The Rabbi, a mundane dwarf named Quam Goldstein, was a popular activist and Metahuman Alliance leader who preached and lead marches in San Francisco -basically founding the idea of using human supporters as buffers between Protectorate forces and protesting Metas. Arrested in a raid against his home in Halferville, the Rabbi was immediately sent to the newly built Sunnyvale Camp along with other suspected Metahuman terrorists.
An agent for the MA (Metahuman Alliance) working inside MCT (Mitsuhama Computer Technologies) heard that the Rabbi was scheduled for an experimental mindwipe that would record his memories while it erased them in three weeks once that camp's facility was fully functioning and secure. The Rabbi has some secure information, and his rescue would be a huge blow to Protectorate credibility as they claimed the suspected terrorists died in a suicide bombing by fellow conspirators before they went to trial.
In reality, the agent had been discovered months earlier by MCT security and allowed to overhear the discussion. The Rabbi's mind was altered upon arrival in the camp as all the equipment had been secretly in place because MCT used it as a
safehouse before the Protectorate takeover. The guards are ordered to engage protagonists attempting to free the Rabbi but to allow them eventual escape -possibly using the terrorists altered with the Rabbi to aid the protagonists in such an escape.
Clues to the double cross, that the runners need not discover -or inform the Alliance Johnson should they do so- would include:
Facilities appear completed
Separation between Rabbi/original prisoners and others prisoners
Protectorate guards using non-lethal weapons
Rabbi passive (though helpful)
