Also, I notice the SR games are marked either comfortable or a few none as far as experience. What if you have some experience, would that preclude someone from a comfortable level game?

Some Experience and Comfortable should work out the same. It's the usual vein attempt to not get complete newbies showing up to Missions events. While I'm all for teaching new players the game, our Missions GMs rarely have extra time to coach a newbie through his first Shadowrun session. That's one of the reasons we're doing the "Welcome to the 6th World" events this year, so we can hopefully funnel newer players into games to learn the basics of the system and even create a character so that they can then play in Missions and at least have some idea of what they're doing.

And, here's a full list with times, though it's subject to change as it's not entirely final until Event Reg goes live.

And are Primes allowed at the Scramble?

Heya Tea...

1) Primes are allowed at any special Missions event, which includes the Scramble.

2) Unfortunately, we ran into a speed bump regarding Prime Mission production... We had hoped to have the first two ready by the conventions, but due to real life, school, jobs, family, etc, the author originally slated to do PM-01 had to completely back out of the project at the last minute, and the author for PM-02 was delayed considerably. Since I wasn't sure if we would have any Prime Missions ready by the conventions (and I'm still not), I opted not to put any on the schedule. This is unfortunate, as I know some of you were looking forward to the launch of the Prime Missions. There's still a slight chance that one or more may be ready before the conventions, and if that happens we'll add them to our event roster as a late addition, and I'll be sure to let you guys know here, but... I'd say this late in the production cycle, the chances are slim. Sorry

One more Question, for the Missions events, should we bring our own character, or are characters provided?

Mostly a standard 400 Build Point point character. Guidelines are up at http://www.shadowrun4.com/missions/players/

If you need a refresher on the SR rules and want to wait to build a character, you can sign up for an early Welcome to the 6th World! game. Part of these will be creating a character using the new Runners Toolkit and PACKS system.

We will also have copies of the sample characters from the core book for players to use.

In any case, after your first Missions game, you can rebuild your character (or build a completely new one) and apply the karma, nuyen, and other rewards to the new character. YOu can only do this after the first mission though, so be sure you're happy with your character before you play your second game.

Well, we're 2 hours into event registration, and Shadowrun is about half sold out!

Our events are largely sold out at this point, though there are tickets still available to certain events.

If you tried signing up and couldn't get in, well, you still have a couple options.

1) Show up with Generics in hand. No shows happen, so there's a chance there will be an open spot even though the game is sold out.

2) Come GM for us! Yeah, not the same as playing, but it's still Shadowrun goodness, and you get the experience of helping others have fun with the events! Plus you can get a free badge, some compensation for your hotel room, and even some free Shadowrun stuff!

Yes, #2 means we still could use a couple Gamemasters for the convention. So if you're interested, drop us a line at srconvention(at)gmail.com!
