All,
I'm looking for four to six players for an experimental game using Shadowrun 4 20th Anniversary edition rules. It will be a fantasy game using elements of Earthdawn's setting. Date and time will be dictated by players' schedules. Location also TBD.
General Background:
You're in a kingdom. I am in the process of defining it. Assume it's something very similar to Throal from Earthdawn. Humans, orks, elves, dwarves and trolls are represented in the kingdom. Orks used to be slaves across many kingdoms and may suffer social modifiers. Trolls are feared in the way Viking raiders were feared in the Middle Ages. If you wish to play a non-standard race out of the Shadowrun Companion, run it by me. I'll need a full backstory.
Your characters have just graduated from the King's Academy. Age is negotiable and not really relevant. Training was two years. Your job will be as Imperial Auditors. Imperial Auditors are public officials who dispense the King's Justice, solve problems, investigate crimes, gather intelligence, collect taxes, backup other government officials, deliver messages, and act as general troubleshooters. Your characters will have a badge, support system, and writ of Authority. They will receive a good salary and expense account (expect to be audited...). Imperial Auditors travel in groups since the world is a dangerous place.
Magic IS technology. Adepts are common (at least 33%); mages less so (assume 10-15% of the general popluation with higher percentages running along family lines). Magic items are also common and have stories that lead to adventures (ala Earthdawn's system for magic items).
Assume there will be combat. The characters were trained for it. Characters who are not functional in combat will experience negative modifiers such as maiming, dismemberment, and death.
More details on character generation and background as people sign up.
