No, that's the right one - check the core rulebook. The note in Starships of the Galaxy about it is just to clarify that you can use it for a ship that you're piloting. You can still use it on yourself as normal.

Mitch won't be able to make the game, and I'm kinda hovering at 50/50. We have some (gamer) company coming into town. I still want to try and make it, but since they're staying at my place I want to try and minimize the chaos.

I say just bring them along. We can set up a gaming consoul on the TV ( I can bring my Wii, or Andrew can, and good group of games.

In other news, I'm not going to be able to make it this week. An emergency came up and I have to go all the way to fragging Oroville on Wednesday. So, no meeting at the office this Friday, sorry guys. I'll try to post an update of my character sheet before I go, in case Tom lets somebody run my character this time.

It'd be better than leaving the team one guy short and having to re-figure the encounters, and I really hate to miss out on any of that uber-valuable XP.

I won't be at the game on Friday too. But I got legitimate excuse: I'll be on the train (with no internet) from 3 to about 9, then having dinner with my family for about an hour after that. As I don't have a internet connection that I can use while moving, I won't be on until 10, at least. Anyway, I have a question: if I got a weapon with improve energy cell and extra power source, do I triple the ammo capacity or quadruple it? Also, if I strip a heavy weapon to make it exotic, does my weapon focus on it still work?

Dude, they barely have a town up there--and the only person in the house who's going to have a driver's license is an 85-year old woman with the flu.

Also, what town there is is currently in the middle of a heat wave. I seem to recall the phrase "we're dying" being used when they asked me to come up. Did I mention this was an emergency?

Anyway, I'll see what I can do, but it's not likely that I'll be able to get online Friday. Sorry, but family crises take precedent. Also, I kinda' owe Rev 'cause she took care of me when I was lying in a tent with mono during a record heatwave back in the summer of '01. Quid pro quo and all that.

PS: Weapon Focus requires you to be proficient with the weapon, so if you're not proficient with the exotic version, then no, it doesn't work.

Now if you'll excuse me, my train leaves at 8am and I have to catch two local buses to get there. God damn this is going to suck.

Sooo, I'm down 3 players out of 8, so nearly half the group is missing. Looks like the game is canceled.

Ironicly, I'll be out of town the next friday, so I'll be GMing remotely. I "get" to go up to San Fransico and picket PG&E's main office.

Okay, so what if I got the weapon prof. for it? Does it still count as a heavy weapon for the purpose of weapon focus? Common sense says that moving some parts around shouldn't really change how a weapon works. Incidentally, all of this is me trying to mod a heavy repeating blaster so that the ammo capacity would be more than 20, thus allowing me to mow down mooks with ease, and blasting villains with the burst fire feat.

I would imagine that changing a weapon from being a heavy weapon into an exotic weapon makes it stop being a heavy weapon. If you want to have weapon focus in it, just take Weapon Focus (Dan's Personal Minion Slayer). At least, that was how I read the stripping rules, and was why I didn't do that to my weapon.

so, according to this we can buy just about any star ship that could physically be made at this point in time, just thought you guys might want to know. Also starships of the galaxy says that removing the ships cost modifier for size in tons from the amount of tons of cargo it can carry will get you an emplacement point, if we remove 70 tons from the ships cargo capacity to have 5 tons left and 14 more emplacement points if we want them, or we could buy a yt-2500 at colossal frig size it has 60k tons of cargo, which is lots of emp points.

P.S. the new jedi book is epoch win

Huh? Starships of the Galaxy says the Gozanti Cruiser was produced during the Old Republic. In fact, our short list of ships to choose from was completely based on ones that existed during the time period we're playing in.

during the old republic, but according to wookiepedia it is made in the rise of the empire era (1000 bby to 0 aby) it was made when it wasn't quite an empire yet and was still called the old republic, but was close to being the empire.

We are canceling the game this week. I think that i might be playing a new character due to new rules for shards from jedi academy training manual which kill my concept.

I'm curious now. What's the difference?

Also, Tom, considering we'll actually have a normal sized party, perhaps instead of canceling the game entirely, we could have a more social encounter (*cough*diplomatic*cough*) since that seems to bore the hell out of the more combat oriented members of the party. You know, with trying to unite the galaxy once more.

Well, most improtantly i can't change droid body, second off almost all of the droid options are off limits, not allowed to take shields or locomotion or a bunch of other things. I mainly chose it for cool droidy things the majority of which i can't use now, it still is a functional race, but not for what i wanted to do with it.

Restating my other half of my question that I forgot: If I get a improved power cell mod with a extra power source mod, does that quadruple my ammo capacity, since improved power cell doubles the power pack/energy cell capacity, or something like that?

Guys, we have a slight problem. You hauling 310 Tons of Rhodium. Your ship holds 75 tons.

Solution! Bolt on Cargo Modules. Free up 10 Slots by temporarily demounting the 10 slots worth of guns, and loading up on heavy external cargo moduals. You'r Ship is going to maneuver like a beached whale in the meantime, with 4 dex, but you can haul the stuff. It's going to cost about 37500 credits, but pulling 4 four forge bars off the pile covers that, plus workers to help with this stuff.

how much money do we have in the ship pool, because a gallofree gr-75 is a pretty cheap ship that is extremely mod able (19k tons of cargo space, 1 emp point per 10 tons removed) for 300k new 100k used. Oh, and it's frigate sized, but only needs 6 crew.

Analogously, improved power cell is like switching the ammo clip from a tommy gun to drum, and extra power cell is like attaching another drum to it.

As for the cargo, we can just hire another ship to transport it. Less profits, but we'll be less of a sitting duck than we could be.

50 tons to one slot. It's size is Collosal (frigate). Check the Scum and Villany Errata

with this new character that i am switching i want to buy a starfighter and i found the perfect one, except it's gargantuan and i want it huge. Would it be possible to have one made smaller? I am already going to buy a custom one with the mods i am buying for it so it seems a bit more reasonable.

Honestly, I don't see why it's not huge in the first place. For those stats, you can get a light fighter that's slightly better. I'll let you get a huge version for * New: 20,000 credits * Used: 9,000 credits

Either way, could you post it online? You got the only copy of my character, and I need to see it so I can plan my character accordingly. I decided to screw the mechanic side of my character and just being a heavy all the way. Btw, there's a feat that allows me to create a organization, but I don't have the req for it. Do you mind giving it to me at a later date (like when I have enough credit to fund and sustain it)?

So what, did the protest fizzle? And what were you picketing PG&E for anyway?

(Meaning what out of the litany of reasons one might have to hate those bastards, not to imply there are no reasons.)

Anyway, I'm back in town, logging on from the UU building at poly right now. So I'll be at the game tomorrow, and we can have it at the office if Tom manages to show up. So, apparently I missed a day and not only didn't miss anything awesome, but in fact missed nothing at all?

Better solution: Purchase temporary storage planetside, or work out some kind of "hold it 'till we haul it" deal with our suppliers. Better yet, weren't we liquidating assets to purchase this stuff? Do that in installments. Moving several small shipments will be easier and attract less attention that strapping cargo containers where our guns are supposed to be. Might as well paint "Rob Me!" in Basic and Mando'a across the hull while we're at it. :-/

Not enough.

I like the idea of renting a cargo hauling and us escorting it. We put a couple jedi on each and make sure we GTFO of any pirate space. But there is a HUGE difference in cargo to get back to republic space. Thats a long, dangerous trip.
