what has your table come up with?

weve done a few things

cyberwings

ultra jet allows rule of 6 on initiative and gives 1d6

manipulate (matter) line of spells
Stahlseele
Me being the tinkerer of our group, i had come up with things like bioware alternates to cyber-blades for example.
Or modifications of other Cyber-Stuff. Namely the mouth-Whip got made into the Scorpion thing from Mortal Combat.
Metalmek
well I did run a game that involved greenwar ... and their selling lines of eco-friendly weaponry.

bio-degradable ak-47, colt pistol, and low tech weaponry (loose it in nature and in about 1 year a new tree will be born from it) .. degradable but not fast enough to erases all traces of clue from a balistic expert...
ammo made of bio-bones ... eco friendly cuzz it's lead free .

and from students developing porn BTL mixing it with persona fix, lingua soft .... they made accidently a BTL that act as a skillwire ... without the chrome ... adictive but less damaging on essence.
yet my players didn't try it yet... bit scared of it's potentials sides effects biggrin.gif silly.gif (demolition man, total recall and the dollhouse anyones?)

Modification to a Sim Module (Hot-Sim Enabled) along with a variant Personafix BTL that blocks out pain responses much like a Pain Editor. Hey, it can overwrite your own neural impulses, so detecting the pain signals and countering them should be possible...

I am jalous not thinking of it myself!

We're running SR3R, with a whole slew of custom drugs and odd, non-running related cyberware. I also wrote several threads on new cyberware and gear, mostly from CP2020, some custom, which I've posted here.
Stahlseele
There was at least ONE other Thread like this that i, myself, can remember.
I actually posted a whole slew of stuff including some stats in there.
But i can't find that thread <.<

I allow Mages to Quicken their spells by investing a point of their Magic in order to power it instead of Karma. Until the spell is released it is just like they lost a point of Magic at which time it comes back. (The spell that is powered this way has to be legal to cast at their new Magic, not their old.)

If a Mage spends a point of Edge they can cast a spell that they don't actually know, but Drain is Physical and they can not resist it.

Casting spells while on the Astral is a bad idea, not only is the spell always at max overcast, but you do not get to resist drain.

Astral Combat is LoS and doesn't require anyone to "Shadowbox" or do anything silly.
Dumori
I sated out a how line of weapons form the pulse rife line in Alien(s) I posted it some place but I have edited it since then.
I've made few milspec fighter aircraft some thing that in 2072 there should be a few of the hard part was making them so AA weapon could down them yet there could be a massive threat.
Other than that I've made to much on the homebrew side.

Me and my GM are working on a pair of smartlinked Inline skates for this adept im working on. They complement the wall run and gliding abilities really well

So far they can conceal their wheels (and just look like clunky boots) and have wheel accelerators to increase speed to x2 from 1.5

Anyone else have any other suggestions for these?

maglaurus
One of my players recently stated he'd like to outfit his primary getaway vehicle with a mechanism that lets him drop caltrops on the road to slow and stop pursuers. The vehicle itself is an Ares Citymaster with numerous cosmetic modifications to make it look like an abandoned city government cleaning/maintenance truck.
McAllister
By caltrops do you mean spike strips? Because those are like homebrew, except they already got brewed the home of one of the developers. Arsenal, page 143.

I actually tried to get my player to go with the "road-strip" ejector, but he insisted spike strips could be dodged as opposed to a wide burst of caltrops that could cover more ground, knock out more than one pursuing vehicle, and they could be handmade, helping to prevent tracing the purchase of illegal materials. At least these are the player's arguments. I'm not sure how I'll rule on it, but I'm thinking that caltrops would produce a similar crash-test effect, but only cause a -1 penalty should the driver maintain control of the effected vehicle.

SAIBED
pronounced [sigh_bed]
symbiotic artificial intelligent biological enhancement device

The origin of these devices is unknown.

<<< I know exactly where t*@& $( *#(@)$$%% 043 lost #f^ best 959 kjf$$%(|file corrupted|>>>
*Ghost eater

Sightings are rare, as those who have them keep it a secret, or are killed in a most gruesome manner.

<<< Oo.. yea, I've seen a few of these things. There getting a little to common down by the harbor.>>>
*Bligh

<<<No joke I have had a buddy of mine get on of these in him last week. haven't seen him since that night.>>>

Removed from there host they look to be a messy animated wad of magnet wire, with a thimble sized hard mass in the center. they are almost too fast to see, and that makes them all the more dangerous. However they need the warmth and moisture of there host to survive, and can only survive so long out side one.

[a SAIBED chip can live 90 days without a host body. Should the host die the chips will leave the host in search of a new one]

There goal in life is to find a host and replicate. They will host in any mammal, but they seam to prefer (meta)-humans. Some theories suggest that they just go for the largest warm body mass.

[a host can support a number of SABIED chips equal to there body unmodified. Chips will not try to infest a "full" host, or one that has been infested withing the past 3 days. Every year, each chip will replicate a number of chips equal to the hosts body. The host dose not get any bonuses for the chips created by infesting chips. nor dose the chip try to influence or control the host. The new chip is to be considered "asleep" till it leaves the host. A chip will never try to infest it origin host. The act of leaving is a relatively painless, and produces no real wound.]

As the name suggests the host dose get benefit for hosting the strange device. this includes faster reflexes, tougher body, and a strange and almost unbelievable healing ability. what little observation we have of newly infested hosts it appears to take about 24hrs for the chip to fully install its self, and for the host to gain benefits. Though some essence consumption has been demonstrated, no pattern has yet been noticed.

[+1 to the following: combat pool, body, strength, quickness, init, reaction. The host also get a special regeneration power. at the start of every round, the host heals a number of boxes equal to the number of chips in the host. *Chips consume essence at a special rate see bottom of page*]

The disturbing feature of these chips is it's ability to take control of its host. All animals and some (meta)-humans have been turned into little more than a meat robot. It appears that the more chips a (meta)-human has the more likely of this happening. There are reports of people having up to 3 of these things in there system and still being in full control of them selfs.

<<<you do not want to have to deal with a junk yard dog full of these things>>>

[within 24 hrs of the chip implanting into the host the host must make a will test TN#3 for the first chip, and TN#3+(numbers of chips in the host) AKA 3 for the first 5 for the second, 6 for the third.
If the host wins the test the host remains unaffected mentally, and gains the chips bonuses.
If the host fails all mental stats, and magic are reduced to 0. The chip(s) take control of the body from that point on. pilot = 2+number of chips]

These things are scary to watch attack someone. They are so small and fast it is sometimes hard to tell what is actually happening. There is not much to them. Step on the little bugger and it done for. If they get on you skin they are in you blood in a blink though.

<<<one of the little buggers got on a buddy one night in a back alley while we were... well never mind that. either way he thought he chased it off, not knowing what it was. Turns out it had gotten into and stuck in his vest's plate pocket. We all found it later at the... well never mind that too. [The chip only takes a simple action to burrow in. in order for it to get closet enough to burrow in, the chip will make an unarmed attack against the target, rolling 3 dice. If the target has impact armor, for every 3 points, the chip will take 1 extra pass to latch in, as it must find a soft spot it can get through. Upon burrowing the host will take 4M damage (armor can not reduce) that can be resisted by body, but even if no damage is taken the chip is still in. Any full body sealed suit with a impact rating will make you immune to there assault.]

[extra rules]
chips like each other's company, and can sense each other up to 30m away. A chip will prefer a host that already has a chip in it.

[SAIBED stats]

quickness 4
str 1
pilot 3 sensors 3
run x6
rea 4
init 2

/edit *

[essence consumption]
option # 1
lose essence as per the essence loss flaw.
the host can regain essence as per a vampire.
the essence drain ability can be explained as the chip's tendrils extending into the victim. If there are new chips ready to be "born" they will take the opportunity to implant into the draining victim. this victim gets no chance to fight off, or dodge the implantation. If the victim is drained to 0 the victim will become meat robot, assuming there is a new chip to infest.
If the host reaches 0 essence he will be forever a meat robot.

option #2
chips take up .6 essence each.
however they can "stack" with any all ready installed cyber ware that can take accessories or add on's.
they have a preference for attaching to cyberware and will install in any open "essence slots", in say a cyber-arm, before takeing essence from unused "aires"
if the host is ever reduced to 0 or lower the host will turn into a mindless meat robot, unless cybermancy can be started within the next 8hrs.

Ah, Mag, you're killin' me! Naw, I'm just being dramatic. Tell your player that the road strip is ejected while it's curled up; the description specifically says it's wide enough to cover four lanes of traffic, so obvious it's folded up for storage and unrolls when you deploy it. In order to spread enough caltrops across 4 lanes for it to be worth it, you'd have to throw a box of them big enough to fit a troll!

I know caltrops are cool, but road strips are better. If he needs more cool factor, show him the zapper strips; those f*ck with the vehicle AND all the passengers get a tingle.

If you haven't already, go rent a copy of AirGear and watch it. It's a wonderful anime to pull ideas from given your stated character concept.

A mission I made involved the Colt M1911 anniversary limited edition firearm. It was a heavy pistol with an internal silencer, electronic fireing, and an internal smartlink(but allowed no further mods), but counted as a Colt M1911 for legal purposes and thus was legal to sell in most stores, or it would have been if all the prototypes didn't get stolen.
Mr. Mage
Power Stones - Act just like Foci for a mage, but rather than confer a dice pool bonus, they are allowed to absorb some of your Drain. They essentially take some of the Drain Damage for you, and then disintegrate when they've taken their fill. They take up a Foci slot for determining what the maximum nuber of Foci you can bind to you. but do not require Karma to do so and are slightly more expensive, money-wise.

Enchanted Weapons - We actually worked out some stats for magically enhanced weapons that can be used by non-Awakened. For the most part, they just act as though they were Weapon Foci, but can be used unbound by a Mundane so long as he has the corect weapon skill. Some of them, however, have other effects. Our Street Sammy's katana, for instance, is enchanted to be able to cut through armor easily and so the enchantment grants an additional -1 to AP.
Dumori
You mean like theose unique enchantments they added.
Mr. Mage
yea I suppose. But I haven't found too many rules for weapon/unique enchantments, so the GM and I usually just make stuff up and figure out the costs. If there is a place where such rules can be found, please tell me, but Street Magic only has a paragraph or so about possibilities of unique enchants, not actual rules (unless I missed something).

If it helps, I play SR4, so if these rules exist in earlier versions, I may not have said books, (but can easily get their PDFs...)

Just a few quick conversion ideas from guns from a certain videogame series. Mostly because while teaching my friend who is new to SR about the setting, we happened to be playing some Social Slayer.

BR55 - Assault Rifle/Longarm
Damage 7P
AP -1
Mode: BF
RC: 2
Capacity: 36©

Designed as a main infantry rifle, the BR55 Battle Rifle combines the versatility and ammo capacity of an assault rifle with the accuracy and reliability of a standard rifle. The BR55 is constructed to fire a 3 Round Burst with every pull of the trigger, and with the 36 round clip, can fire 12 such bursts before being emptied. The BR55 comes standard with an imaging scope, rigid shock pad, and the weapon's unique design provides 1 point of recoil compensation. The BR55 fires only narrow burts, and uses sniper rifle ammunition. A character can chose to use either their automatics or longarms skill when firing the BR55.

MA5C ICWS
Damage 6P
AP -3
Mode: SA/BF/FA
RC: -
Capacity: 32©

The MA5C is considered an Individual Combat Weapon System. Designed to handle any situation, this bullpup assault rifle rifes a specialized Armor Penetrating round, giving it more ability to deal with heavily armored opposition than a standard assault rifle. However, the MA5C rounds are heavy enough to often overpenetrate unarmored targets: Modify this weapon's DV by -1 against targets without at least 3 Ballistic armor.

Our group is working on shotgun capsule rounds filled with foam explosive. 3 foam rounds followed by a stick and shock round.....should go BOOM!

You should be warned there's a cost to this. For a mundane to use a magical weapon pretty much entails artifact possession type effects which modify his normal behaviour. (which is quite fitting IMO).

Because I'm curious...Splash grenades can be filled with various substances, including Freeze Foam. Since the consistency of Freeze Foam and Foam Explosive are bound to be similar in a liquid state, would people be adverse to allowing it to be distributed in a similar manner? How would you rule the DV since it'd be difficult to evenly distribute the foam or ascertain how much was on any specific target?

(Note: The example reminded me of a very early SR4 game at a GenCon SoCal where I played a combat mage. Our street sam had nearly killed the team by critically glitching on a grenade toss--later in the mission he had applied some foam explosive to a door and said he just needed a dose of electricity to ignite it. With him standing less than a meter from the foam, I tossed a lightning bolt. BOOM.)
Kyoto Kid
...Most of my hombrewed stuff has been vehicles and aircraft. I just liked a bit more variety and a few more familiar names (like the Mini).

For guns, I usually consult Rayguns excellent work, however I did spec out the Soviet OTS-38, (one of only two silenced revolvers ever made in RL) and an experimental sniper rifle (actually mini MPL) with a "smart" projectile (inspired by a programme I saw on the telly).

I also worked up an extension of the Synaptic accelerator that aided in vehicular operation (2nd ed). Didn't grant a Contol Pool or remote operation like a true VCR did, but did allow for extra initiative dice in combat situations and was more essence freindly.

As part of the above I included what could be considered a "prototype" of the "skinlink".

For one campaign that involved off world operations (pre-Target Wastelands), I wrote up a modular space suit system (with armour options) , EVA Gear, (such as MMUs, thruster packs, and orbital sleds) and my Neo Anarchist's Guide to Real Space (all 2nd ed)

OT: OK, why am I seeing links appear in my posts? Is this some new "feature" (bug) of Internet Explorer? One more reason to loathe IE besides it having no realtime spellcheck like FF does.
Stahlseele
what kind of links? O.o
One of the Things my group came up with was the reasonable thought that VCR's can be built into cyber replacement limbs and only take up essence for the needed DNI . .

That sounds like a great idea if you need to apply explosives somewhere (like the other side of a brick wall with a small window in it) that you couldn't reach yourself, but in combat, wouldn't shooting someone 4 times with ex-ex slugs usually work out just as well?
Stahlseele
Usually, shooting someone 3 times with a shotgun is enough, no matter what ^^
