i would realistically like to take 5 requests at a time-so i will take em as
they come and do a lil chit chat for character detail via private messages.

let er rip.

edit:i already asked if this would or would not step on my dear brother Squinky's toes,
and he gave me the go ahead =p

edit2: hopefully fixed the url issue(sorry)

Welcome to DS! Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Hmm...well, seeing character art is always a great pastime. biggrin.gif Especially when the great folks here like to draw em up for us, when folks like myself can't.

Im not sure which one yet but i have a few characters that id like to choose one of, i just have to pick which one. I like your style too, ive been perusing this art and it's something that i could definately get into! Thanks for the offers, and be prepared to get a few requests wink.gif
crizh
That took me ages to work out. Was trying to access your site using my mobile 'cos I'm out working. Said you didn't exist and deviantart's search was no help...

Finally got the lap top out and realized the URL you posted was malformed...

Nice work btw, I'd love to have some my characters in that sort of style. I've two I'm playing at the minute, one doesn't have proper description yet but the other one is below.

[ Spoiler ]
StormWatcher
cool cool,
thanks for the compliments Crizh-i will start work asap
=)
and thanks btw for the spectacular description.
ElFenrir
Ok, I decided here grinbig.gif, going for the Sam, a little actiony-sounding but i was in the mood to make and play something tried and true.

[ Spoiler ]

Ok, take care and have fun with it! Looking forward to seeing him if he gets in the queue.
knasser
Wow -you do very nice work. I know your five slots are going to fill up fast so I'm going to get in fast here. smile.gif

It's a difficult decision choosing which character to put forward. I'm going to go with one of my favourites, but if it doesn't appeal to your artistic sensibilities, let me know and I wont take offence... I'll just post a different one. smile.gif

[ Spoiler ]

And if no-one has said it, yet - welcome to Dumpshock, great to have you.
Zak
Nice work there smile.gif

I'd like to throw in one of my characters.

Red is a Troll. I've seen you have done one before, so if you want I will throw in a better description once I am back at my SR stuff.

Just reserving a spot nyahnyah.gif
StormWatcher
okay, updated my reserved spots,
thanks for the interest and the welcome =)

Eventually i would love more of a description from Zak about his troll,
but considering it's a holiday weekend, no huge hurry.

Almost done with Voodoo,
she is half colored, sadly, sleep got in the way.
=)

Method
Stormwatcher- welcome to DS.

I really like your art, especially "down boy". That thing looks creepy.
StormWatcher
okay, here is the finished product on Crizh's character
http://gawthbunnyblue.deviantart.com/art/Voodoo-80790138

i hope you enjoy,
i didnt go as gritty on the shading on this one..
for some reason, i couldnt get it in my mind that she should get the grit treatment =p

so, next on the list would be...Elfenrir i believe.

and to Method, thanks for the compliments-
i like to get creative with my blood spirits.
Kyleigh Wester
Wow, i'd love to make a request after HolyChampion finishes Dataflow, hope your still doing art then. Beautiful pictures.
crizh
Sweet - Sesame Street 2070 - coming soon to a sprawl near you!

Thanks dude, that's brilliant...
ElFenrir
Whoa, i really like that picture! That is a cool new take on a runner. Looks really nice and i do like your style alot; its got a really...calm? is the word maybe? quality to it(though the halloween picture is vicious biggrin.gif)

Looking alot forward to seeing Alex!
knasser

Excellent! Top stuff! Can't wait to see what you do with mine!

Would it be possible for you to say how long each picture takes? I'm trying to develop my own artistic skills and it's good to know how long something like that is "supposed" to take.

thanks Knasser/Khadim...
if you wanted i could give a rough estimate of how long each picture
takes/took-
honestly though, i usually don't clock my drawing pace-
my process usually goes like this though-
get into the head of the character-
to me, this is probably the most important part, it allows me
to get an idea of their attitude and how they might hold themselves, etc-
it might sound crazy...but thats what i TRY to do.
then its all about sketching and getting that feel-when i am comfortable
with a pose from the basic skeletal sketch i go balls out and add detail-
from that point, i scan it in, and juggle the image between photoshop and
open canvas if i feel like coloring it-
of course, there is a lot of getting up and pacing and thinking and stuff
in between...
and draw times may vary do to phone calls etc =p
all in all, i think Voodoo took me(just drawing) 2 hours
that's a guess though

Elfenrir's character is taking a little longer-
i have a skeleton down now-but it took be awhile to get into
the proper character mindset.

Edit:i think the most important thing to note though is this-
work at your own pace-
you shouldn't time yourself-
ElFenrir
Getting into a character's head is important for me for playing them, that's for sure. It's really cool you to it for art, too.

Alex is an interesting character in the sense when i made him he started as ''combat samurai action guy who kicks the crap out of people'', but i wasn't much into his head, he was another character for me, albiet a fun looking one to play.

I wrote his backstory in diary form and all of the sudden he's probably one of the most living characters I have at the moment. smile.gif

If you have trouble getting into his head, let me know and i can PM you more details if it will help!
Fortune
Very nice. smile.gif

Maybe I should actually put my name down ... I forgot yesterday.

Claymore
[ Spoiler ]
Lord Ben
One of the guys in our game is writing a graphic novel IG about his Shadowrunning career. A fake book cover with a few other PC's in minor sidekick rolls would be cool. If you wanted something more complex that would be awesome.
Kyoto Kid
...I love your style. Has a "book illustration" (one of my fave styles) feel to it. I especially like Memories (the girl's expression is priceless), and Vodoo - (looks like something my Namesake character would wear, hmm she did pick up a bunch of hippie clothing before the last run).

I would definitely love to see your interpretation of my little demolitionist/musician Leela.

[ Spoiler ]

...no big rush as others are already in the queue.
holychampion
Welcome to DS! Great work, I can't wait to see more! I was gonna remain silent and just lurk but I couldn't resist after reading your comments on how long it takes to draw a picture/illustration.

Well said! I believe it is absolutely important to do this even if you have to ask questions.

I couldn't agree more!
I truly enjoyed reading that post, it showed me that not only am i not the only one who goes thru a similar process but that it's a sound one.
Your art is spectacular and I can't wait to see more!
When your ready I'll have a request of my own, a physad that is one of my favorite characters and one that I am truly interested to see your take on.
Happy Easter! BTW. smile.gif

Here is some Magus goodness
for Elfenrir-
http://gawthbunnyblue.deviantart.com/art/Magus-80846621
i hope you like it
=)

thanks for all the comments and interest once again to the
newcomers to the thread,
and also, thank you all for the warm welcome.

looks like i have a very interesting cyber girl to draw next =)

edit:i hope you like the jacket, i got a lil creative with the "heavy metal style"
another edit:if it appears to dark on your monitor it could be that i severely need
to adjust my gamma-
looking at the image on another monitor currently, as well as having another report
of it appearing too dark.
(sorry about that)
Squinky
OMFG!

Stop....Going...so....fast....You are making me feel bad.

Heh, digging the stuff so far Bro. But shouldn't you be working on designing this weekends run since I won that bet? smile.gif

there was no bet, you were not man enough to go through with it since i
filled you with self doubt =p

but regardless, yeah, it's a more than likely-just need to get someone to roll
a character-

thanks for the comments bro.
ElFenrir
Wowza, that is awesome! biggrin.gif Don't worry about the darkness, my laptop is really dark as well, but i can see him just fine. I really do like the pose and how you designed him; he's go the very pale look, the light hair, and yeah, the heavy metal jacket looks really cool, i think i kind of picture it a new way now!

I love it! Thanks for this.
kookyjeld
Beautiful artwork! I agree with a previous poster - your work looks like it could've been pulled out of a published book. grinbig.gif

...that is very nice.

I should have requested my neo-goth-Victorian styled decker & Inventrix Violet instead. She'd look perfect in your style. Though I am still very curious to see little Leela. BTW Revised her description just a bit.
StormWatcher
And here is Knasser's
Porcelain Doll character-
http://gawthbunnyblue.deviantart.com/art/The-Doll-80911886
it bugged me not making her face more doll like...
i will admit, but all descriptions said it was statuesque and featureless-
=p

The position was odd for me, seemed robotic, unnatural,
my gf says that's what made it work over the other sketches i was
throwing around.
so...next would have been Zak, but i think i am going to have to bump him down.
crizh
Hawt-dang!
knasser
Oh wow! That's just well, creepy... isn't it? You've drawn her with her "combat face" on. Put that with the strange, marionette pose and it really makes the character as unnatural as I wanted her. I think you've actually succeeded in making her more disturbing than even I pictured.

Following our little PM conversation, I'm glad you went with her marble-white eyes. It lends the figure a sort of sleepwalker quality. But I still can't help but imagine that sword flicking down with mechanical speed and precision.

Thank you for this. In all the physical characteristics - the ceramic look, the inner black, the concealing sleeve, she's exactly as I pictured. But you've added something else that wasn't there before. I guess that's art. You've got some genuine talent - don't let it go idle like most people do.

-Khadim.

(p.s. And the flowered scabbard is a really nice touch. smile.gif )
ElFenrir
I agree, it's a very eerie and cool picture. I look forward to seeing more of your art; you do have alot of talent there!

I also have to say im quite intrigued by the Stormwatcher character. He has an appearance in alot of pieces, i think he's really cool as well. smile.gif
knasser
Hey, ElFenrir, I bet my pale white, left-handed, sword-wielding samurai could beat up your pale white, left-handed, sword-wielding samurai. biggrin.gif nyahnyah.gif

-K.
ElFenrir
Bah i say! My pale, white, left-handed, sword-wielding samurai also fights uber-unarmed being unnaturally strong and with mad reflexes. nyahnyah.gif grinbig.gif

...but i think my buddy's old assault cannon monster might eat them both.

Since when did pale, white, left-handed sword wielding samurai become so popular? There's two in one thread. biggrin.gif
Mäx
Wow those are really cool notworthy.gif notworthy.gif cyber.gif

especially the Porcelain Doll, knasser that character is so cool and creepy.

what he said
StormWatcher
Here is Fortune's character Claymore-
http://gawthbunnyblue.deviantart.com/art/Claymore-80930015

i am not entirely happy with how it came out as a whole,
and i have to admit that it could be due to my ooc/ic dislike of the ancients <<
but, all of that aside, i hope you dig it Fortune-
i juggled with a lot of poses, and for some reason this one won out.

And to Elfenrir,
The Stormwatcher aka Finn
is for all intents and purposes my character-
thanks for the compliments =)

prolly going to wait awhile to see if i can get a description from Zak,
then i may bump him down to do KK's
Lord Ben
John Paul (adopted name) An Ork Aztec Shaman, escaped from creepy evil and adopted into a Catholic orphanage. Anyhow, dirt poor, wears his hair short, hispanic, his T-shirts are typically throwaways like old sports shirts. He has a cruifix around his neck and lots of prayer beads (fetiches). He probably has a basketball tucked under one arm.

He loves summoning and binding plant spirits, so it'd be cool if some potted tree were next to him too if you can manage.

Hey Ben, could you give me his age and general build, as in, chubby, fit, etc?
and what color is his hair? I am guessing black, but i don't wanna assume.
Lord Ben
Yeah, black. I'm thinking short and strong, but not well fed or exercised. He's 18, but might look a bit younger.

IC I described him when the PC's found him in the streets as having a t-shirt for last years losing major sports team. IE, Patriots 19-0 super bowl champions shirt. They donate them IRL to orphanages, etc in South America so that's what my guy was wearing.

Actually, I quite like the pic. I am always surprised at the talent of others in this regard, as I have absolutely none at all. Very nice job. Thanks again.
StormWatcher
So, i couldnt wait and bumped Zak down a notch-(i needed to doodle something)
so, Here is Kyoto Kid's Leela-
http://gawthbunnyblue.deviantart.com/art/T...amonds-80946945
i got into this pic a lot...
something about the character's past and the child like appearance got to me,
so i hope you enjoy it.

still would love to get a description from Zak
Zolhex
Ok so I like what I've seen and thought it was time for me to speak up and ask for you to do one for me.

This will be for my character Cardain he was a PC of mine in 2nd and I like the idea behind him so I made him an npc and use him in my games as an NPC alot. He tends to be the fixer for the group.

I'm thinking I'll also send it to Squinky if you are both ok with that.

I figure it might be real cool to see a version from each of ya.

I’ll send you the description in a bit and thanks a ton for all your hard work and time.
Fresno Bob
Would you draw Aziz, my character in the The Gutter game?

Here's a basic description, and a link to his character sheet.

Aziz is a tall, Middle Eastern human. Despite his upbringing and ethnicity, he dresses like any respectable gutterpunk, with motorcycle boots, ragged jeans, ripped up t-shirts, and a biker jacket. His coarse black hair is kept cropped short, except for a longer patch on top, kept wrapped up into a topknot. Aziz has several tattoos, an oriental dragon on his left forearm, a chaos star on his right shoulder, a stylized black rose on his left pectoral, a scorpion on his right forearm, and a snake curled around his left bicep and shoulder. He generally carries his katana with him, bringing his submachine gun only on special occasions.

Character Sheet
StormWatcher
Cool Cool, i look forward to getting the description Casazil,
way to play on any sibling rivalry we might have as well =p

Also, Voorhees, you are added to the list =)

Zolhex
The discription has been sent have fun with it oh and Squinky drew the Tattoo mentioned for me once it was cool.

Noooooo! You're not allowed to do any better pieces then my Porcelain Doll. frown.gif wink.gif Seriously - that picture is two kinds of brilliant! V. emotive - you just want to scoop her up and give her a teddy bear. biggrin.gif

I love how fast you are turning these around, as well. It's very impressive.

-Khadim.
Tobias
First of all, You're art is great. Would love to throw my hat into the submissions with my current Character for Chaos Theory, Stormcrow. His character sheet is linked in my sig. If you need any more info feel free to PM me.
ElFenrir
Yeah, i mean, these are all, again really impressive. I also like the color contrasts of each one; they all seem to have their own 'color scheme' in a way, with the background and the like. smile.gif
StormWatcher
thanks again for all the compliments,
i will probably try starting on the second run tonight-
have a few brainstormed ideas for Lord Ben's dood,
and i look forward to doing a few of the other metatypes =p
(though creepy robot girl was something new)

Still crossing my fingers and hoping KK likes his child soldier
(reminded me of a Funker Vogt song)
