

http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=18931

You all have 5 minutes of "in-game" time for small talk. I'll wait until tomorrow to start the briefing.
Fortune
That's an older version of my character sheet. The updated version should have him being born in 2036, and has a bit added to his Background.

Would you like a new copy?
Cthulhudreams
Last minute clarification about how Mosby's gear is screwed together. The skillwires have a muscle triggered switch to connect and disconnect them from his datajack - and have no other wireless capability. Unless I say otherwise, they are disconnected

Don't want anyone hacking into those wink.gif

There is also a second muscle triggered kill switch that can disconnect his eyes & ears from all his DNI and control rig. By default this is connected so I can change vision modes etc.

Edit: I like Doc Funk's use of Myer-Briggs - Mosby is clearly an ENTJ.
Cthulhudreams
And for the double post

I see the content has been updated.

Just watch out for mages *cough*Beckett*cough* hacking you.

Just wanted to send out a
'Hi. Looking forward to gaming with you all. This should be major ass-kickery fun.'
And don't hesitate to get yourselves (nearly) killed. I'll patch you up (and make you rise from the dead ...err, unconscious when necessary - no slacking off with Samantha around!).
I might even consider raising your morale.

Apart from that, please ignore my messy, early draft char background in TRO's spoiler for now.
I'll have a proper version soonish (still some corrections to the sheet pending as well).

Woot. No one's ever really mentioned liking that stuff before. I add it all the time. <wipes away a tear of happiness> All is redeemed.

EDIT: Ouch. Looks like my updated character sheet got screwed hard. Need me to resend it, Ronin?

Mosby has hacking skills - and I have no faith in those either wink.gif

Myer briggs gives a thumbnail sketch overview of a characters personality in 4 letters. Clever.
TheOneRonin
Just an FYI, I'm home with a sick child today, so I won't be on AIM, and I won't have much posting time either. I will, however, try to get the general mission briefing posted by this afternoon.

Also, though I hadn't mentioned it, please put all dice rolls/tests and game mechanics in the OOC thread...I think that will help keep the story flowing in the IC thread. Also, for things like Ivan's assensing test, I'll most likely post the results in PM. It will be up to the player to determin if/when/how that info is shared with the rest of the team.

And thanks again for joining my game. wink.gif
TheOneRonin
Oh, and everyone who's Charsheet on this thread is incorrect, go ahead and send the corrected version to me via PM. I'm not at work to day, so I don't have easy access to my e-mail.
TheOneRonin
Mission briefing is up. It's a little rushed, but sufficient for now.

Also, more specific details about the mission will be available on the ConsOps node. I suppose I should have mentioned that.
Fortune
Latest sheet re-sent. smile.gif
TheOneRonin
I'll have to post the updated character sheets tomorrow when I get back to work. For some bizarre reason, when I go to edit the first post in this thread, the text body only shows Mosby and O'kerrigan. The other character info is missing. My guess is that it's beyond the character count maximum or something like that.

At work, I have a text file with all the character info. I'll just paste the changes there, and then use it to completely recreate the first post.
Fortune
Unfortunately, posts containing multiple spoilers always have that problem on Dumpshock. Consider it a glitch in the system.
Cthulhudreams
A question that is likely to be extremely relevant - is stick and shock a valid type of ammo considering your house rules?

I can see the team becoming very good at non leathal takedowns over the next year or two!
Fortune

Blasphemy! Speak for yourself! wink.gif
Fortune
I wouldn't mind if the rest of the team drops me a note (PM is good) about weapon (type) preferences and the like when you all get the chance.
Ol' Scratch
Done. Though I don't know if I needed to add anything for any drones or vehicles (assuming we'll have access to those), so it may be revised once Rozhenko gets there and is briefed.
Cthulhudreams
Done.

As Mosby & Byrne atleast are gong to be uncomfortable with shooting up the country side, I suspect more importantly than guns the real priority is going to be all the surveillance gear, stealth stuff and non lethal weaponry we can jam into whatever transport we can beg/borrow/steal
Fortune
That other stuff is fine and all, but it ain't my problem. wink.gif biggrin.gif

Guns, on the other hand, is what Ashley lives for. And since we've been together for a while, he'd have a pretty good idea of not only your preferences, but also your attitudes towards guns and killing and stuff. So I figured I'd get a jump on things, because I still have to familiarize myself with TheOneRonin's weapons changes. smile.gif

Haha. Actually in the 'breakdown' helpfully provided by the commander it wasn't anyone in particulars problem. So I was planning on asking very nicely for you to atleast the armour side of it while you are down there wink.gif Nick's probably the best choice to assemble the other gear we'll need.

Ohh, that reminds me, add a squirt gun to the shopping list in the PM nyahnyah.gif
Fortune
I assumed weaponry to include armor and the like ... basically all the combat stuff. If that changes what you've already sent me, or if you have any particular ideas on the matter, feel free to yap at me about it either here or in PM (or even in the IC if you are so inclined biggrin.gif).

Nick is definitely the go to guy for vehicles and electronics.

Speaking of that Doc, I want my NeoNET Watchman. smile.gif

As for medical stuff ZenZen, we (read I) need Savior Medkits ... specifically. Anything else is gravy.

TheOneRonin
I've gotten more than a few questions about specialty ammunition, so I've posted my updated house rules on the website, under the ROE link.

Personally, I consider just about all of SR ammunition rules complete garbage, so I've redesigned my sorta from the ground up. I know some of you will be sad to see the disappearance of Stick N' Shock, Gel, Flechette, and EX-Explosive ammo, but my new variants make a lot more sense.

I'll answer more of your OOC questions as soon as I can.
Ol' Scratch
I am still playing my stupid gamelink on the flight over the pond! <sobs>

QUOTE

I already purchased my "must-haves" in that regard with my initial resources since they were accessories to implants, including a Savior Medkit. So Rozhenko won't be needed anything more in that department. Maybe the drugs from a good Stimpatch to use in his auto-injector if you deem it necessary. You're the medic afterall, ZenZen. smile.gif I's jus' an ig'nant ol' Riggah.

Ronin: I may have missed it in the IC thread, but if possible, can you let me know what the guidelines are going to be as far as vehicle requests go so I can start getting everyone's input on that, too, to save time once Rozhenko finally gets there?
Fortune

Actually, I saved the required money to do that very thing, then promptly forgot because I don't have a 'Gear' spot on my sheet. Oh, the perils and pitfalls of being anal!

But since they are integral to Ash's implants, he does need that particular item, and would definitely have had prior access to it.

Vincent will definitly give Ash some sort of vague list of what he'd prefer, but he'll leave all the precises choices to him, even thought he'd be happier working with firearms he's used to.
You go ahead and surprise me Fortune wink.gif

Basically:
Usual Special Agent loadout; one main sidearm (full side, or compact pistol), and one smaller backup (compact or subcompact...would even go for a small revolver)
For hightreat, yet discreet: compact SMG
For big bang: a tac shotgun (or a carbine if the shit is really intense)

Thats pretty much all I can think of in the firearms dep.
Fortune
We'll see what Ash can do. smile.gif

Keep in mind that weaponry also includes all the other 'offensive and defensive goodies' as well. Ash is also the demo guy (as far as I know), so if you need that kind of thing ...

I think it's a good idea to throw out some discussion on the other areas of expertise as well ... vehicles, electronics, medical, whatever. We're supposed to have known each other long enough to be able to function as if we are on intimate terms with one another, and so this type of thing would probably be more appropriate here.

I'm saving my IC arguments for something else entirely. Non-lethal, my ass! biggrin.gif

Hurry up, Nick! wink.gif
Mister Juan
Well, Vincent is trained to used all sorts of batons to subdue suspects and such, and is quite agile at grenade throws (things like flashbangs mostly).

As for the rest... nothing comes to mind just yet.

"Why are you grinning?"
TheOneRonin
LOL....yes, you guys will get to have a lot of fun. You get to run Bad Ass™ SpecOps operators who are playing shadowrunner. Time to show those punks how it's done!

One other thing I want you guys to keep in mind. All of you are feds...which mean you see shadowrunners as the badguys. You can mix and blend, and even get close to other runners, but at the end of the day, Shadowrunners are just misfit terrorist assholes that prey on the weak and deserve nothing better than a bullet in their brainpan.

And while a triple digit body count isn't a good idea, all of you are trained to take metahuman life in the course of your mission. You've all done it before, and you'll probably do it again.
Fortune
Don't say any more or you'll spoil the argument Ashley has planned. biggrin.gif
Ol' Scratch
Okay, looks like I'm going to be responsible for procuring vehicles, communications, and drones. If you have any preferences, please let me know. Vehicles will be limited to ones that blend in fairly well; nothing bigger than an SUV or normal Van.

For commlinks, please PM me with exactly what you want and what sort of software you'd like on it. Please keep it reasonable and within "civilian" norms and appropriate to your skill level. smile.gif Same goes for drones if you have any expertise with them (I don't think anyone else does, but though I'd mention it anyway).

Thanks in advance.

Hurry up, Nick! wink.gif

Mosby is pretty good with a surgeons knife - functional reserve (13 dice + gear rating) and can drive/fly stuff around.

Got great electronics/hacking skills so I need to pick up gear with that, because unlike you guys I didn't think to get it at chargen (damn)

And hey if I slot a demo activesoft I can probably do that too. We have a couple of rating 6 skillwires on the team, so every skill we can get a soft for.
Fortune
QUOTE (Doctor Funkenstein)
For commlinks ...

Y'all know what I want. biggrin.gif

Seriously though, set up a network rather than giving everyone (read me biggrin.gif) control ... and then just assign people crap (or an Agent to do it for them). Unless, that is, the person is of a skill level to be useful. smile.gif
Fortune
QUOTE (Cthulhudreams)

We didn't get to pick up any 'extra' gear at chargen. Just implant stuff. I don't think Doc even got any Programs of his own (other than maybe some pretty common stuff).
Ol' Scratch
Yep. Just the "must haves" for my implanted 'link.
Mister Juan
@Doctor Funkenstein
Vincent doesn't do any hacking or cracking... so he'll only need the basic security stuff to keep his own head safe from hackers, and anything to help along with regular computer/data search stuff.

As for vehicles.... cars are always nice. They blend in, you can dispose of them easily. The more generic, the better (read Ford Americar, and not Westwind 2072)
Galedeep
Yep, and a few bikes would be good. Flight will be Ivans preferred method of transport, but when it comes time to fire up a vehicle, he'd prefer a bike.

And he is good underwater, and casts spells/summons spirits. That's pretty much his only strong specialty. He's not too bad at the other basic skills, but he doesn't have any strong secondary field.
Fortune
You still need gear of some type (weapons, armor, electronics, all the other crap not on your sheet), so give us a list of preferences in our various specialties so we can fill your pockets. smile.gif
Galedeep
Alright, here goes:
Any mix of these guns, with pistols as a preference, and the rest just needed in case of heavy assault type-missions...in other words, I'd like the pistols, either the shotgun or the rifle, and the assault rifle would be good in a really bad situation. Of course, the FN-HAR could easily replace either shotgun or rifle.

Colt Manhunter S
FN Five-seveN smart
USAS 12
Remington Bolt Action 700/750 .30-06 Springfield
FN-HAR

I could use scuba gear, though air tanks wouldn't be a priority, as I can breathe underwater just fine with Oxygenate. Won't help the temperature, though. Let's see...climbing gear and the like won't be needed. A pair of, I guess you'd call them combat gloves, would be nice; you know, the gloves with the heavy duty knuckles built in? Eye and Ear gear would be good, with the whole basic package; varieties of sight options, select sound filter on the earbuds, you know the drill. Magesight goggles would be nice, but again, only selectively useful.

If he was provided with climbing gear, he could float ahead, set up the gear, and the rest could climb up easier after; of course, he could always just fly them up himself. That's easy too.

Ummm...A bike, like I mentioned before, though that's more a question of style than utility.

Medium armor, with a helmet; some optical vision magnification. Some linquisofts would be good, if we're going to use that sort of thing...you know, basic software, like mapsofts and the like.

Hand him some sensors, and he can set them up pretty handily using invisibility and flight, though there are plenty of ways to bug a place without magic. Some Stim patches would be good, though if it comes to that, we're screwed anyway, and maybe a few injections of poison or drugs that he could use when invisible to take out sentries, if he doesn't want to risk drain or if we wanted to give a different impression.

Alright, I'm out of ideas. That's all I can think of that he could use, and a good chunk of that stuff could be replicated with magic. Having it for the sake of redundancy is good, I suppose.

Is that a thorough enough list? wink.gif

Oh, as Ivan lacks any telepathic spells, he may have a habit of using Alter Memory to implant memories of him speaking to you, in the exact same setting as you currently are, at the same or a similar time. That'll be private communication, trying to make the most of my spells, so if he gives you a significant look followed by me typing up "He implants a memory", should we roll with it or roll for it? Not sure what the protocol on that one is. He's essentially making the spell work double duty as a limited one-way communication spell.
Fortune
Edit your IC post a little to reflect the contents of my post Galedeep, please. smile.gif
Galedeep
Oh, and just to double post, since it's so much fun, you guys can get me on AIM or whatever (I use Trillian) at Thagrapeofwrath. What are the SN's ya'll are using?

EDIT: Ah, see? It wasn't a double post after all. And the edit was already in place! I am good.
Fortune
It is? Ok.

I have had to edit almost every post I have made so far to reflect new details. biggrin.gif
Galedeep
Well, if you other jerks would just wait until I'm done posting, you wouldn't HAVE to edit so much.

Seriously.

I mean, c'mon. Jerks.

biggrin.gif
Cthulhudreams
I just added you with my furious puffin screen name smile.gif
TheOneRonin
You guys will have a Team Ready Room in the Department of State building where you can do most of your research, prep, and plan for the upcoming mission. You will probably all work from there.
Galedeep
Team Ready Room?

Alright, "Pizza party in the TRR!"
