So holy hell. Origins was amazing. Simply amazing.
We had almost 50ish games scheduled for the show, all sold out. We planned for a little bit of possible overflow, intending to avoid turning any players away.
And we ended up running double that. 100 or so events. Nearly 700 players. More than twice the number of players we had at last years show, and nearly as many as we got at Gen Con last year.
Holy crap.
The Catalyst Demo Team stepped up to the plate in a HUGE way and knocked it out of the park. The GMs went above and beyond, running 30 and 40 or more hours of events for the players. Huge round of applause and thanks to them for making this show amazing and for not turning away a single player, no matter how swamped we were.
And a huge thank you to everyone who showed up to play. You guys rocked, and were patient and understanding as we stumbled through the learning curve of a new edition, especially considering we didn't even have books for half the show. Feedback was great and everyone seemed to have a great time, so that is awesome. Thank you for coming out.
Just tremendous. Really.
If you're interested in checking out some live podcast reports from the game room floor, hit up http://criticalglitch.com/ as the guys did some interviews and recording from the Origins event room, and they talk about the games and Shadowrun 5, and get some on the spot interviews with myself, Jason Hardy, and some of the GMs and Players who were in attendance. Some fun stuff.
