Haha! I was thinking the exact same thing when searching and linking! I figure I am already on the NDAA watch list with all my anti liberal and Obama posts on facebook. I need to get an IP mask or scrambler. Not because I do anything wrong, but I don't think it's anyone's business, especially the government's, right to track my online usage, ie porn download history.

October 10th and 11th 2062 are half moons (so we'll have some light to work with) and there aren't any Islamic holidays on those two days.
@Bastard
Ludi plans on going online to get her hands on knowsofts concerning Teheran (history and geography) and Islam. She'll also track down linguasofts for Azerbaijani, Turkmen and Uzbek. If it's possible, I'll get you whatever rolls you need.

The only real "question" I have left concerns our sort of plan of approach. Are we just going full camo with guns out, or are we dressing as civilians?

Here are the questions so far.
- Team is still in discussion with PCs. When you resolve in OoC, someone will need to make an IC post, NPCing the other characters if need be.
- OoC need rolls or further information to move onto IC.
- IC move to the IC when ready
My answers in
0 This format need further rolls, information, etc to be resolved
0 This format answered, and ready for you to make an IC post
0 This format answered (or will be) and I will post to IC in future

TEAM Questions
(Mr. Juan) Approach. Are we just going full camo with guns out, or are we dressing as civilians?
0 (Kliko) has the ideal cover in his mind.... Desert Wars prospectors! Checking out the battlefield ahead of time!
OoC Questions
(Mr. Juan) What would you need me to roll for Ludi to get her hands on R3 Linguasofts and Datasofts?
0 How are you acquiring them? Matrix download - legal or illegal? Through a contact - fixer, decker or other? Make appropriate roll based on that.
(Sneaky) The name of the individual that sold Miss Johnson the information?
X Roll Etiquette or bring to IC - It is unlikely she will provide this
(Sneaky) Is the soccer(football) stadium still in use?
X No, the University as of this point is only used by squatters, though the rebuilding corporate factions have shown interest in rebuilding the site (see IC)
(Kliko) This was the only place Desert Wars didn't go to right?
X (Rolled for all) Desert Wars were everywhere. They used abandoned cities as well as the open land. Some cities brought Desert Wars in, into their ghettos, slums and old industrial/warehouse districts as a way of bringing in businesses and money.
(Kliko) Also what type of squatters are living in the mosque? It would be a bummer if it turns out to be packed with ghouls and/or devil rats.
X (Rolled for all) Squatters are poor scavengers, left behind after the city crumpled, either always that way, or became that way after the fall of the city.
X (Rolled for all - Felix success) It is possible that the city has many spirits, including ghosts, as many flock to abandoned areas, and spiritual sites. Same for Devil Rats. It is likely they will be around, as rats are prominent in places like this, and Devil Rats are no different.
IC Questions
(Sneaky) Also, if she has any idea what other factions or groups may be pursuing the artifact?
X I will move to IC
(Sneaky) Are there any vehicles at the village we will be dropped off at?
X Most likely, though their status is unknown. Much of the area is abandoned, the status of any vehicles is unknown, though locals do still use old POS's. Note that you are not being dropped off at the village on the map, but rather a few clicks further away.
(Sneaky) Does she want to ride Big Bubba's love train?
X Replied... though you can continue to try.
>>>(Mr. Juan) I think this is mission critical information.
>>> X Indeed.

@Kliko: Just keep that thing away from Bubba!
On another note, this tells me we are going to deal with some serious shizzle since the GM provided this kind of armor buff. So If I add this up right Bubba will be sitting at the following armor level:
5/2 Form Fit
5/3 Camo Jacket
1/2 Helmet
2/1 Natural Body Armor edge
13/8 - WIth body of 12.

Jan 26 2013, 09:22 PM
Bubba, you're actually at (5 + 5/2 + 2 + 2) = 11 Ballistic and 6 Impact due to the way layering works. You will need a Quickness or 7 or 12 to avoid taking penalties to Quickness depending on how Bastard views my question at the bottom.
In SR3 it's all based on Quickness.
SR3 pg 285:
Every two points that either Ballistic or Impact exceed Quickness, reduce combat pool by 1 die. (This is total numbers, so add the full values of layered armor, not the benefit you get.)
When layering armor, each point that Ballistic exceeds your quickness, take a +1 TN penalty to all Quickness related tests. In addition, reduce the characters quickness by the TN penalty when you calculate the movement rate.
When a Helmet or Shield is used, the armor bonus it provides is added to other armor. This does not count as layering (full bonus applies) but does count towards determining the Quickness penalty.
Canon Companion pg 51
Form-fitting armor can be worn with other armor but does not affect a character when calculating penalties for Combat Pool loss.
Bastard does this apply to the Quickness penalty as well?

Duster is going to wear the FFA under the desert camo, with the TLBV between the two. He will have a helmet, but won't wear one when he's out scouting. He's going to take the lightest 'local' clothing, that can be rolled up, and secure two tops and two bottoms, of different colors, in 4 of the larger pouches, the other pockets will carry a basic first aid kit with anti-toxins (if there are any available), survival kit (map and compass, fishing line and hooks, water purification tabs, matches, 2 days rations, etc...), 10 mags of ammo (plus one in the gun, of course) (44 shots total), and a small amount of basic currency...Duster's basic paranoia survival kit

@Bastard
Concerning the Linguasoft Ludi wanted, she's going to use just regular legal channels. I take it R3 linguasofts are something you can legally pay for and just download off the matrix, right? Since she doesn't have any spare chips on her, or anything to burn chips, she's going to store the software in her headware (I think she had something like 100mp or so)
Also, is the Harness (TLBV) with built in SmartRepel a once piece item "attached" to the vest or just a harness? Because since Ludi has her own combat vest (with ruthenium coating) she'd probably just grab the harness and leave the rest.

Exactly. And I hadn't realized it didn't mention Quickness with the Combat Pool for FFA, but it I will lump it in with the CP. However, this form-fit has the thin Kevlar layer so include it at a +1 to your calculated armor (instead of the full value).

It is all one piece, though the ammo vest can be detached. You cannot wear both, but you can wear the harness to repel, and be retrieved, and store it in your pack the rest of the time. It's weight is slightly more than the regular repel harness.

Its the reason I maxed Kliko at quickness 6, so he can actually wear Full camo (5/3) + Helmet (1/2) + Fore arm guards(0/1) for 6/6 total without penalties. Besides, the trick is not to get shot...
I realized that. That is the catch of getting all this fancy gear and having to hike a distance to the target.
