• Dropped Cha a point to bump up his Str. His bow can now defeat an armor jacket unless the target is also wearing form fitting or is a troll.
• Dropped a level of High Pain Threshold and added SINner so I could beef up his skills a bit.
• Dice Pools: He's up to a 7 DP for Outdoors skills and 6-8 DP for combat skills. That puts him in the "professional" category at least. He's also up to 10 DP for his infiltration, which is nothing to sneeze at.
• Shaved a point off his contacts to add some resources.

Picture
An athletic young man of Sioux hertage. His long, dark hair is in a braided ponytail. He wears neo-tribal chic, complete with a beaded headband that conceals his commlink trodes.

Background
He was born and raised on a back-to-the-land commune, deep in NAN territory, where he learned the "old ways" of hunting, fishing, riding, and lvingin in harmony with the land. Its was a virtual paradise, but the Tribesman always felt he was missing... something. When he was of age, he packed his things and headed for the nearest big city.
He's a bit of a fish out of water because of his upbringing, but he's quickly learning to adapt to the modern world. He's even acquired a basic commlink.
His ties to the eco-movement provide him with a cause and, perhaps more importantly, work when others in the corporate dominated shadows might shun him for his heritage.

Tweaking the Character
The character is pretty straight forward. BP from some negative qualities could be used to improve his Edge or Skills or possibly to add a few more positive qualities. The Tribesman has a small amount of leftover nuyen to buy incidental items or boost his starting cash. Cyberware and Bioware should be avoided for the sake of concept. Shaving a skill rank or two off the existing skills to add some specializations is another possibility.

Comments
The Tribesman is a very straight forward, organic character. Back in SR1 he was one of the only archetypes that took advantage of the bow's armor defeating abilities, he also had a bunch of oddball skills that people usually didn't take, like Biotech... and Horsemanship. All of which I retained for the SR4 update.

"Yeah, I've been around the block a few times. My track record is solid, but then you already knew that, otherwise you wouldn't have called me. Yeah, that was me that found that missing Lopez girl after Crash 2.0. One of my earlier cases. That's ancient history though, I've done a lot more since then. Most you probably haven't heard about. I like to keep a low profile unless the job calls for noise.

Version 2 Changes

• Dropped Photographic memory.
• Broke down the stealth group to give him Shadowing 4. Some other minor tweaks to skills.
• Shaved a point off a contact for some more nuyen. Fleshed out his commlink, including a couple hacking programs (Decrypt and Track), and bought a couple linguasofts.

Background
The Detective comes from a security provider or police force like Lone Star. Why he left is anyone's guess, but he's now working the shadows, using high-tech gadgets and old school information gathering techniques to get the information his employers need. He's not above doing other work, but its not what he does best.

Tweaking the Character
There's a lot of room in the qualities area to tinker; an Addiction would certainly be appropriate. He could be turned into a high-tech surveillance specialist by adding a couple more drones or some select pieces of cyberware.

Comments
Yet another non-cybered mundane. Unlike in eariler editions, I'm finding these types of characters suprisingly difficult to work with. There aren't many qualities (positive or negative) that really jumped out at me, so he's pretty much a normal (granted, a 400 BP normal, but whatever).

The SR1 era Detective was a very basic character. No cyberware, a good collection of contacts, modest gear. He had solid social skills, which made him a good Face for the group. He was also a good information gatherer. As combatants go, he really wanted to be somewhere else, like, another country (or a sniper roost), but he was still very good with his fists and guns of all kinds. The SR4 Updated version keeps most of that, with a few tweaks.

"Its not enough to just get up on stage and pour your heart out any more. You need the hardware, the ARE, and mostly importantly, the cred. Experience, I mean. People gotta know that you know, I mean, really know, what you're talking about when you're up there on stage. You have to have lived it or you're just going to end up sounding like every other remixed, redubbed, resynthed act out there.

"I get my inspiration from the streets. I like getting out there and getting my hands dirty. That's how I got into the business, you see. You don't worry about my music career being a liability. I've cleared my schedule for this. And no one with recognize me if I don't want them to."

Background
The rocker grew up near, but not quite on, the streets. Like many young people, she found comfort in music. She started programming music on her first commlink, a first generation Casio-KZ. Now she's all grown up and looking to be a star. She's trying establish her street cred and get some inspiration from shadowrunning. If she doesn't get killed in the process, she might actually make it big some day.

Tweaking the Character
The Rocker is a good cannidate for an Addiction or SINner. She might even be an Elf or Ork Poser. Giving her a rougher street edge could be done through additional skills, Edge, or positive qualities.

Comments
The rocker is another of those SR1 character with really good attributes and, well, not a whole lot else. I added the athletics and electronics groups primarily for use in her stage act. She got some cyberware to help enhance her act too.
