Update on this:
#dumpshock on irc.otherworlders.org is up, running and open for business, with a few regular chatters on standby.
If the Dumpshock admins would like to endorse it as a semiofficial IRC for dumpshock, then I have put together a really quick and dirty HTML page with a web client (based on the excellent new Mibbit.com AJAX IRC client) pointing to it.
I'm hosting this at
http://www.toreadorvampire.co.uk/dumpshock at the moment. DS admins are free to grab that page (it's really minimalistic and self-contained, with no server-side logic involved) and customise it/host it on dumpshock.com as an official "chat on dumpshock" page. Seeing as I'm a web dev by trade, I can also do any work on it if you'd like (just give me a shout).
Also - I am still keen to turn over chanop status to any dumpshock admins that might be interested in helping run the channel. I'd like to make sure that the channel is closely linked with the web-based community (rather then being a forgotten bolt-on), and I think that having the presence of some DS admins (even as regular chatters) will help that a lot
