Full Version: Official Shadowrun Website Gone?
One of the stables of that page (aside from the high-pitched bullying of anyone who's not a fanboi of CGL) is the frequent outages; whether it's hacked or someone failed to pay a fee to keep it up, I don't know - but it's not unusual to see it down for a few days at a time.

Well, Catalyst Game Labs actually links https://www.shadowrunsixthworld.com/ as "the" Shadowrun site and not https://www.shadowruntabletop.com/.
So it might just as well be that this particular URL and its associated top-level domain was finally abandonned just like https://www.shadowrunrpg.com at the end of 2023

The "official" forums have moved over to https://jackpoint.live/.
Luckily @Beta heard it mentioned on the Catalyst Discord server, otherwise I wouldn't have known either.
Everything is there, and your login should still work. I haven't noticed any changes in functionality other than the updated URL.

Sounds like someone in charge needs to be advertising / announcing / promoting such migrations more conspicuously or setting up overt redirections from the deprecating host six months before they switch it off. Even just putting a thread in our forum here wouldn't go amiss, given how long this has been the bastion of SR enthusiasts on both ends of the paycheque, and freelancers as well!

...which is of course a really bad idea. Not just for archival purposes, but because it's a really bad luck if some seedy domain grabber is sitting on the domain bearing your name and still linked in thousands of places as the official website.
Coming back to Shadowrun after, well, an Age, with a few young runners of my own. Thought I'd start with a version hip with these Gen Z folks so bought the quickstart. Boy does this compound the 'living in a cyberpunk future'. No sample characters for 'new' players/GMs (and Missions characters are a touch complicated).
Edit: Realized which are the four sample characters. So-so on them. Seems like Reddit has a great sampling of 5e characters I'll be using instead.
