(Sorry if theses question have been asked in the past, but searching for AI is impossible in the engine due to the four character minimum requirement.)
Has anyone experimented with a metasapient AI jumped in a humanoid* drone ? How would this work ? Can this be made playable ? Could this character join a SR team and contribute decently ?
(*If humanoid drones are unavailable at start -- being costly -- anyone experimented with other drone forms ?)
I've read the rules, once or twice, but for this kind of character it is quite scattered, and having never played a rigger, this gets easily confusing. So can anyone provide a standard canvas or example of what's necessary in a AI that pilots an android/drone (in terms of qualities, skills, equipment, attribute spread, and what not) ?
Thanks in advance !
P.S. : From a storyline perspective this seems like an interesting concept, but if it is meant to be frustrating at the table, I'd rather know first.

I once played an AI who was a tactical advisor for a SWAT group (GitS-inspired game), rigging a couple of combat drones from time to time. He was primarily a hacker, though.
I still have the chatsheet, but we ended with having to houserule a lot, the most major thing my GM allowed being AI home nodes accepting peripherals working as implants do for humans at the same cost.

Crosslinking from a few weeks agoSeriously, guys, start labeling your threads AI threads as 'artificial intelligence' instead. That way they're searchable.

Metasapient, I should think.

Suddenly, everyone starts calling their character reviews metasapient reviews. All of them.
What about PCAI?

I don't understand your first sentence.

That *is* the precise SR term for AIs, right?

yeah, sure is, but for some reason, when you look at the available threads, you'll see titles like 'critique my elf mage' instead of 'pimp my metasapient.

Whoa, thanks !
(But, as a side-note, it might be useful -- despite server loads -- to reduce the minimum to two characters. With indexing procedures, which could be automated server-side without lagging the server down to a crawl, I think it could be managed.)

… Because those threads are about elf mages, not AIs. *shrug*.
