Well, I'll say next sundays, ladies and gents.
DWC
Same battime? Same batchannel?
Shalimar
I am goodat any time during the day Sunday but I need to be gone by 4PM EST/1PM Pacifc
crizh
I'm good this Sunday pretty much as long as you like from 1500 Zulu onwards.
DWC
I'm good for any time after 1700 GMT, with no cutoff.
Shalimar
That would put us at:

1700-2100 Zulu on Sunday if we play the whole 4 hours
ABLE TO ATTEND: Brent + Charlie + Truth + Gecko + Noowan + Etoile

UNKNOWN: Are you able to make it Tom?
bmcoomes
I know Noowan will be there, as for Tom & Etoile I don't know yet.
Oenone
I should be there yes. I maybe running my offline Shadowrun game the night before, but that'll just mean I'll need to make up some coffee before we play to wake me up.
deadman

I will be there but the Hawks play at 10am pst so the earler the better (big Hawks fan here even if they are 2-6)
Little Johnson
ill be there
bmcoomes
We are on for Sunday, I'll be there at 1600 Zulu and if your get everyone we'll start. I have to leave for my sister-in-law's b-day at 1900 Zulu. So I'm ready is everyone else?

Brent
Shalimar
Yep, everyone has said they are in for 1700 zulu so we should be good to go. That gives us about 2 hours to do the actualrun itself since we got right up to the point of the intrusion.
crizh
I better go and get some sleep then...
bmcoomes
Etoile: *Waves*
Crizh: Howdy.
Crizh: dieroller sr4
Crizh: that's not right...
Etoile: dieroller sr4
Tom Green: set diceroller sr4
Etoile: Erm, no it isn't. An I can't remember how to make it work either.
Tom Green: that’s not it either lol
Crizh: set diceroller sr4

Charlie: sorry for the late arrival
Etoile: We should probably arrange some kind of password.
DWC: stupid Ciomcast
Charlie: whats wrong DWC?
DWC: my cable modem just reset itself for no discernable reason
Noowan: no problem G.O.D. seems to be missing
Charlie: ah
Noowan: its Comcastic!
Etoile: Still another 45 minutes until we're due to start.
DWC: fortunately, I only have to deal with them for two more weeks
Charlie: mine does it too, not sure why, and even when I was working at Comcast I didn't get an answer out of the reps
Charlie: as to why it happened
Noowan: cus they dont know why it happens
Noowan: so how is every one?
Charlie: good
Etoile: I've never heard a good word said about that comcast and I don't even live in a country where they operate.
DWC: life is good.
Noowan: life would be great if the Hawks won today
DWC: Comcast coasted on the strength of their monopoly on high speed internet for ages, though now that Verizon is getting their act together, people are abandonning them wholesale
Brent: Morning everyone
Tom Green: morning
Brent: Looks like everyone beat me here.
Noowan: where we are we have 2 choices cable or not
Noowan: thats bad when G.O.D. is late
Brent: I'm not late
DWC: just less early
Brent: I'll be one min.
Noowan: BRB Coffie and drugs(meds)
DWC: back in a few. I'm going to grab some breakfast
Tom Green: soycaf all the way around
Etoile: *Is on the fungus beer instead*
Crizh: mmmm beer, that's a good idea
Brent: OK I'm back.
Brent: How is everyone doing?
Crizh: cool
Tom Green: doing fine
Etoile: I have two weeks off work and both Fallout 3 and Red Alert 3 to play. All in all pretty damn good.
Charlie: we should probably do a bit of a recap to get everyone on the same page
Tom Green: ready to not get ganked by 3 mages a blood spirit and a cpl mechs
Crizh: about sums it up
Charlie: well, we have concealment 10, everyone in chameleon suits (with thermal damping) and a force 10 Earth Spirit as back up so we might be fine
Etoile: I really wish we'd got those stealth hang-gliders for this run. Less likely to be killed by the mech's if we're on the side of the dam.
Crizh: mechs with gaus rifles?
Charlie: hehe
Tom Green: we have a force 10 consealment
Noowan: ok back
Tom Green: chamelion suits
Tom Green: and some sinfultration skills
Charlie: well the mechs are not on site and are maybe 20-40 minutes away
Noowan: and a few sprits
Green: i think thats about as stealthy as we can get
Tom Green: im also pretty resiliant to magic detection if i need to go in first
Charlie: we have Noowans 4 bound spirits plus his spirit of man at force 3
Charlie: well we are going in at night when their major spell slingers are off
Etoile: I know all that. I just wanted an excuse to have one of the gliders. Because they're cool... nyahnyah.gif
Tom Green: ( i have 18 dice od infultration + 5 levels of cloaking pluse the cham suit)
Brent: In the last session we were all set to go and were crossing the lake.
Crizh: nice
DWC: nothing says you can't pick up a glider later smile.gif
Crizh: we also have some groovy nano-bullets
Noowan: yep
Crizh: is Tom on overwatch?
Noowan: belive so
Brent: Cutter was going to be over watch with the Guass
Tom Green: he can be but hes useless once you go inside except to watch for incomeing
Tom Green: yah thats rite i remember now
Crizh: I got two clips of nano-bullets for the Barrett
Crizh: which is Tom's weapon
Tom Green: ok great
Crizh: presumbably you can't use them
Crizh: in a gaus rifle
Brent: Nope not in the guass but I can use Tom's rifle
Crizh: are you bringing the barrett inside?
DWC: One last thing I was unclear on. Does the plan involve Truth going in, or hiding someplace working through a satellite link?
Crizh: assuming that's alright with tom
Tom Green: the barret is stoed in an equipment case with the as16
Crizh: sat link is probably safer
Etoile: I thought Truth was best served in the getaway vehicle. Doing remote coverage.
DWC: that's what I figured, since he's just going to be in the way if his meat body is in the middle of things going to hell
Crizh: going to hell?
Brent: Right I thought you would be with the vechile too
Charlie: when we go in, who is doing the hacking?
Crizh: laughs
Brent: Most like an agent.
Crizh: Gecko I guess since Truth isn't on hand
Charlie: ok
Crizh: I've worked up some pretty kick ass agents..
Tom Green: ok just so everyones clear we start the shooting only as a last resrot rite?
Crizh: definitely
Brent: Yeah I think we should go to a Password.
Crizh: post on the ooc thread?
Brent: I'll PM everyone on Dumpshock with one for next sunday
DWC: of course
Tom Green: im pretty sure if it goes south we will lose
Crizh: it won't be pretty
Brent: That is the case with most runs
Crizh: don't fancy tangling with an initiated twisted adept
Etoile: If it does, then what's the plan? Split up and scatter?
Brent: well, are we ready to go game on?
Crizh: jump of the dam
Charlie: well, the adept isn't on duty
Tom Green: yes ready
Noowan: we die
Charlie: yes, ready
Noowan: yep
Crizh: yup
DWC: yep
Crizh: how many members on the TacNet?
GM: (ok here we go)
GM: (Looks like cool.gif
Crizh: all set here
Charlie: (There are 7 runners, and if you add one of Truths Drone's thats cool.gif
Crizh: I've got four agents working as a team scanning continuously for wireless nodes
Truth: (assuming it's still Rating 3, Truth's got 4 drones with the sensor rating to be independantly part of the network)
GM: (There is Cutter too)
Noowan: who has the boat?
Charlie: (As a reminder the 7 of us, the Van, and 1 of Truth's drones are under Concealment 10)
GM: We have a Hovercraft
Charlie: (and the spirit itself)
GM: We are at the Yellow star, the landing site of the hovercraft
Noowan: joke:}
Crizh: Working as a team the Agents have 18D6 every combat round to find nodes.
Crizh: hopefully they can spot trouble before it spots us
Etoile: (OH and we're using direct laser links to communicate right?)
Crizh: cutter is
Crizh: we'll have to rely on hidden wireless
Crizh: unless we use directional links
GM: it's is Monday June 2nd, 2070 at about 2300 hours
Crizh: or fibre
Etoile: Fibre-optics just wouldn't work.
Truth: (I was relying on satellite links)
Crizh: do you not need to be stationary for that?
GM: (man my kids are so cute)
GM: (anywho)
Crizh: sicko
Charlie: (If we are at the gold star, what part of the facility is our target?)
GM: Cutter will move up to the top of this hill and set up his post.
Truth: (nope. vehicular satellite links are made for remote operating drones)
GM: the square
Charlie: (ok)
Noowan: we go to where we need to be the dam
Etoile: (I don't think there's anything in the rules about needing to be stationary for the satalite uplinks)
Etoile: (Regardless of if they're vehicle ones or not)
Charlie: "Ok guys, time for us to get going."
Crizh: you're right
Crizh: my bad
Crizh: sat com's it is
Tom Green: (do we need individual infaltration rols or only if someone peirces the concealment?)
Cutter: I'll setup here at the red cross.
Cutter: Yeah, a inflatration roll would be nice.
Etoile: (Erm they still don't help us on the ground. As they put out signals just like usual. We'd need direct line communications to prevent anyone overhearing us)
Crizh: folks that don't have a 10Dice pool don't even get to roll
Crizh: which is why they're in hidden mode
Crizh: and I'm scanning
Crizh: for telematics infrastructure
Noowan: last I heard we had IDs that put us on a work team
Crizh: yup
Truth: (can always keep them on the ground, in the hovercraft and only launch them if they are needed)
Tom Green: (does tach net add to infultration dp?)
Crizh: but our com's will give us away
Crizh: yes
Charlie: (yes it does)
Etoile: (The problem isn't the drones. It's the Tacnet's constant encrypted signals and someone who happens to have a sniffer program)
Tom Green: (how many dice we talking for that)
Crizh: 3

Etoile: (Someone should have told Gecko to leave his drumkit at home)
Charlie: (Edge maybe?)
Cutter: He can make a free reroll
Charlie: (We have a -10 to detect us, -14 if its done visually)
Crizh: a glitch isn't a fail
Crizh: just an unforeseen cock up
Noowan: sorry we are roleing for what reason
Crizh: determined by brent
Tom Green: (infultration for anyone that can pierce the concealment)
Truth: (rolling for the concealed LEBD-1 shadowing the group)
Truth: [16d6] => [3,1,6,2,4,5,2,6,6,4,1,4,6,2,6,4] Hits: (6)
GM: yeah it's an infultration roll
Tom Green: Important question whos carrieing the package
Tom Green: i volenteer
Etoile: (What skill is installing it?)
Noowan: not I
GM: Hardware
Tom Green: ok not me
Crizh: I have Hardware
Crizh: but only dp of 6
GM: I think it'll be gecko
Tom Green: better than mine
Tom Green: i would need a skillsoft
Etoile: (I'd have thought industrial mechanics would have been appropriate for fitting it inside a dam?)
Crizh: it's being pluggd into a computer
GM: Well the part fits on a reactor.
Tom Green: Its an agent of sorts i think
Crizh: I volunteer someone else
GM: there is allso the jump drive with the agent
Truth: (can Truth biodrone Etoile through her move by wire? nyahnyah.gif)
Crizh: ewww
GM: Sorry nope
Etoile: (Nope. It's wireless is off.)
Charlie: (etoile got skillwires given to her for the job, so it would make sense that would be incuded in but thats up to brent)
Tom Green: ok recap on the package we have a jump drive with agent that takes no skill to install and a package that takes hardware correct?
GM: Yeah I'm fine with having the needed skillsofts
GM: Correct
Tom Green: then ill cary it
Tom Green: I have the most chance of not getting cought
Charlie: (sounds good. Brent, are we detected?)
Crizh: or irradiated
GM: one sec. really one on thing has a chance to see you asterly.
GM: [6d6] => [3,2,6,3,4,2] Hits: (1)
GM: Nope no one is detected
GM: You can move up to the first gate to the dam with ease.
Crizh: have we detected any nodes on
Crizh: the other side
Crizh: of that door
Crizh: ?
GM: So far the only nodes are the ones of the workers.
GM: And you at a gate not a door.
Charlie: Are there any wards?
Crizh: k
GM: Nope no wards.
Noowan: is the gate gaurded or is it a pass card
Tom Green: can we pass through the gate or do we have to spwipe in with our fake passes
Truth: **Truth drums his fingers idly, watching things unfold **
Charlie: how often is this gate used? ie can we walk in after someone swipes their card or is it so infrequent we have to hack it?
Tom Green: we have legit passes
Crizh: and massive concealment
Crizh: passes activated by invisible people = bad
Tom Green: we are not invis as far as i know..people just dont pay atention to us
Etoile: (Oh and we have nano-paste disguises on)
Tom Green: like when i go to work and swipe in i dont usually look at the guy behind me
GM: it is passkey
GM: and you can hack it,
Tom Green: is it a havck or an infultration to bypass it?
Tom Green: hack
GM: hack
Charlie: um...
Charlie: I have rating 6 pass key
Crizh: use our paskeys?
Noowan: we do have the pass key IDs
Charlie: or we have legitimate ones
Noowan: use the pass key
Tom Green: lets not risk an alarm with a hack this early
Noowan: I
Charlie: just use a legitimate one where there isn't a cahance of getting caught
GM: yeah can try the laget passkeys.
Tom Green: Tom walks forward and slides th pass key..pauses a sec and walks through
GM: the light on the card reader blinks red and reads no acess allowed
Crizh: oops
Charlie: > Charlie transmits
Charlie: "Not good, very not good"
Crizh: hack?
Tom Green: have to
Cutter: >>You guys have worker ID's not Security or lab<
Charlie: We can use my Maglock Passkey, it should work, its top of the line
Noowan: ok lets try the ones that were given us
Crizh: is there another entrance?
Etoile: (Noowan, that /was/ one of the ones we were given)
Charlie: (Noowan, we just used the ID we were given)
Tom Green: try it charlie
Noowan: ok
Cutter: >>Us the magelock passkey<
Charlie: (it doesn't matter where we go we still wont have security cards)
Charlie: Charlie slots the r6 Maglock passkey
Etoile: (Doesn't a maglock passkey also run off hardware?)
Crizh: no it's Rating vs Rating
Charlie: (they are just swipe cards, no opening or dealing with any hardware)
Charlie: [6d6] => [3,6,1,1,1,6] *GLITCH* Hits: (2)
Crizh: oh god
Charlie: Spend an edge
Charlie: to negate the glitch
Charlie: (down to 2 edge)
Etoile: (Oh sorry I was thinking of opening it up and screwing with the wiring)
GM: K, [3d6] => [4,5,2] Hits: (1)
Crizh: we can try that too
GM: Your in
Crizh: Gecko leave s
Mr. Johnson: There is only one door leading into the dam
Crizh: a concealed laser link here
Tom Green: Head for the door
Crizh: just in case
Etoile: Head on through, staying confident and calm.
GM: ok, you have a hidden laser link set.
Charlie: we'll have to head into the only door since we don't have spirits with astral gate ;p
Tom Green: ( brent did we exceed the time we were given on the fake IDs?)
GM: In side you detect two nodes
GM: Nope,
GM: it's still with in the time frame.
Crizh: he places a concealed waveguide every time he goes around a corner
Crizh: what sort of nodes?
Truth: (crap. spilled pasta sauce. afk a sec)
Tom Green: "Heads up everyone things are definitly on the flakey side here"
Crizh: putz
Charlie: are there any wards on the dam walls itself?
GM: Nope, on wards
Crizh: I doubt it
Etoile: (Aren't the passes we have worker ones and we simply tried to open a security gate with?)
GM: no wards
Charlie: (you said no earlier when I did my scout, just double checking)
Crizh: probably
GM: Yes, and they didn't work geting into the dam it self
Noowan: got to run something just came up
GM: I'll run Noowan as an NPC for now
Charlie: ok
Tom Green: on into the dam
GM: What about the nodes on the other side of the door?
Crizh: any idea what they are?
Tom Green: (have we passed the dam door yet into the dam propper?)
GM: from what the agents can tell there guards from the PAN
Crizh: o
Charlie: eep
GM: Yes the door it not locked.
Crizh: they'll notice it open
Tom Green: Just keep moveing
Truth: (b)
Tom Green: Leave it open they might think it didn’t get shut and just slid open
Charlie: are people coming in and going out of the dam at all? (ie people we can tag along behind?
GM: Nope at this hour no one is coming or going.
Etoile: Tagging along will be tricky if they close the door on us.
Tom Green: if it’s that slow we wont be noticed i bet
GM: if you look through the door which are double glass door's like a stores, you see in side there is a deck check point.
Tom Green: Tom moves forward and cracks the door open a sliver to see if there are guards on the other side
GM: leading to two hallways, the guards you can see there sitting down be hind the desk
Crizh: are their comms encrypted?
Tom Green: oh ok tlet me mdify that then
GM: yes, but there is no radio traffic
Crizh: worried about biomonitors
Tom Green: Is there an ash can outside for people to come out and smoke?
GM: The scanners are be hind them at the hallways
Crizh: scanners?
Charlie: what kind of scanner's? can we tell?
GM: yes, there is a ash can.
GM: looks, like there MAD
GM: but there is room to get my them.
GM: Would you like a hint.
Charlie: ok, if we can just go around them then thats easy enough. We sneak through under our concealment and then go around the scanners
GM: I already gave you a way in.
Tom Green: ( i missed somethig then brent)
GM: the guards are sitting behind the desk and cann't see the door.
Crizh: ah
GM: just don't make any noise
Charlie: ok
Tom Green: ok walk through as close togather as we can
Crizh: so we crack the door and slip inside
Crizh: infiltration?
Etoile: (If they can't see the door, how can we see they're sat at the desk?)
Tom Green: backs to us
Truth: (obviously, the drone is staying outside. Someone remind me to get a doberman or a steel lynx after this)
GM: Sure an infultration roll would be nice.
Charlie: and then move slowly being a quiet as possible
Tom Green: [21d6] => [1,4,2,4,3,2,1,5,1,5,1,3,1,1,2,3,1,1,1,2,3] Hits: (2)
Charlie: [5d6] => [3,2,5,6,5] Hits: (3)
Crizh: -14 dice to hear Gecko
Etoile: (Who on earth has a security desk which can't see the door?)
Crizh: [16d6] => [1,6,2,2,5,3,1,5,1,6,1,5,2,3,6,2] Hits: (6)
Etoile: [15d6] => [1,2,3,5,6,1,6,1,5,3,3,2,2,1,4] Hits: (4)
Charlie: (maybe they are watching a game of combat biker?)
Tom Green: (its a check point not a guard post ..like a receptionests desk)
Charlie: (and hudled over the screen with their backs to the door)
GM: well it's a flaw that was built before they took the dam over and havn't fixed it yet, the idea was the desk is armored so they have cover and durning hours they are to be standing.
Tom Green: ( lol 21 dice with the tach and i get 2 hits chuckel)
GM: OK so everyone is by the guards and the passed the MAD, now you have to go down a few floors.
GM: how are you going to get down the elavator or the stair well
Crizh: stairwell
GM: good choice.
Tom Green: " we bette take the stairs ..little or nochance someone will be in there this time of night
Etoile: Stairs every time.
GM: You move down to the target floor but there is a passkey on the door.
Crizh: Etoile?
Etoile: (Hmm?)
Crizh: sorry, charlie?
Tom Green: ( its hardware + logic sextended test 1 combat round interval)
Crizh: mmmm sextended..
Charlie: (I can use my key again if we want to, but I'll run out of edge if we need to do it too often given my luck)
GM: LOL setended
Tom Green: lol
Charlie: [6d6] => [5,1,6,1,6,3] Hits: (3)
GM: [6d6] => [6,5,2,1,2,3] Hits: (2)
Etoile: (Charlie can just pass the key to someone else if she's running low)
Truth: (guess Truth should have come along smile.gif )
GM: Your in
Crizh: can we jam the lock?
Tom Green: better not
GM: inside there is a hallway and there are labs all the way down.
Charlie: (why would we want to jam it?)
Tom Green: dont want an "open door" alarm
Etoile: (Don't. The doors are electronic. Which means there will be a record of when it closes/opens)
Crizh: so we don't have to do that again to e
Crizh: get out
Crizh: s'pose
Charlie: why would we? security doors keep people out, not in (unless they are cell doors)
GM: Are you guys moving to the target lab? for the agent first or the reactor?
Tom Green: yah usulay getting out of a stairwell is easy
Crizh: lab?
Tom Green: lab will be more secure lets do it last
Tom Green: and the lab is fast
GM: Yes, you put the agent in the target computer in a lab.
Tom Green: plug in the jump d rive and dgo
Crizh: so reactor then?
Tom Green: lets hit reactor first
Tom Green: yes
GM: from the maps you have the reactor are at the end of the hall.
Etoile: Any signs of security scanners down here?
GM: the agents detect more nodes down the hallway around the corner.
Crizh: type?
GM: No but you can guess that there is a guard post around the corner
GM: Gurads again do to there PAN's
Crizh: more sneaking?
GM: The door behind them is controlled by there control board
Tom Green: 2 of them?
GM: Yes two
Truth: (things still quiet outside?)
Charlie: (just to be clear, have we already installed the agent?)
Crizh: don't think so
GM: Things are all normal on the outside.
Tom Green: no agent is last
Crizh: cameras in the hallway?
Tom Green: we still in the stairwell?
GM: (no we have not installed the agent)
Etoile: (We haven't been anywhere near the lab yet. The agents mentioned atm are Gecko's ones, loaded in his commlink.)
GM: you in the hallway before the corner.
Etoile: Any vents or ducting about we could use?
GM: Yes there are cameras.
Crizh: drop ceiling?
Tom Green: " i can take them out with gel rounds in the berrett .. its silenced"
GM: Nope no drop ceiling,
Crizh: ditto with the Ingram
Crizh: we need to make sure
Crizh: they don't have
Crizh: biomonitors
Crizh: linked to the security system
Charlie: (ok, this could be an issue, if we have to take these guys down to get in it could set off security, not to mention it would give the Azzie's the idea that someone was actually here and they need to search for anamolies)
GM: Nope, none that are deteced.
Etoile: "If you shoot them, we're locked out on the wrong side of the door."
Crizh: could they just fall asleep
Crizh: ?
Charlie: (I could drop them with a stunball if they don't have counterspelling
Etoile: (We have schematics from before the place was sold right?)
GM: If you shoot them you'll have acess to there cotrols so you get in.
Tom Green: "im sure i could put them to sleep iwith a well placed shot to the head"
GM: Yes you have the plans of the place.
Crizh: ditto
Tom Green: they appear to be armored?
Crizh: bruises might be a bit suss though
Etoile: Wait. They're not on the other side of the door they have controls to then?
GM: You can't tell unless your looking around the corner.
Charlie: "Then there would be evidence, I can do it with a spell and then clean up the spell traces"
GM: They are on this side of the door and they do have the controles.
Crizh: go with charlie and bullets as backup?
Tom Green: ok no matter how we do this we will leave trace at this point
Tom Green: better start thinking of a way to misslead them as to what went on here
Charlie: (Brent, how does a stunspell appear? Does it appear to have just put the guys to sleep, or is it like a sudden jolt, or something else?)
GM: Not really with a spell, you can clean it up easly
Charlie: ( I mean stunball is called a sleep spell so thats why I am wondering)
GM: it would look like they got hit really hard in the back of the head and passout.
Etoile: (Why do they have a reactor in a hydroelectric power plant anyway?)
Tom Green: ok i agree back up gell rounds i get out the barrett and load gels in
Truth: (backup power? good place to hide it where no one will think to look for it?)
GM: Nice cover for test them out.
Crizh: sorry lost connection
Crizh: miss anything?
Etoile: (Guess you have to hope no-one is watching on the camera's.)
GM: Nope still planning to get by the door.
Charlie: (I would picture charlie's sleep spell as a more gentle thing)
GM: As a heads up I'm going to have to get after I get you guys in the reactor room.
Crizh: are the cameras wireless?
GM: Yes the sleep spell would be more gental
Etoile: (Still going to be obvious when they slump at the desks I mean. We /really/ should have brought a hacker and a face along.)
GM: Nope there hardwired in .
Crizh: 20 20 hindsight..
Crizh: where do the wires go
Crizh: no drop ceiling
Tom Green: put them down ill go open the door
Charlie: [are we planning on just having me sleep the guys00] => are we planning on just having me sleep the guys00
Etoile: (This was foresight actually! I did offer to ditch Etoile and make someone more suitable for evening out the party composition.)
GM: in to the ceiling were the overhead conduit is.
Crizh: me like grumpy french lady
Crizh: does the conduit pass our location
Crizh: ?
Etoile: We could just... push the button and let them assume it's a broken door?
GM: Yes, it those big open types with all the pipes and wires.
Etoile: The place is old, they recently moved in. It might not be entirely unreasonable.
Tom Green: "sleep them..if someone comes by they will tink they are napping on the late shift like a lot of people do
Charlie: I can stay here and create an illusion of the guards still being in place
Crizh: I've got an optical tap
GM: That a good idea.
Crizh: Tom you could cut into the camera feeds here
GM: both of them
Tom Green: lets go with the less intrusive and sleep them
Crizh: unpack the ingram
Crizh: and load it with capsule rounds
Truth: if you're feeling brave, you can use their badges to get around once they're out
Tom Green: since we have to deal with them either way
Charlie: Brent, is the target just on the other side of the door?
Crizh: filled with DMSO and narcoject
Etoile: Two people sleeping at the same desk? Doesn't happen. One would stay awake and keep watch while his buddy took a nap.
GM: From the map the reactors are on the other side yes.
Etoile: *Gets one of her pistols out from the tool box*
Crizh: cover the guards in case charlie fails to sleep them
Etoile: (And puts the silencer on.)
Charlie: (Ok then I will drop them and through up a Trid Phantasm of them still being awake, it will fool the cameras
Tom Green: ( ive cought 4 people all sleeping on midnight shift when i was working in a factory)
Crizh: nice plan charlie
Etoile: (Were they security guards at the same desk?)
Tom Green: i agree caharlie
GM: I can tell you from experance that guards use the buddy system
Crizh: how many aim actions can one take?
Tom Green: 3 i think
GM: Yes there at the same desk.
Crizh: i'll cover the one on the left
Crizh: tom cover the one on the right?
Tom Green: back up the caster with the ingram on the guy ion the rt ill take the lft
Truth: ((half your skill with the weapon)
Charlie: Stunball F 7 [14d6] => [6,5,4,1,1,3,5,2,5,3,4,4,4,5] Hits: (5)
Tom Green: yes
Etoile: Etoile takes up position watching the way we just came from.
Charlie: Resisting 4P Drain [8d6] => [1,5,4,5,1,4,3,5] Hits: (3)
Charlie: 1 Physical Drain
Crizh: one aim action then...
GM: they only get there willpower to resist right?
GM: [3d6] => [6,5,4] Hits: (2) [3d6] => [2,4,1] Hits: (0)
Charlie: The first guy takes 10S, the second takes 12S
Crizh: anyone any good at first aid?
GM: They are out.
Etoile: Etoile has it on skillsoft at rating 4 I think. Plus logic of 3.
Crizh: Etoile should see to Charlie then...
Crizh: I've a rating 6 medkit if you don't
Charlie: Force 5 Tride Phantasm [14d6] => [1,6,5,3,5,2,6,5,5,5,2,6,6,3] Hits: (9) cast into a sustaining focus
Etoile: Medkit gives a bonus equal to rating to skill doesn't it?
Crizh: to dp
Tom Green: yes tet
Etoile: That's what I meant.
Charlie: (yes medkit gives a bonus equal to its rating to the dp)
Tom Green: yes etoile
Etoile: [13d6] => [3,5,5,5,2,4,1,1,5,3,5,5,1] Hits: (6)
Charlie: Limitied to 5 hits due to force
Crizh: -2 for mage
GM: the illusion is up an running
Etoile: (Erm knock off the last 2 numbers then?)
GM: You fixed her up
Charlie: Resisting 5S [8d6] => [1,3,4,2,6,4,2,3] Hits: (1)
Tom Green: Should we put them under the desk so only the illusion is in sight?
Charlie: 4 stun drain
Crizh: Etoile?
Charlie: (fix me up again doctor lady, I'm at 4 stun)
GM: there is not a lot you can do for stun other than take some IBU
GM: it's a head ach.
Tom Green: "have a stim patch to slap on?"
Etoile: (I was assuming the first aid was done after all the spellcasting was finished?)
Crizh: sr 4 removed that rule unless you want to house rule it
GM: No I was going to check that. I'm fine with first aiding it.
GM: keeps more people in the game.
Truth: Want to stash an optical tap at the security desk, so we can get into the system for other things that might come up?
GM: Sure,
Crizh: could do
Tom Green: (is there room under the desk for these 2?
Etoile: (Does stun need a seperate roll? Or can it all be done as one?)
Charlie: well, if Etoile waited until I was done casting I'd be free of all drain from both spells
Crizh: once per injury I think
GM: yes there is room, they have to spoon though.
Crizh: no threshold is 2
GM: yeah I fine with using the first aid after all the casting.
Crizh: she only gets three boxes
Charlie: ok, then I am done to 2S and not facing any penalties either way
Charlie: You should probably head intio the reactor room now.
Tom Green: Tom eases the guards under the desk and looks to see if everyone is ready for him to open the door
GM: Ok, you guys get area cleaned up and are in the reactor room now.
Crizh: over to tom
Tom Green: (anyone in here with us?)
GM: Ok I'm going to call it I have to head out for my sister-in-law's d-day
Tom Green: ok good spot we are past several obsticals
Crizh: have fun...
Crizh: next week?
Tom Green: thanks brent
Truth: have a good one
GM: I will, here comes the beer.
GM: Yes next sunday
Charlie: (Charlie starts spending complex actions to clean up her signature, with her astral Chameleon it takes half the time, so she'd have it done in less than 30 seconds total for both spells)
Crizh: mmm beer...
DWC: Beer makes everythning better
Charlie: have fun Brent
Crizh: I should be available at same time.
Tom Green: so does opium but ill avoid that
Crizh: now, beer...
Tom Green: see y ou then
Etoile: I may or may not be free next weekend. Got three birthday parties to attend, one of which is my own.
Crizh: congrats
Etoile: I'll have to see if/when I sober up by. :/
GM: we will get things worked out.
GM: on Dumpshock
Charlie: congrats
Charlie: and just think of all the Karma for this run (4+ sessions)
GM: I'll get the log posted later.
Charlie: see you guys next week
Etoile: Cheers. Anyway I'll see you all laters. Have a good week.
Crizh: see ya
GM: ok see yea later

We on for this Sunday?
Shalimar
It seemed like everyone was go for this Sunday, and we'd be likely to finish the run too if all we have to do is get you to install the hardware, and then come back out and slot the agent key card in the dam computer.

Oenone
I may or may not be back home by game time this weekend. Got a lot of things on this weekend what with assorted birthdays and friends meeting up. Hopefully I aim to be around in time for the game, might be a little exhausted but should be able to manage if I overdo the coffee.
bmcoomes
I think we will be a go for this weekend. I'd like to get this finished up too, this should be interesting to say the lest. Sorry that it has workout that it's taken so many sessions to finish the run.

Brent
Shalimar
Not a big deal, just a function of getting enough people together at the same times.
crizh
I'm good for this Sunday.

If we need to play earlier or later I should be able to work around it no problem.
crizh
I'm off to walk the dog. Back by 1600 Zulu.
Shalimar
I am having trouble with open rpg, itisn't running, trying a reinstall. NPC me if neccessary to get things moving.
DWC
Truth's advancement plans:
8 karma to raise Perception to 4.
4 karma to raise Pilot Ground Vehicle to 2
3 karma to raise Area Knowledge(Seattle) to 3

What sort of training time and down time would we be looking at?
bmcoomes
The advancments look good.

I don't think will be having the game this sunday, I'm still working on the next run.

thanks,
Brent
Shalimar
I'm going to be Initiating again, this time with the Masterpiece Ordeal. 10 Karma and 2 weeks, Charlie is picking up extended masking as her new metamagic.
Oenone
Before I try plan anything out, just how many days/weeks/months of downtime do we have to play with? As I need to work out how much it costs to keep her pirated skillsofts updated. (I assume Gecko is handing out any updates for the stuff he provided? After all he'll be updating it anyway and it seems silly to have everyone pay out for such things.)

Etoile will be spending the majority of her time helping out at the shady fighting arena again. (This time she'll have a rank in instruction too. As that's one of her few must buy Karma spends.) Hopefully to earn a few more Karma points to spend on stuff which might make her able to do something during a run other than pout and occasionally do some heavy lifting.

And is there any word on the whole edge thing? As it seems like the most effective way to advance is basically just to turn everything into karma and watch our edges skyrocket. As you initially said we get 1 edge per 10 Karma, meaning any baseline humans are already up to 4 edge....

@Shalimar - Doesn't second initiation cost 16 Karma base? I can see an ordeal and being in a magical group reducing it a bit, but can it really drop it by 6?

You looking at about two months of downtime as a rough figure. Yeah you can get updates from what Gecko shared with you. Or we can play a little side deal and workout a Matrix Contact for that stuff. Always an option. With the karma and edge thing it's not every 10 karma, it goes 10, 30, 70, 150, 270, and 590. So a human may be close to having three edge.

Brent

Updated Truth to reflect the two months of lifestyle and software update costs. Still putting together his shopping list.

40% off for both ordeal and Group so it costs 60% of 10 + (3 x Grade)

The costs go 8( 7.8 ) - 10(9.6) - 12(11.4) - 14(13.2) - 15(15)

Brent a human starts with 2 edge, when they hit 30 karma (2 edge bumps at 10 and 30) = 4 edge, no more edge till they 60 karma, so non-humans will hit 30 before a human hits 60, so its not like everyone wont be within 1 edge of everyone else. Non-humans will max their edge before humans do at 150 karma whereas humans wont until 210 karma. Once everyone is in the 3 to 4 range I don't see it as that big a deal since that is where things will stay for at least 2 - 3 adventures.

Charlie spends the first 2 weeks of the 2 months doing her initiation Ordeal. The next 6 weeks she'll work 4 days a week. That nets her the cash to pay for her lifestyle, and also gets her 3 karma (210 *100/5000 = 3 + 6,000 nuyen(rent)). I'll spend the 3 karma + 2 left over karma on learning a new spell (Mana Static) in case mister big bad spirit wants a round 2, assuming he actually survived the first go. It takes 1 day to learn.
crizh
Can I suggest Manascape rather than Mana Static?

It's a new spell in the Digital Grimoire. Basically Tri-D Phantasm but for Astral Space.
DWC
Truth's shopping list:
Commlink Response Enhancer-2 Avail 8, Cost nuyen.gif 4000
Simsense Accelerator Avail 14, Cost nuyen.gif 15000

That's it for the moment. The installation of these two items into the commlink mounted in his cyberarm should be trivial for Truth.

Would it allow us to be invisible to the astral plane?

I'll consider it for my next spell, but I need some self-defense if that force 8 blood spirit comes sniffing around. The ability to send it away for a month by casting a single spell is too much to pass up. Cast at Force 8 the spirit will be reduced to 0 force, meaning I'd only need to survive its first barrage and it wont be able to survive mine.
crizh
Yes, or at least concealed as something innocuous.

Mana Static doesn't work like that. It's hits that determine the BC it creates. There is a strong case to be made that it's limited to a BC of six.
Shalimar
Why would it be limited to 6? Nothing in the spell's description limits it to a Domain rather than a Warp. Its great for dealing with spirits if I release it before it becomes permanent.

crizh
I certainly wouldn't allow it to create a Warp. That sort of thing ought to be beyond the ability of Sorcery, the additional effects of a Warp are too significant.

Regardless, getting more than 6 hits is far from easy and the drain code is painfully harsh.
Shalimar
Your right, completely right, I should just let the nice force 8 blood spirit eat my magic/essence/ etc without putting up any sort of meaningful fight.
crizh
LOL.

It's entirely up to you, I shall shut my big trap.

Except to say that getting Manascape past a Force 8 would require at least an 18 Dice spellcasting pool. Although I still thinking having the option of sneaking past it is better than being forced to fight it...

I'm not so much worried about sneaking by anything so much as worrying about the one Charlie has already managed to piss off with a Force 10 acid bath. From Brent's comment's its alive and going to be coming back. Charlie isn't exactly always primed for a fight, and most of the time she isn't looking in the astral so it'd be easy for it to sneak up and get the first hit on her. If she survives, her response has got to be something major otherwise she probably wont survive a second hit given her fragility (body 3).
Oenone
Given who the spirit works for I'm not entirely sure it'd come for payback alone. Not perhaps the most optimistic way of thinking I admit, we should assume however that the spirit in question is very much up and about by now. So maybe hitting the Azzies should be on the 'jobs we try not to take' list for a bit.

Two months? Right I'll do some math in a bit and work out the specifics of what Etoile is upto then. I'll send them via forum message to save on the spam.
bmcoomes
As much as I like manascape I like mana static too. As far as making mana warps or voids and in my opinion it would be easier for mana warps than a void. I don't have to much of an issue of going beyond rating 6 there are ways to clean the area if it's not in the book yet I'll homerule it. Or you can simply counterspell it so you don't get there things like that. Plus Oenone is right it would not just be the blood spirit by it self. But for ease of mind turn about is fair play.
Shalimar
I'm looking at Mana Static defensively. Besides, if someone threw up a mana static strong enough to take out one of my elementals it would stop casting period since I tend to only summon Force 10s. I might want to consider swapping my specialization to Plants though. Magic Guard 10 would be darn useful and the same elemental could do that and Concealment 10.
bmcoomes
Right I understand that and I would smack your pee pee if you were trying to use it other wise because your tradition.
bmcoomes
OK, so after doing some research, I see that there is no spell for "cleaning" astral space from a background count. The only manipulation I can find of background is mana static. Which I find weird because most rituals begin and end with a "cleaning" of energies. So I don't see why there as not been a spell to manipulate background count like this. So in that light here is a spell I put together for this. Of course there are limits the effect like space and things like that were you simply can affect a change do to obvious reasons.

Sanctification (Environmental, Area)
Type: M, Range: LOS (A), Duration: P, DV: (F/2) + 4

This area-effect spell recan’s an areas background count of 1 for every hit scored by the caster. Or it cleans an areas background count to 0. Once the spell is made permanent, the modified background count from this spell recedes at a rate of 1 point per hour until the area is back to its natural state.

**Edit: I found the metamagic of Cleansing so I'm going to take the above into consideration and possibility change some things with it.
Oenone
And Etoiles downtime is submitted.

I'm right in thinking we're not running tomorrow to give time for the next run to actually be written up?

I think I remember words to that effect last week, but my memory is kind of scrambled atm due to massive changes in my sleep cycle.
bmcoomes
right there is no game tomorrow, But I'll be working your guys downtime and things like that.

Brent
bmcoomes
after look more at Cleansing I'm going to leave Sanctification as is.

Sanctification (Environmental, Area)

Shalimar
I think the spell is somewhat superior to the filtering metamagic so I'm not sure how balanced it is vs a metamagic which costs 3x as much (15 Karma vs 5 karma)
bmcoomes
well that way I put things out before calling it, because I missed the "Filtering" metamagic.
Oenone
Note to self. Never ever buy any more social skills for Etoile again. Ever.

*Kicks Uncouth a few times*
bmcoomes
OK, after some more research and brainstorming I think I found something that will fill the niche I was look for. While it really not that powerful with just the two mages combating each other the one who placed Mana Static and then the one placing Sanctification. It was built for more team play than not. Let me know what you guys think.

Sanctification (Environmental, Area)
Type: M, Range: LOS (A), Duration: S, DV: (F/2) + 4

This area-effect spell recan's an areas background count of 1 for every hit scored by the caster. Sanctification was designed to combat the effect of Mana Static. Were Mana Static floods an area with mana Sanctification soothes or places order on the area's mana. Only draw back to Sanctification is that the caster must Sustain this order but unlike normal sustain spells which only incur -2 for each sustained spell. The caster incurs half the background count (round normal) modified by the casters test as a dice penalty on all other tests.
