might be a simple question, but I can't seem to find what the limit is for foci limits? For instance, can a character bond to a force 10 counterspelling foci or is there a limit to how much force a mage can bond to for 1 foci?

The limit is 1 Focus per point of Magic. Right now I don't believe there to be a limit on the Force of the foci you bond. Currently foci are only listed in the Book up to Force 6, although I don't believe there is an explicit cap saying a focus can never exceed Force 6. Street Magic should provide more info on that.

You can bond a number of foci up to your magic attribute but you can only have a number active at one time up to your logic.

and one that may or may not be limited to character creation:

Maximum Total force of all foci = 5x magic
"The total Force of all bonded foci is limited to five times the character’s Magic attribute." pg 85


I thought there was one saying max force of any one foci = magic, but I can't find it, and may be remembering a rule from an earlier edition.

Isn't there a blanket rule on device ratings being capped at six? I know there was for character generation, also there would still be a question of if Foci fit under the broad category of "device"

The matrix chapter mentions devices with a rating of 7 or 8, but says they're exceedingly rare.

there is one line in the book that says spirits and such are capped at force 6... i think it might mention focii as well.

mind you, i don't think the line was supposed to stay in the book as a rule, but it is in there. somewhere. can't remember the exact reference though =P
