got an e-mail wondering what I've been up to from a fellow DSer

welps peeps lemme tell ya that I've finally got my brand spankin' new computer! WOOOT!!! you might have asked "Hocus you sexy beast you went on that old game shopping spree and the wife found out and nagged like there was no tomorrow! how did you get permission to get a comp?" simple mis hombres, she forgot our anniversary! yep ya heard me right, the WOMAN forgot! :O :O so the position was reversed, now I am the master! I parlayed the guilt into a new comp! to be on the womans side for just a brief moment, now I know why women get married they have all the power with the shackles of marriage. oh and when it came, and I set it up the reaction was just like this 5:50 oh pure orgasmic joy! better than sex!.......if i could actually remember that.....frown.gif so it MUST be better!

da next day i bough warhammer online and played it for a few days and all was right as rain, that is until I reinstalled WOW. after that my internet connection went fubar so i uninstalled it and it seems to be doing a bit better. If you are on WAR lemme know, shadowrun guild?

man this comp is a beut! the wider screen means i can see all the goings on in gaming and hardcore porn!

so how has everyone been?

btw, i laughed hard at your post, that was really funny ^^

Internet-CVonnection goes SNAFUBAR after installing a game?
doyou get any error messages?
tried it again with same result?
Changed anything else?
behind a router?
problem solved allready?
(Techsupporter in his Holidays if you can'T tell ^^# . . damnit i actually miss those problems at work @.@)

How is Warhammer by the way? I've been thinking about picking it up since I heard it has awesome PvP.

with the connection problems, I have deduced that it is either my isp or vista. maybe a combo of both. Very annoying, went through all the rigamarole trying to fix it and have not gotten it runing smooth as silk.

Warhammer is good, pvp is definately better than wow, my time expired on WAR i have a 19 WP, 15 RP, and a 14 eng. All very good characters but since I only made it ti T2 I have yet to really explore it all.

Went to best buy today and saw that lich king was out....so I bought that instead of a game card to renew WAR (bought a WOW game card) ack man i have 1k people in queue and estimated times of 102 minutes! ack!

Had a Circuit City card with $190 on it. I bought a digital camera for a trip and it failed about 2/3rds of the way though. I had to buy another, cheaper camera so I could take pictures. When we brought it back, they said it was too late to return it but they'll be nice and take it back but we'll have to get the same camera or take it as a gift card.

So I got Fallout 3 about a week or so (great fun) ago and then yesterday I got Red Alert 3 (actually pretty cool so far), Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, and Bioshock (also pretty cool so far). I also got Pink Floyd: The Wall and a Pink Floyd concert DVD.

Figured I should get it in case Circuit City actually doesn't make it out of restructuring.

any tips on taking care of my comp? this weekend I'm gonna get compressed air and maybe something to clean the screen. I what this baby in tip top condition for as long as possible.

1. Get a nice UPS. Keep the system in clean power and it'll run for a long time.

2. Keep the air flow going. Fans going in the right direction, nothing blocking the fan input or outputs.

3. Get it off of the floor if you have cats, dogs, carpets, or if you shed during the winter. The dust and hair are pretty decent insulators and heat is your enemy. I've never used compressed air on my systems and haven't had a problem with lots of dust build up. When I open up the old system once in a while, I'll run a little hand vac around and pick up the occasional stray bits but generally it stays pretty clean.

4. Keep your grubby paws off of the screen and you won't have to worry about cleaning it. I have several LCD screens and haven't tried to clean any of them. Even the Mac Powerbook that's going on 5 years old. In other words, I can't help on the cleaning part smile.gif

I personally wouldn't use a vacuum because of ESD (electrostatic discharge) which is not so good, but they do have vacuums designed for it.

Compressed air is the way to go in my opinion

can do all that save for number 4. what with 2 kids and it its bound to happen they'll touch screen, but moot point as when the wife was using my comp and touching the screen while talking to me about somethig I asked her not to touch the screen, so she of course touched it 7 times and left smudge marks frown.gif

Tell her she's ruined the screen coating. The oils from the finger prints have eaten into the screen and the mark is now permanent. Now you'd like to get a new, wider screen biggrin.gif

I've seen several suggestions for isopropyl alcohol and distilled water (50/50 mixture) and a microfiber cloth.

however, if a hornet stings somebody...does that person then proceed to the hornet's nest and comences beating it with a stick?
