Hello Everyone,

I have a Matrix rules reference question for 3rd Edition. I'm wondering if it's possible to run Persona programs at lower ratings than the maximum. I know about Switching modes from page 123 of Matrix. That will allow you to bump above the MPCP rating.

My actual question is if I can code all Persona programs for maximums and reduce selectively as needed. Here are a couple of examples using 8/8/8/8/8

Legitimate 8/8/8/0/8
Stealth 8/2/3/12/2
Combat 8/6/8/6/4

Note Stealth is using Masking mode.

I assume this is possible, but I can't find a rules reference allowing it. Thanks for your assistance.

Although it has some exceptions like using coming on a read-only OMC, the Persona programs generally seem to be treated as ordinary programs and thus follow the rules for such; in consequence, you'd need to program (or buy) your persona programs with the Adaptive option (Matrix p83) in order to run it at a lower rating than base, modes aside.
