What happens when a drone is being fed commands by more than one controller? Like when a hacker is spoofing commands to it? On the drone's initiative, it acts on the most recent command? That makes sense to me, but does anyone have any experience with this issue?

Also, what about when a rigger is jumped into a drone? What happens when commands are isued to it? Are they simply ignored in favor if the jump signal? I would imagine that commands regarding physical actions (fire at target) would be, since there's a continuous sim signal exchange. But can a hacker spoof a command to dump the rigger from its subscription list?

Well if the rigger is currently jumped into the drone he can shut off the drones dog brain. Preventing any command function from working.

That makes good sense.

I don't see how a hacker could control a jumped drone in any way, but someone could still hack into it and crash its OS. Or shut the rigger's port and then issue commands, or turn control over to a different rigger?
Jack Kain
yeah they could, I don't have much experence with hacking let alone drone rigging.

I would think that yes, a hacked drone would follow it's most recent command on it's action.

A jumped in drone is being directly controled by the rigger, and not the "dog brain" so you would have to dump/disconnect the rigger to take control, but yes, crashing the OS and making the whole thing shut down would make the drone inoperable, untill it can re-boot, and It's not clear, but I would say the rigger is forceably disconnected at that point and would suffer dumpshock.

Remember, riggers who are "jumped in" can use hot sim, so they may be capable Hackers as well, with some good cybercombat skills/programs. I would think that they would have to "jump out" to engage directly in cybercombat, but they can give commands to other subscribed drones while directly rigging, so I would say the same holds true for commanding Agents or Sprites.

I think you're right (and Jack, too). Thanks.
