Personally, I have found Mr. Lucky to be highly over-rated.

Depends on your build, and how you play him. An Edge of 8 alone gives you quite the advantage, but an Edge of 8 along with other maxed-out areas makes you disgusting really quickly. Also, while an Edge of 8 isn't a match for smart tactics, an Edge of 8 *with* smart tactics = teh win.

It really depends on how fast Edge refreshes. But from personal experience (with a variety of refresh times), the character is just not as exceptional as some people (Hi Cain! biggrin.gif) make it out to be. In my opinion, if you are going for the 'lucky dude' thing, you'd be better of soft-maxing Edge and throwing those other BP elsewhere.

*nod* I've just always had a soft spot for the extremes, I guess.

Is it ever actually worth it to get exceptional attribute? I have a hard enough time justifying a simply hard maxed stat. When do you guys see it being worth it?

Like you said, it depends. But my experience, as long as you're not depending on Edge for every roll, you can use it more often than other players, and still have Edge pool left over, regardless of refresh rate. For example, if there's a player with an Edge of 2, you can use your pool three times as often as he does and still have some to spare.

Proper Edge management is key to this character type.

If you want an extreme character, it's worth it. Otherwise, just soft-max it.

The boni that Dynomitan and Qualia are offering cant be used for resisting drain value, arent there any augmentations that increase the intuition attribut?

Can't get enough NERPS!

I'm a N00B, so keep in mind that I don't know the ins and outs of the system. I guess it depends on your character concept from the book. You can be a bad-ass Mage with Magic, or you can be an awesome Street Samurai with high Reaction and Intuition for Initiative; if you get a heavy weapon that deals a lot of damage, you can play a good-old-fashioned game of rocket launcher tag!

Non-Essential Roleplaying Stuff. I.e., "maxing is irrelevant; make a compelling character!"

I see... I know someone who took that a step further: "usefulness is irrelevant! I'm making an interesting character!" Final result in DND: a blind fighter who used shields and worshiped a mushroom. Yes, it was THAT bad...

Bad? Awesome!
