A bunch of older messages in my inbox have magically lost their contents. The message still appears, but it's just a name and sig, with none of the actual message content. This makes me sad because without that I can never remember who was nice to me frown.gif

The same happened to me. The most recent message whose body has vanished is from February 1, 2008, and the oldest message whose body is still present is from February 25, 2008.

I had the same problem. Some of the messages were quite old and prized, as well.

As they say... back it up?

Back up messages hosted on a forum? How?

(No sarcasm, I'm tech-challenged and I honestly have no idea.)

Yeah, that's no kind of solution whatsoever.

If in some strange world you were wrapping your gun in your lined coat and then somehow shoving it into your holster...
-Doctor Funkenstein

Why am I envisioning a tiny lined coat that a guy has hanging from a strap on his chest? And why do I find it endlessly hilarious?

I will take the database offline in the near future and check the indexes. I imagine the index become corrupt.

Save the page via your net browser.

Which works perfectly, I've got characters stored that way. Just remember, if you need to move it after you've saved it, you'll need to move the associated folder as well.

Default savename is index.php, you'll get a folder called index.php_files as well. Renaming it after you've saved it does funny things to the associations, so better to name it when you save it rather than afterwards.

Or just hit Ctrl+S.

Use the "Archive Messages" option under the Messenger section? I've done that, it's worked pretty well.

You old folks and your nun-GUI keyboard shortcuts. nyahnyah.gif
I'll probably be using that shortcut from now on.
