The Seattle streets were ripe for the pickin, as they would say. There was alot of business in this town. Anyone who couldn't find work, wasnt looking hard enough.
The Vincetti family was striving well these days. In certain parts of Seattle, The Don was actually loved, and considered a respected member of the Community. But all the family's were divided. There were five. The Strautzies, The Calleta's, the Valencia's, the Janetti's, and of course, The Vincetti's. And each one of them wanted the rule Seattle. No one was willing to make friends, so everyone was always on the fritz. In a strange way, it developed a sense of safety. If no one was willing to make alliances, no one had anything else on the other.
But the times change. Someone was going try to kill Don Vincetti.
SinN
The limo strolled down the street.
Not alot of talk amongst these types. The driver thought to himself.
Ofcourse, when they were called in like this, no one has alot to say. Middle of the night phone calls from a Sotocapo. Aparantly this was important.
Soon the limo came to a slow, then finally to a stop. "The Velvet Pier", the sign read. One of those fancy places. Just the kind of place where someone is made. Lets hope for the best. Everyone thought.
As the team walks inside, the warm reds of the velvet walls fills the room. Velvet peir, no kidding.
A scandely clad waitress takes you to your table where there are three men. Two human males sitting. And a large orc man standing near the boothe, giving stares to anyone who's getting to close to the conversation. The man can make the great Urban Brawl player, Titan think twice before he makes a passerby.
The two men in the boothe is Sotocapo Aldo Corrleone, and his son, Micheal. Micheal is a recent Made Man. Aldo is all about the classic way of doing things. He's the kind of guy who you always here talking about the good ol' days. He's short, a tad pudgy, and normally wears a cap. He's been nicknamed "The Calzone" from the family. But only certain types get away with calling him that.
Micheal has a reputation for being a bit more of a hot-head. His form of diplomacy involves shoving a shotgun down your mouth till your either you crack under pressure, or your teeth do. Despite his temper, he's good to the family. Unlike his father, he's tall and lean. Keeps in good shape. Slicked back hair, And damn good looking.
Aldo nods with a half smile as the team takes their seats.
I apologise on behalf of my coherts for the rudeness of our invitations for this meeting today. But as you may have already figured, there are some important things to discuss here, and urgent arrangements needed to be made. I am Aldo Corrleone, and this is my son Micheal. Micheal gives a nod as he shakes everyones hands. The man outside the boothe keepin an eye on things is my right hand muscle, Rocko. Good man to have watchin your back. Now, can we get down to bussiness?
Squirrlyl
Shred, with a courteous smile and a slight nod. Of course, go on.

Nisio steps out of the limo, unconciously moving into a blocking position for Lucky as she steps out. He keeps his poker face on, not letting his annoyance at being "summoned" show. He walks into the restaurant, eyes searching while he smokes a cigar, the stogie being a good excuse for keeping his hand high and near his sidearm holstered in the underarm holster.

He doesn't say much as he leads the way, walking up to the booth and shaking hands with the sottocapo with a firm grip, and a second for is son.

Nisio Luchessi. I believe you know Lucky Santangelo as well. If you don't mind Mr. Corrleone, I'd like to take a few minutes to get comfortable, perhaps have a few drinks and a bite. We wouldn't want to give the impression that we're cut throat mercenaries here.

Nisio hides his aggrievement with the sottocapo's rudeness as best he can. It must be something serious to be treating them so brusquely.

The man's treating us like common shadowrunners. Hopefully a soft reminder will calm him, give him a second to catch himself.

Lady Door
Lucky follows Nisio into the club, letting him take the lead in their familiar routine. While he talks she scans the room and their "hosts" astrally, gauging intent, mood and capabilities. Assensing Test
[ Spoiler ]

She smiles as Nisio introduces her, bowing her head slightly.

"Mr. Corrleone." Turning she nods to Micheal as well. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

She slides into the booth behind Nisio, one hand on his thigh under the table, squeezing gently. Her meaning is clear.

Watch your temper, love. We don't know how to play this yet.
Mickle5125
Vincent slips out of the Limo next, calmly scanning the surroundings as he allows the others to go in first. I hate face to face meetings in places like this. It's always some wanna-be don trying to flex his muscles...

As the group enters, he look around the Velvet Pier and allows a small smile to cross his face. The decor's not terrible, but the food would have to be outstanding to warrant a return when he's off duty. He nods to Rocko as he passes, then focuses on the Sotocapo. He listens patiently through the man's spiel, and is about to speak up when Luchessi makes his speech. Vincent very carefully keeps from laughing and stays quiet, interested in listening to the exchange.
SinN
Aldo nods at Nisio. Of course, Of course. Lets all get something. This is just a bussiness meeting. We should get comfortable first.

Micheal smiles and winks at Lucky. The pleasure mine, doll.
Lucky
[ Spoiler ]
fistandantilus4.0
Nisio does a good jobat not glaring Michael down, just yet. The boy might now know their relationship yet. It wouldn't be polite to hold his ignorance against him.
Lady Door
Lucky's smile at Michael cools slightly at the word "doll". Arrogant little son of a ... Her eyes shift over to Aldo, gauging his reaction to the subtle insult.
Squirrlyl
Shred sits calmly, observing the inhabitants of the booth.
Mickle5125
Vincent sits back, a polite smile on his face as he watches and wonders if he'll have a side contract by then end of the evening.
SinN
After the group has haf its fill of food and drink, Aldo clears his throat.

Now, down to bussiness. Once again, I thank you for being here. You are all highly spoken of. I hear good things about your loyalty and devotion to the family. That is why I needed to bring you in. That and... He trails off for a moment. He looks to each of the group. We need, for lack of better word, outsiders. People in the family, but not too close to the Don. I don't think I need to tell anyone here this, but just so Im clear, What Im about to tell you cannot, He looks sternly and much more serious then before, and WILL not leave this table.
You are all very skilled, and good at what you do for us. So, with all that being said I feel an explanation for what you were brought here for is in order.

We've got a rat. Some one in this family, is trying to kill the Don.
Mickle5125
Vincent leans forward, his face all business now. And you brought us in to serve as exterminators? Seek out and destroy the pest problem? What can you tell us about this infestation?
SinN
He lights a ciggarette and takes a long drag.
Yes, you will be the..exterminators, as you put it. But not yet The situation's under control, for now. But it's made Don Vincetti at tad on the cautious side. So what we're gonna do is start you small, you know, earn his trust, and develop yourselves a reputation. Understand?
fistandantilus4.0
Stone's expression is carefully neutral, trying not to express is displeasure at being called an "outsider". He's a made man, and so is Lucky. All e can reason is that he must mean they're not high in the Families' organization.

Do you have any idea who the leak is?
SinN
We have a few leads. But you understand that Ive been instructed not to show my cards until you can be fully trusted with that information. We're hoping to sniff him or her out, and take care of them quietly, and discreetly.
Mickle5125
It sounds as though we don't have massive amounts of time to earn that trust. What would it take to earn that trust quickly?

Vincent's polite smile is back, but seems colder than it was before. He does not take kindly to having it implied that he's not trustworthy, and, despite his efforts, it shows.
SinN
Aldo flicks his ciggarette.
Im glad you asked. There are a few things that need to be done. Dont get discouraged, they may be small jobs, but that dont make em unimportant. First things first, The Strautzies have made themselves comfortable on our turf. They've taken over the protection on a few of our establishments in Belleveiw. Two resturaunts and a bar. Someone needs to remind those bussiness why they need our protection. And show the Strautzies need a lesson in ettiquite. They should be hangin around. Do with what you will with em. Just make sure we get the paycut. Can you do this work for us?
fistandantilus4.0
Stone can see the expressions on the faces of those around him, seeing that the sottocapo's choice of words is grating all around the table.
"Can be fully trusted". Implying that he can't be. The man's position would only protect him so long if he insulted everyone this way.

I can understand Mr. Vincentti being overly cautious given the changing sitaution Mr. Corrleone. Given the situation, his caution is commendable. However, you cannot extend your hand in comradery while slapping ours at the same time. It's not the way to build trust.

For myself, I'll do what needs to be done. I'm not a "discouraged" man. I'm a "results" man. What's the names of the three establishments?
SinN
Aldo grins at the expression as Micheal begins to scowl at Nisio.

Aldo begins with a chuckle.
You've got a strong back bone. I can admire that about you Mr. Luchessi. The Resturaunts are called, "Red Revolver," and "Desi're." The club is "The Black Dahlia." They both make quite a bit of money. Very successful bussiness's. For this reason, we think that our rat may be in league with the Strauzies. They could be just tryin to take some money from our pockets, or they could be sending a message. While you're dealing with them, try to get some information before you break they're jaws.
fistandantilus4.0
What kind of cut are we supposed to be collecting from these places? Specifics would be helpful in assuring their compliance.

He ignores Michael entirely, focusing instead on the business at hand.
SinN
Now Micheal speaks up.
The origional cut was eighteen percent. But since they decided to swing the other way to the Strautzies cock, it just jumped to twenty-five. I think they'll get the idea that a turn is neccessary after their new friends are takin care of. Ive heard how you work, I have the fullest trust in each of you.
Squirrlyl
Shred is listening intently as he lights up a cigarette, transfixed by the poise and pace of the conversation at hand. Seeing as how this is his first big job for the family, he's content with keeping his mouth from making a fool of him. He's kept quiet so far and he plans on keeping it that way until someone speaks directly to him.
SinN
Aldo looks at his son like he's eight and he just caught him in the cookie jar.

What's the matter with you? Aldo says quietly. Why you gotta talk that way, when a lady's present? He gestures towards Lucky. Micheal, Why don't you go get me a calzone, eh?

Micheal begins to protest but is silenced by his father.
You can't have a little respect, all you're gonna be good for is gettin calzones. Now get a move on it.
Micheal looks as if he's about to explode. He throws his ciggarette down on the table and walks away muttering somthing in Italian.
Aldo puts out his cigarette and looks towards Lucky.
I apologise for my son, Miss Santangelo. What he has in skill, he lacks in manners. He shows a big toothy smile.
Lady Door
Lucky finally breaks her silence at Aldo's apology. "I require no apology from you on behalf of your son's behavior, Mr. Corrleone." Her voice gets glacial. "I do, however, take offense to your implications as to my loyalty and trustworthiness ... or presumed lack thereof. I understand that you must be in a difficult situation if you are seeking an informant within our own ranks but I see no reason to pull us together and then to insult us while you offer us a job for "outsiders"." Her voice warms as she leans forward, placing a hand over his and exposing a generous amount of cleavage. "Is there something else going on, Mr. Corrleone? Something we should know about?"

He gives a half grin, and leans in.
Well darlin, I am sorry about all that. Personally Ive got faith in you guys. But the Don? Eeehh. He's just not sure who he can trust. Even Im on the fritz with him! He laughs out loud. But listen, the reason he's bringin you in is becuase he wants to trust you. You guys got what it takes to make it in this family. Frankly, Im embarrassed to talk to you this way. All you gotta do is do a few easy jobs and you're in. And after that, You get this rat figured out, and I can garuntee you'll be livin better lives. He leans in a little closer.
Micheal's been actin a little funny as of late too. Keep an eye out.
He sits back.
Rude as he may be, my son was right. The price is twenty-five. We can't let this turn sly.
fistandantilus4.0
A young man can be excused for foolishness, but only so many times. But it's not my place to give you advise on your son Mr. Corrleone. I only offer you good luck.

As to the cut, is that 25 off the top, or out of profits only?

He keeps his hands up and on the table, in plain sight incase Mr. Corrleone gets a little too tense.
SinN
Aldo clears his throat.
Profits of course. They need to be taught, but they need to stay in bussiness as well. He chuckles.
Are there any more questions?
fistandantilus4.0
Nisio glances around the table to see if anyone else has any.
Mickle5125
I believe I know everything I need to for the time being. Vincent sits back, that small smile still glued to his face as he begins to think about how best to achieve the goals.
SinN
Good, I think now is a good time to get to work. Once you're finished, call this number, we'll tell you what to do after that.
He slides a slip of paper with a number across the table.
Do good. Make the family proud.
Mickle5125
Vincent takes the paper and glances at it for a moment, taking a quick picture before passing it on to Stone. We'll be in touch, Mr. Corrleone. He rises and bows slightly to Lucky. After you, Ma'am.
Lady Door
Lucky nods to Vincent and slides out of the booth. Standing she bows her head to Aldo. "Mr. Corleone." She steps past him and right in line with Michael. She gives him a look that could cut glass and then keeps moving. She doesn't stop till she's outside and pulling the cigarette from its case. She lights up.
Mickle5125
Vincent steps up next to Michael and says in Italian as he pulls out a cigarette. A wise man gave me this advice, and now I pass it on to you: Manners cost little, but reap rewards far beyond their scope. Have a good evening, Mr. Corrleone.
SinN
Aldo Corrleone gives an aproving nod.
Good luck Miss Santengelo, and to the rest of you.

Micheal gives a smile to lucky as he says, Good luck and doesnt even give Vincent a second glance as he very bluntly states to him in Italion, Blow me.
Mickle5125
Be careful of what you ask for, Mr. Corrleone, Vincent says as he fishes a lighter out of his pocket. You'll find that things don't always turn out the way you want. Having said his piece, Vincent walks out the door as he lights his cigarette.
fistandantilus4.0
The meeting wrapping up, NIsio stands , stepping out of the booth and shaking Corrleone seniors hand. We'll be in touch Mr Corrleone. Thank you for the meal. I'll get the next one. Stone palms the phone number off of the table, walking out and giving a polite nod to Rokke, the muscle. He walks past Michael without a word, sliding his hand to the small of Lucky's back and walking her out.

Once out side of the restaurant with everyone else, Stone pulls out another cigar, and offering one to both Vincent and Shred casually. He lights his own with a few puffs, sharing with Lucky, while they wait for the limo. Stone turns first to Vincent, extending his hand.

Nisio Luchessi. And this is Lucky Santangelo. He gestures to Lucky, introducing her to first Vincent, then Shred.

He doesn't say much besides pleasantries until they're all inside the limo.
Mickle5125
Vincent declines the cigar politely and shakes Nisio's hand. Vincent Mancini. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. He turns to Lucky and lightly kisses her hand. Enchante, Miss Santangelo.
SinN
The Limo pulls up and the driver steps out to get the door for his passangers.
The Drivers description:
[ Spoiler ]

He speaks with a thick, booming voice
Sirs and Ma'am, I am instructed to take you where ever you wish to go.
fistandantilus4.0
Nisio nods to the troll as he holds the door for Lucky, then slides in after her. He waits for the other two to climg in first before taking out and switching on a white noise generator.

I'd suggest a short drive to friendly territory, say the Gates Casino. A short chat over drinks, then we can go our seperate ways and meet up later. I'd rather not discuss much here. Trust and respect are given in kind, after all, and we haven't seen much of either tonight.

Nisio sends his comm number to the other two men in the back of the limo.
Squirrlyl
Shred takes up his place in the party and exits the building accordingly, once outside he accepts the cigar gratefully, Preciate it.

Nods to the driver as he climbs into the limo finding a spot.

After listening to Nisio he nods and agrees. Sounds reasonable. and likewise sends his comm number to the rest of the group.

Mickle5125
Vincent leans forward and taps on the glass separating them from Franklin. Gates Casino, please, Franklin. Thank you.

He leans back and idly fires his comm code off to the others. He smiles. So, does anyone know anything about any of the locations we heard about today?
fistandantilus4.0
Nisio shrugs as he puffs on a cigar. Not a lot. But that'll change within a few hours once we all do a bit of digging. I'm less concerned about the establishments themselves, and more interested in the other syndicates that may or may not be there watching over them. We're going to be sending some people into the ER soon enough, so we'll have to be able to work fast and get out before any of the Star shows up, or keep it relatively quiet.

Stone relays what he knows about the operations of the various establishments to the 'crew' on the way to the casion.

(see above spoiler)
Mickle5125
So pretty high-class places? Figures... Vincent sighs and shrugs. Just once, I'd like it to be a simple thing... walk in, bash some Strautzie heads, ask for the money, and walk out. So that Mckenna guy's supposed to be a vampire? Could make for an interesting job...
fistandantilus4.0
I'd suggest seeing to him either last, or first. Last would give us the advantage of setting a few examples for him, but that assumes that the other two go off well. First means that he won't be waiting for us, and can set a precedent for the other two.

Either way, I'd suggest against killing any Strautzies unless absolutely necessary. We want to make a point, not fire the first shots in a war. We'll slap 'em around, make an example of a few of them. Let them be the ones that over react first, so that was can be seen to be putting them back in their place.
Squirrlyl
Shred is listening, with a slight grin as he puffs on his cigar. Looks like lady luck smiled on me when she put me with this group. For a first big-time job, this one should be entertaining.

He's young so he's probably stepping into the deep-end when he doesn't even know how to tread water yet, but that hasn't ever stopped him before.

I like the way you cats think, anything you need me to do you's just say the word. I'm pretty good at what I do. he sits back letting his grin grow, but only a little, as he continues to puff his cigar.
Mickle5125
Vincent raises an eyebrow. And what exactly is it that you do?
Squirrlyl
There ya go moron run your mouth some more. He thinks to himself.
Well he said it and there wasn't any going back, and surely no point in trying to make himself sound like a hard ass.
A little sheepishly he replies. Well, its nothin' really big, just tyin' up loose ends and takin' out trash on occasion. You know, just doin' as I'm told. he says with a shrug as he takes another long pull from his cigar, trying his damnedest to hide his newfound nervousness in this group of people, who could, without a doubt break him without breaking a sweat.
