Ok, so now since I've got a crew and we're hopefully going to be starting in about 12 hours, I've decided to start this thread and keep a log of my players' actions and (mis)adventures. First thing's first. Only Matt is an experienced roleplayer. Sara has some experience as well, but nothing major. Leah and Shannon are completely green. And NONE of them have ever played SR before.

So let's meet the team:

Brutus - Played by Matt - Brutus is your average troll street sam. He's got a few missions under his belt and earned a bit of a rep for having some morals. A Denver native, Brutus is street smart and knows when to back out of a raw deal and make sure that whoever put him there is paid back in full.

Blackrose - Played by Sara - A wunderkind but with a small problem; she's alergic to soy products. Needless to say, this put a serious strain on her parent's meager income. And when they couldn't handle the bills, they decided to collect on an insurance policy by hiring a group of runners for some wetwork. Brutus was a member of that team and decided he didn't like the idea of killing a teenager. Brutus left his team (mostly in pieces) and took Rose under his wing. Luckily the stress of that situation awakened her abilities as a technomancer.

Shanmanglow - Played by Shannon - Another Denver native. Though strictly small time, Shanmanglow has earned a decent living in the shadows thanks to Cat. A street shaman by trade, Shanman is a friend of Red Shadow, an older runner turned fixer from the Hub, and is waiting for her shot at the big life.

Launa - Played by Leah - Your archtypical smuggler. No really, she picked the smuggler archtype directly from the book for her character. Anyway, Launa is a kid, just like Rose. A second generation runner, her parents were part of the team that was able to get Masaru's egg back in '57. Finding her parents dead, she runs into Seattle cabbie Drake Hardedge (my old character) and he takes her under his wing. Not more then 24 hours later, one of Drake's crew is dead and he tells the rest of the team to scatter and points Launa southeast towards Denver and gives her a name of an old contact, saying he'll see her in 7 months.

Our story begins outside a Stuffer Shack in the Arvada barrens where Brutus and Rose are trying to find something cheap and non-soy to eat, Shanmanglow decides that it's time to eat after finding enough loose change over the past couple of days to buy a sandwich and Launa pulls up in her van seeing if she can figure out why the engine light's on. Meanwhile, no one notices the hurried woman carrying a bundle in her arms entering the store followed by a sedan coming to a stop across the street...

Just a quick update.

Food fight and Parliament of Thieves are completed. Write up should follow soon.

This is a great idea, and I look forward to reading it. Might I offer, though, that you spoilerize a lot of this stuff? There are a lot of players who have just found the Denver campaign.

You're going to make this difficult aren't you? nyahnyah.gif

Well, I plan on only writing things down that my players know and experienced. I'm not going to spoil any plot elements or behind the screen things. I'll put an example in spoiler below since it involves the second Mission

Prolouge "Food Fight" -

With the check engine light on her Bulldog flashing in her AG view, Launa pulls into a Shack in Avarda before heading into the Den and continuing her search. Meanwhile Shamanglow is inside trying to figure out what kind of sandwich she can afford and whether she should get something that resembles water or try and go for something flavored with something other than sewage. Brutus and Rose are busy trying to stock up on supplies such as medkit refills and flats.

After a few minutes of browsing, a woman rushes through the front doors before diving behind the first aisle. A sudden explosion rocks the building and blows the doors off their hinges and shatters the glass.

With a quickness that belays his size, Brutus puts his hand on his Ruger and with some mental effort, Rose turns the lights off.

Three men enter the building standing shoulder to shoulder. The leader (he has to be the leader, the guy has an AK) shouts over his shoulder, "Joey, you used too damn much semtex. You knocked out the damn lights."

A small cry is heard "sorry"

The leader turns back towards the main group. "All right then, now if you all will be so kind as to stay on the floor while we look for someone, this will be over without much more destruction."

Launa, being near the entrance at the automotive section, draws her Predator and takes a shot at Mr. AK. Unfortunately the shot is a little wide and she ducks behind the next aisle to avoid retaliation.

With what appears to be a magic user, covered in trinkets and pseudo-fetishes, creeping closer to the drink station, Shanmanglow draws her Manhunter and tracks the man in the darkness.

Brutus, towering over the shelves, takes aim at the guy standing next to Mr. AK and with his smartlink doing the calculations, squeezes the trigger. The shot is dead perfect and pegs the man between the eyes. "FUCK!" shouts Mr. AK as he rocks the AK to full auto and lets loose half the magazine at the large shadow at the end of the store. Without aiming, none of the bullets hit their mark, but they do make a rather nice mural in a rainbow of colors and various textures on the floor.

Wiz-kid drops down to a crouched walk as he makes his way towards Brutus and Rose. Blackrose notices Wiz's movement and points them out to Brutus, who fires at the mage. The bullet ricochets off his shield spell. Wiz-kid continues to creep closer towards Brutus as Shanmanglow creeps up behind him.

Launa peers out from her cover and buries a heavy pistol round into Mr. AK's shoulder. Mr. AK turns towards Launa and spits off a couple of rounds, hitting more junk then elf. The smiggler sprints to the next aisle over, putting more distance and shelves between her and the AK. Brutus takes aim back at AK and pelts him in the gut, while Wiz-kid starts a ritual that seems to be aimed at the troll when Shanmanglow reaches him and places her hand on his shoulder. "Tag," she says and Wiz drops to the ground.

Joey runs into the Shack, ready to help out his buddies. Sensing a new commlink, Rose assaults the poor bastard with her black hammer. Joey drops to his knees, clutching his head in pain. "Fuck, I didn't sign on for this shit," shouts AK as he drops his gun and runs away. Joey manages to follow, screaming as he runs.

With the sound of sirens in the distance drawing closer, Launa offers to give everyone a lift in her Bulldog. She starts the ignition and when everyone piles in she drives off, following Brutus' directions to a local safehouse.

Two days later, (Parliament of Thieves)-

Launa relates her story about what's she doing in Denver. Seems like she's been on her own for a few months when a kind stranger took her in. Almost immediately he tells her to head for Denver and to look for a guy named Doc. Doc was supposedly an old friend of Drake, the kind stranger and that he would help her out as best he could. She shows the others a holo of the guy that Drake had given her.

Shamanglow's comm beeps as she receives a call from Johnny Kage, her fixer. He tells her about a job where someone is looking specifically for fresh, new talent. Obviously, he thought of her and is passing the word along to meet Mr. J at the Denim. However she has to get there before 4 pm if she wants the job. Soon afterwords, Brutus gets a similar call about the same job. Brutus asks his fixer if he's ever heard of a guy named Doc and shows him the pix. Sammy, Brutus' fixer, thinks back about it and says that, "Yeah, I knew him. But I haven't heard from him in... shit since I think before the second Crash. I think he's somewhere in the PCC. Not the sector, but in the actual PCC lands." The troll tells Launa the information as they grab their meeting gear and head for the meet.

((Meeting gear being pistols and light to moderate armor. Maybe a knife or two.))

Inside the Denim, the group takes a seat and orders a round.

"Don't get a lot of you folks around here. You guys meeting someone?" asked the hostess.

"Yeah, Mr. Johnson. Could you let him know that we're here when he gets in?" replied Brutus.

"Mr. J? Oh, he's expecting you. He's in the back."

As the team follows the hostess into the back room, they are greeted by a man wearing a Hopi Raven mask. After everyone takes a seat, he speaks "Hello. thank you for coming on such short notice. I have a package that I would like to deliver to a friend. Of course, not everyone would like my friend to get his mail. And he does live across town. And he must have his mail by 7 tonight. The pay is 3000 with the usual up front. Are you still interested?"

"We're here aren't we? You better start giving us details if your friend wants his mail," quips the smuggler.

The others cast her a cold glace before Mr. Johnson continues. "Very well then. I represent the Koshari leadership council. I need this letter delievered to 4923 Billings in the Montbello District of the UCAS sector." As he mentions the letter, a large envelope is slide across the table marked "CONFIDENTIAL" and carries a large tamper proof seal.

"You mentioned that people wouldn't want to your friend to have this. Who?" asks Shanmanglow.

"Several people. Both private parties and government organizations. Now I suggest you leave as rush hour starts soon, and I'd hate for the package to be late."

The group grabs the letter and heads for their Bulldog. 20 minutes later, Rose tells them that the Grid says to expect long delays at the PCC-CAS boarder. Brutus calls up Sammy and asks if she knows any coyotes.
"Yeah, I got one that owes me a mark. I'll tell him to expect you two."
"Uh, there's four of us," replied the Troll.
"Running with a team again? Anyway he'll be waiting for you at Sloan Lake."

Meeting the coyote, he climbs into the Van and takes the wheel.
"What kind of driver relies on GPS? Damn kids," he remarks as he takes them into some old tunnels.
"Where the hell are we? It's not on my maps," asks the Launa.
"Damn right it's not. If it was, I wouldn't be using them. We're in some Aztlan security tunnels."
"I thought Aztech was kicked out of here?" wonders the shaman.
"Doesn't mean all of them left," answers the troll.

Coming into the evening light from the dank, musty tunnel is almost a sense of relief. The coyote pulls the van over and hops out. "Alright kids, I've done my part. Now git." Launa takes her place back at the wheel and heads off to the main highway.

Shamanglow slides into the passenger seat, shuddering from whatever was inside the tunnels. "Ug... I didn't like that. Felt like something was just wrong in there," the shamman remarks as she dials her fixer.
"Rusty, got any coyotes along the CAS-UCAS boarder?"
"Geeze Shan, you know I hate that nickname. Yeah. I got one. Why?"
"Biz. Tell her to look for a white Bulldog. Three elves and a troll."
"Gotcha. She'll meet you at Havana and 6th."

"DAMMIT!" shouts the driver causing Brutus and Rose to look out the front windshield.
The other three all remark at the same time, "Gridlock."

Three lanes over on the right side of the van, 4 well dressed Asian men get out of a black Skyline while 4 Asian metahumans (Dwarf, ork, human and elf) exit a resturant from the left. Both groups start walking through traffic towards the van. The ork and what appears to be the leader of the humans eyeball each other before turning their attention towards the group. "Kind sirs, you appear to be carrying a package that we would like to take a look at," states the ork.
"What the hell? No we're not! Buzz off," shouts Rose.
"Otome..." says the man on the right, "Word travels fast in this small town. We know that it's a package from the Koshiri to the Mafia."
Rose gets an impish smile on her face. "Fine then. We'll let the winner get the prize."
When the Asian man about to speak, the ork simply says "Fair enough," as a jet of flame shoots out of his hand at the man, setting him on fire. Guns are drawn and shots are fire, panic erupting in the traffic. The van lurches forward through an opening and speeds away from the ensuing firefight, knocking several smaller cars out of the way.

A few minutes and turns later, the van is outside the dilapidated parking garage at Havana and 6th. As the team drives around a head appears next to a dumpster and starts talking. "Y'all the ones Johnny sent over?" she asks in a slight southern drawl.
Shanmanglow sticks her head out the window, "Yeah that's us."
A gray cloak appears around and below the body as the ruthenium polymers deactivate. The woman pushes aside the dumpster and slides open a revealed gate. She then gets to the driver's door and shoos Launa out of her seat.
"What took y'all so long?"

"The usual," answers the troll.

Making their way through the tunnel, the coyote plays tour guide. "These places have got some history to them. Word has it they were old sewer tunnels converted from bomb shelters built back in the 20th."

Emerging into the fading daylight, the coyote gets out of the van and activates her cloak. "Y'all come back now, ya hear?" she says as she pulls the hood over her head, completely disappearing from sight.

"How we doing on time?" asks the driver.

"It's about six. We're ok," answers Rose. "Barring any catastrophic failures." Suddenly the engine starts knocking before dying altogether. "Like that."

I little ding appears on Rose's comlink, signaling a new message. She flicks it on and it simply states, "Meet me for a drink?" the sender is traced back to a man sitting at an outside table at a nearby bistro. Launa tries to get the engine to turn over while Brutus and Rose go and talk to the man. As they walk over, Rose starts talking to herself, "Look, is there anything you can do? I don't care, just remove whatever is making our car not work." He motions for them to have a seat and enjoy a glass of wine. "Sorry, but we're busy," answers the troll.
"Then I'll get to brass tacks. I wish to scan the package you're carrying. I promise it will leave no trace and I can even offer you a bit of compensation."
"I said no."
"Perhaps if you can ARARAGHGHGHGH----~~~" the man suddenly falls face first into the table.
Brutus looks at Rose and then the van as it starts back up again. Rose simply says, "Problem's fixed."
As they walk back Brutus simply asks "How....?"
"I had a bound sprite. I told him to remove whatever was blocking our car. And he did."
"Shit... I hope he's ok."
"Who cares."

35 minutes later, the van pulls up to the posh estate of 4923 Billings. As the vehicle rolls to a stop at the gate, Launa pushes a comm buzzer and in her AG view, a Hispanic man in a poorly tailored suit tells them to state their business.
"Lu-lu's Delivery Service. Package from one Mr. Johnson to a recipiant at this address. COD."
The rest of the team just sighs in disbelief as the gate opens. A group of 5 Hispanic man great the team at the door. After a brief display of power and wealth, the team is lead downstairs to the basement. Inside is a shooting range where an elderly man with a cane in one hand and a Ruger in the other is throwing lead downrange, hitting a target but missing a VERY frightened elf. After 6 rounds, the old man places his piece on the counter and turns towards the team. "Ahh.. I see that Raven came through for me. I believe that is mine," he says as he motions towards the package. Shanmanglow hands it over and the old man opens it up revealing a packet of paper. He flips through it, "Good, good. Everything's still in order. Thank you and it was a pleasure doing business with you fine folks. Micheal," one of the men that escorted the team through the house steps forward. "Pay these folks and send them on their way."

With that the teams heads for the van and Micheal gives them each a credstick with 1500 on it.

"Well, that wasn't so bad," says the smuggler.
"Easy money," remarks the shaman.

((Sara - Hey John, we've got some friends that want to play Shadowrun.

Matt - Wait, with us? I thought you meant as a side game.

Sara - Well, this is the only Shadowrun game that I know of.

John (me) - ??? Ok... ))

So it looks like we're getting a couple of free agents on the team. Don't know how long their contract is though. The idea is that if they like the game, they can continue with us. But for starters, they're going to just play hired guns and it'll be up to them if they want to tell their life stories.

And sorry about the lack of update last week but we didn't play since, there wasn't a post.
