Full Version: Halo Conversion of Shadowrun

I am not meaning Halo with elves, orcs, trolls, dwarfs and the rest of the awakened world. I am meaning Halo that uses shadowrun cyber/biotech, qualities, combat system, vehicle operation and matrix hacking.

Has anyone attempted it? Or done it and succeeded/failed? I've been trying to work on it using arsenal, SR 4 hb 1.3, runners companion, augmentation and unwired. So far I got a half a spiral in notes since I only get to work on it in class.

Has Catalyst games tried to approach Bungie for licensing rights for Halo? I think it'd make sense for the current hands of SR to take on Halo. It'd be awesome.

I personally don't think Steven Jackson Games or Wizards of the Coast would be entirely too capable of being faithful and keeping things in the vein of Halo.

Just a thought I had but seriously I wanna know what ya'll think of that?

I think Bungie doesn't own the rights and therefore, they might be a little harder to obtain from Microsoft than Bungie.

As an interesting side note however, Bungie owns the licenses to their other games such as Marathon. The Halo license (Halo 1, 2, 3, and the Hero Clix) belongs to Microsoft Game Studios.

A Halo RPG using SR4 rules? That actually sounds mad fun. Fighting covies would be much more tactical, however, how would you balance the overwhelming abilities of a spartan with other players, and likewise how would you balance even grunts and marines as even grunts are supposed to be supieror in some ways, to humans (spec-ops anyway). It's certainly an interesting prospect. I would like to see it some way. But could you imagine...

well because I posted this and against the gm of my current game groups reservations I started working on a conversion. Though it's in loose leaf college note book paper form. I have over 50 pages of material and am just fleshing stats out. I just finished spartan modifications as in the type of cyber/bioware they would have and it'd be at delta grade. Since they're spartans hundreds of millions of creds are poured into them. I also did races for the game that wants to build their own. I am going to try to type it up in word over the weekend and then make a pdf of it if I can get my photoshop to not crash my computer.

Seriously though it was fun talking it through with fellow dissidents because we worked all night at it. The weapons are all super powerful to reflect how deadly halo is to every one in the universe.

Any thoughts?

Well folks here's a spartan II. Granted it's a 500 point construction. Spartans don't pay for their gear. And "reclaimers" are a sub-race of humans.
I know we all got ideas on it but I was working with the books and searching through SR rules for the most accurate representation without making more stuff up. Weapons are more lethal than regular SR. But it's all open for interpretation. Tell me whatcha think. smile.gif Note that this is a spartan at the start of the human covenant war. hence the 500 BP construction. I did not choose to add Qualities to the characte but ya'll can. I'll have more up later.
