Edit: Tiger

The tiger is regarded as a symbol of courage, fearlessness, and protection in many cultures.
His followers trust their first reaction and own intuition at first, before they consider a second opinion.
Tiger acts impressive, quickly and with no fear. He is power incarnate and stands up straight if he picked the wrong decision.
Weather he sneaks, kills, fights or leads tiger always trys hard and thinks he is most qualified to do so.

Advantages:
All: +2 dice to composure tests and resist intimidation or fear (incl. spells and critterpowers)
Magician: +2 dice for spells, preparations, and spell rituals of combat category
Adept: Free traceless walk or one free level of combat sense (pick one)

Disadvantages:
Tiger has a certain way of doing things, and he does not invite debate.
Tiger magicians must make a Willpower + Charisma (3) Test to follow advice or orders that are not their own.
Also they must make a Charisma + Willpower (3) Test to abandon a planned course of action in favor of a new one (from someone other than themselfes).
If he fails, he must endeavor to continue with his original plan, even if it means going on alone.

Hi Folks,

i was thinking about Mentor Spirit Tiger, or rather Amur Tiger for russian/ yakut shamans. I could not find anything in actual books (sr3/ sr4/ sr5) only some sort of crappy idea from the internet wich is definetly not what i am looking for, but i will put it in here as it could be used as inspiration.

QUOTE
Tiger
Type: Wilderness

Characteristics: Tiger is power incarnate. He sneaks up on his
prey and kills them with such force as to be totally
devastating. He takes crap from nobody. Trifle with him at your
own risk.

Favored Environment: Jungle, Plains (prairie) (rare)

Advantages: +4 dice to combat spells. +1 dice to illusion
spells. +1 dice for conjuring forest (jungle) spirits. Hand Razors (any type) cost NO
essence!!! Spurs cost 1/2!

Disadvantages: Tiger takes no prisoners and is ferocious on an
attack. After he attacks an opponent, the tiger must make a
willpower test with a target number of 4 to break off combat.
Ignore if the tiger has more then light wounds. He must also
make a willpower test with a target number of 3 whenever he
wants to use less then devastating force (including trying to
incapacitate an opponent). If he fails, he must continue
attacking with full force until his next action. Tiger is also a
hard totem to get. A character who wants to be tiger must assign
4 points to strength, 3 to intelligence, 3 to willpower, 4 to
body, and 4 to quickness during character creation.

Also i have found something on animal totem tiger in general, with no connection to SR. But i think this is kind of useful.

Animal Totem: Tiger

Its going to be SR5, so this will be the structure for the mentor spirit;

Amur Tiger

Magician: +2 dice for spells, preparations, and spell rituals of one spell category/ +2 dice for summoning one spirit type

I hope you guys have some ideas. Thanks in advance for your efforts.

Pretty good overall.

Just one nitpick if you are going to use the disadvantage text above:

QUOTE

fair enough, he is gung ho
QUOTE
Ignore (bolding mine) if the tiger has more then light wounds.

So he is this big bad ass take no prisoner tough guy until he gets a scratch back and then can just call it off?

Yeah, there is a name for that. Another name for a cat I suppose though not as nice or polite.....

That needs to be tweaked just a bit.

Not saying he has to be suicidal, but lets say we change target number thing to threshold, so in combat he has to do a willpower roll with a threshold of 4 to break off combat, pretty tough to do but hey it's a totem thing. Maybe a bit too steep, but we can tweak this around a bit, but you get the general idea.

But maybe we can also apply a modifier to the threshold equal to the wound modifier -1 so if lightly wounded the threshold is still 4 (1-1=0 adjustment), if moderately wounded it drops to 3 (2-1= -1 to threshold) and so on...

Or if you want a little easier, just use wound modifier without the -1. So light would be threshold 3 and so on...

just a thought.

Agreed. I would say ignore if the Shaman has a severe wound. ANYTHING less, then I would say the tiger shaman goes berserk... in other words, if you hurt him he just becomes that more pissed off. THAT would pay for the hand razors.

Why not use "Cat"? It seems to cover a lot of what you'd want from a Tiger Shaman. AFAIK their hunting styles aren't significantly different; both rely on stealth, overwhelming force, and playing with their food.

Indeed

More or less, use "Shark" from SR5 and use either the disadvantage from "Wolf"...
or the one of "Lion" in SR4:

QUOTE
Lion magicians refuse to back down
from challenges. A Lion magician must make a Willpower +
Charisma (3) Test to forgive a slight, back down from a fight,
or refuse a challenge.

And you're good.

PS: I know that the choice between the Adept bonuses is unbalanced, but since i think that traceless walk cost/ benefit is a rip-off it seems okay (i mean, look at raven).

Would Street Magic for the 4th ed. be a good source of material? there were plenty of spirit examples in there.
I guess it's the task of converting to 5th ed. afterwords...

EDIT:

Already been sugggested. The examples from previous editions...
