Spawned by the 'Freddy vs. Jason' thread (for me), I have to ask:

Is the (spoiler) still there?

Let's test.

[ Spoiler ]

If the answer is 'yes': Where can I change my settings regarding Spoilers?

If the answer is 'no': Any chance of getting it back?

Thanks. smile.gif

I was wondering how long it was going to take someone to ask about this. See for yourself -- click on the [ Spoiler ] for a surprise. smile.gif

Ahh!

Good Idea.

But I would make it a rollover or something, I quess most people won't try if theri cursor doesen't change.

But, thanks for the fast answer! smile.gif

Is there a way to make Spoilers automatically visible, as they could be in the old Forums?

It turns into a hand right now. We're looking at putting in a little icon for it so it'll be more obvious, but it's pretty far down the todo list.

Nope. We could, but it's only one click and it's not worth the effort to add the profile option and change the way it works.

That's cool. I just thought I must have been missing something.

A CSS "hover" thing might do the trick, it's painless.

Too painless. You could hover over the link accidentally even if you don't want to view the spoiler. I want it to be an action that is unlikely to be taken accidentally or in the normal course of viewing a post.

Umm... No. It doesen't.

If you wish so, I could send you a screenshot, but it just schanges into the typical text selector. No Hand there.

Sorry.

It does on my screen.

It should work. Maybe you could update the browser? I'm pretty sure 5.0 already had the CSS support needed. I know I used this setting on the Archive some years ago and I was using IE 4.x
The_Sarge
Hmm... So an update it should get.

I know it has CSS support. *shrugs*
Coukd be Problem in front of screen, though.

Thanks for the looking in!
Neuron Basher
IE 5.0 is very very old. I would think that an update would be a good idea, yes. I'm about 99% sure that will solve the problem for you.

As you want.

So you have the color option... you make a boxed div (like a quotation) and use the same font color as the background. You have to select it to read the spolier. Even the slightest CSS support (like MSIE sarcastic.gif ) should accept that.

You have an example here (with a hover thing that you can ignore since you don't want it, you won't see it if you have MSIE).

The current solution works fine, it just doesn't give feedback to ancient browsers that it's a link then they mouseover it. I'm personally happy with it and don't plan on changing it to one like you linked to, but thanks for the info.
