Full Version: Player looking for online games

BetaFlame
Hey there

I'm looking to join an SR4 game online. I've read a lot about the system, but never had a chance to play it, no one in my area plays, and my wife and kids just aren't feeling this system. I loved SR3 years ago when I played it, and love the SR4 backdrop, just no real chance to explore it from a player point of view.

I tend toward non-combat junkie characters, usually information gathering specialists like Astral mages and Technomancers, but I have been known to play a speed freak edged weapon Adept from time to time.

I'd greatly prefer an IRC real-time style client to a PbP game.

Thanks for the time smile.gif

You still looking BetaFlame? I will be soon, too.

I'm in the same boat as you (nobody who does role playing games anywhere near here), and would love to get into a real-time online game.

I'm still looking smile.gif

I don't post very often, as you can tell from my post history.

Can sometimes find me on AIM BtaFlme

Keep an eye out in the "Welcome to the Shadows" forum. Games tend to open up there from time to time. Use the options at the bottom of the page to order the view of threads based on Topic Start date, and you will see the newest threads (and therefore the most likely to still have slots open) at the top of the list.

Thanks for the idea!

I'd looked at the Johnson Memorial thread, but hadn't thought to sort them.

You are welcome. Also, mousing over the Topic title gives the Topic Start date.

Have you guys checked out http://newseattle.org? It's an online roleplaying game that has been picking up in activity of late. They're always looking for more GMs and players to pop up.

Thanks for the link and heads up on this site.

Trouble is MUSHes never play like actual games. They are always dominated by people politics, where to get involved in plots you have to know certain wizards on the MUSH who are running them and so on and so on, and the plots always wind up compromised and minched. It's sad, really, because a persistant modeled Shadowrun world would be really cool.

QFT. I was involved with a MUSH many many years back that was doing SR and if you didn't know the right people, you just sat around doing nothing. It'd take a ton of staff to do it right.
