Oops. Sorry folks I thought this was about the video game. I haven't heard much about the RPG. There's someone on the DS that has/does play. That person confirmed some my fears by explaining his (her?) was Vamp w/ a soul that did.... something or other.
The point is, I fear that character options are limited:
1) We'll assume you can't be The Slayer, so that's out
2) How many Vamps are there running around w/ souls? My guess would be
lots in this game. Kinda sucks the fun out of being "unique", neh?
3) Witch? meh, been there, ran that.
4) Unagumented human? I like Xander on the show but he sure does get his ass kicked a helluva lot...and see below
5) A Watcher? role(or roll-) playing research doesn't sound like that much fun.
6) I suppose you play a "good" demon. There seem to be a fair amount of those.
7) All these assumptions are based on the idea that you're a "good guy"
But again, I'm uniformed and like the show too much to try the game and get all pissy about it. For Vamp/monster/horror (note: no capitalization
) RPGs, White Wolf seems to have done a good job.
If anyone has played and could confirm/refute my assumtions, I'd appreciated it.
Oh, @mfb: It does seem that way, doesn't it?
