Draco18s
Not for another hundred years.

Think about it.

(Why not celebrate? Take off your shirt.)

Hey! That's in 4 minutes! Or, 12 hours and 4 minutes if you use the 24 hour clock. I can doff my shirt twice!

Not as cool as 11/11/11 11:11:11 (but much less scary than 13/13/13 13:13:13!)

True dat.
(Speaking of which, there are two Friday the 13ths next year; while not 13/13/13, they are 9/13/13 and 12/13/13)

Numbers add up symmetrically all the time, all over the place.
Which makes the world constantly awesome I suppose.

I was going to get married on 9/10/11, but sadly we had to reschedule it to 9/16/11.

Since my birthday is 11/11 I've always claimed that numbers lining up is "my thing" even though it happens to everybody.

Mesoamerican (like Maya, Aztec, etc.) calendar geeks had more opportunity for such fun. Multiple calendars intersecting in weird ways all through the years.

So, was that June 7th in the US or July 6th in Europe? Either way, I was 36 ... and didn't notice.

I seem to remember having a silly conversation with my friends about it, but school had just ended for the year and we were more interested in talking about all the fun we were gonna have for the next several months.

Either I was sleeping or raising hell in class. Depends on if it is 0123 or 1:23 PM.

Given that my dad doesn't believe in magic, and my mother is a voodoo practitioner...

Unlikely.

Faeries steal his stuff once in a while, ransom it (for milk), then grow bored, and give it back.

I'm not even joking.

Several years ago a watch he'd gotten as a present from a former boss went missing. Best account at the time figured it must have accidentally fallen off the counter and into the trash (trashcans were relocated to avoid this in the future). One year later I'm cleaning off the dining room table for Thanksgiving dinner, and inside the centerpiece I found the watch.

Assuming that it was one of the four of us (and not the cats or dog), it would have had to have been my sister, but she swears up and down she didn't touch it. It also would have been unlike her, as a) it wasn't anything she was interested in b) she's not a practical joker and c) it's never happened before or since.

I had a poltergeist that ended up inhabiting a rubber human skull from Halloween. I named him Bob. He did weird things like that too. For example, one night I put him in a bag before I went to sleep and in the morning he was out of the bag propped up so the eye sockets were staring at me. It was not possible for anyone to have tampered with it without me knowing either.

One of my friends was staying with me for some time and he didn't like Bob. Bob's usual place was on my PC monitor, facing the user. Aforementioned friend would always turn Bob around to not look at him, and invariably within a couple hours he was facing the friend again. Once he ended up turning himself back around upside-down.

Now that I'm Christian I have very different beliefs of what all of that was/is now, however. Sidhe included.

EDIT: Oh yeah. A number of years ago I sicked Bob on my father (before we reconciled). One day, my brother was on the other side of the living room from a plate on the mantle that fell off - Bob's doing. My brother got in trouble for breaking the plate.

Also, I named the poltergeist-skull Bob in 2003 or 2004, far before I started reading the Dresden Files.

I just happen to enjoy folklore, mythology and occultism... Wanted to get a degree in Occultism when I was younger, just so I could call myself witch doctor smile.gif
Rubber reacts to heat, something to bear in mind.
Wasn't Bob the tree on that Ghouls head?
