Actually, my spectacular failure for cyber eyes is for them to display continuous and awkward porn.

That seems about right - we all know that there'd be at least some deckers doing this.

Three ways to blind a person, after all - darkness, light, and excessive input.

I'm sorry, I saw a rule 34 of Liz from The Magic School Bus today.
I laughed.
I am not sure there is such a thing as awkward porn any more.

In my defense (okay, in my begging to not be shamed. There really is no defense here) It's part of my way to keep the snap-crackle-pop bricking and not, you know, risk killing people instantly. I just felt that term spectacular had not been properly exercised in terms of what the character would deal with, as opposed to onlookers.

Now I want some cybereyes. And someone to brick them.

Okay, this is what I came up with (based on Jack's earlier suggestion). This is not supposed to replace RAW decking, but it is for use when no one wants to spend the time to do a real decking session.

SR5 Speed Hacking Alternate

If a device can be visually seen it is automatically spotted in the Matrix.

Attacker (Hacker) Rolls: Skill + Attribute (+2 for Hot Sim, -2 for AR, - Noise) [Deck Device Rating]
Defender Rolls (Device): Rating x2
Defender Rolls (Host): Host Rating
Defender Rolls (Hacker): Skill + Attribute (+2 for Hot Sim, -2 for AR)

For non-combat situations:
Can manipulate one file or basic device per net hit
If manipulating live-feed audio or video, can manipulate 3 seconds per net hit

For combat situations:
One net hit causes a -2 DP the next time the device is used
Two net hits causes the device to reboot, becoming inoperable until the end of the following turn
Three (or more) net hits bricks the device

In all cases, the Attacker resists Matrix Damage using Deck Device Rating x2 the amount of damage varies:
If the Attacker scored any net hits, the damage is Defender’s hits divided by two, rounded down.
If the Attacker scored hits but no net hits, the damage is the Defender’s hits.
If the Attacker scored no hits at all, the damage is the Defender’s hits plus the Attacker is dumped and must resist dumpshock (if in VR)

If the Attacker’s deck is bricked, the attacker is immediately dumped and suffers dumpshock (if in VR).

Standard rules apply for resisting dumpshock.
