Shadowrun's setting has pretty much mastered the full-sensory experience courtesy of simsense. Cyberlimbs take full advantage of that fact. If anything, you gain full control over how sensitive you want your artificial limbs to be; numbing it completely if you need to do something like pick up a hot pan or redline it for a little romantic fun. With that kind of technology around and in very common use, I see people having a lot fewer reservations about going chrome, especially if it would be an overall life improvement for them.
I doubt if I'd consider replacing my eyes though unless it was something really serious. Not because I'd be afraid of the technology, but just because I have a phobia about anything dealing with my eyes. Even the thought of contact lenses freak me out. But that's pretty rare considering all the people out there who wear contacts or undergo laser eye surgery.

Not all that rare. I'm like that too. My eyes are very very sensitive. Heck in school when I was in theather, they'd come towards me with the eye make up and my eyes would just flood with tears.
I tried contacts ONCE. Ugg. That was enough.
I can't even use eye drops with out freaking out. Just typing this post has my eyes watering. lol
It's part of the reason I WOULD switch out. I'd get cyber eyes quick. Then just upgrade as life went on if I needed to.
Thing is alot of people are ignoring the fact that there's a huge gulf between "Standard consumer chrome" and "Shadowrunner combat chrome" Just normal cyber eyes, maybe enhanced vision, telescopic sight, AR included, with night sight is no big deal. They specifically state it's a "Lunch time procedure" that in 2072 it's common for people with perfectly working eyes, to upgrade to cyber.
Going full cyberlimbs with weapons and dermal plating is much different. All the big major major stuff is going to be more invasive.
