I am at work so I don't have my BBB with me, but when hacking in on the fly it says the system gets a extended test on each attempt. How? There is no interval given, and doesn't that mean the computer will always succeed? Souldn't it just be a test against your firewall+stealth I believe? I know there has been a lot of discussion about the Matrix in 4ed, I personally really like it but really want to understand this. Thank you in advance for the help

When you hacking on the fly, for every hacking+exploit test you make, the node gets to make a analyze+firewall test with a threshold equal to your stealth program, and the nodes hits from multiple tests add up. While most nodes will never be able to get 5+ hits in one test, if it takes you a bunch of tests to break into the node, they get the same number of tests to gather enough hits to detect you.

So basically it is a race to get in before the system hits your threshold? Makes sense. Could make for a tense couple of rolls as you try to get in. Thanks a lot.

Ok one more thing. The test for probing says extended test once when you make the try. Would this just be an opposed test?
