Hmm...I'm interested in playing, but until January, I won't have the gas money to make trips to Atlanta. (It's an hour and a half to two hour trip for me)

D'OH. And I was just there in September/October....

If you were at DragonCon, you probably met him.
Nothing's definite as of yet, Whiz - where are you coming from?
Sorry to hear it Morgan - if you come back through, we'll see about setting up a meet.

Coming from Oxford, Alabama. And I was at Dragon*Con. Playing...Whizbang.

Email received - I should have an answer in a day or two.
You probably met the GM, Whiz - I think he spent all of DragonCon in, on or near the gaming tables.

hmm...the guy with the red beard and the twitchy guy are the most memorable of the GMs I recall.

Hrm, those sounds familiar... Then again I know a few of the locals from my High School, and friendly local stores...
Siege
Dec 1 2004, 01:56 AM
He was neither twitchy, nor redheaded - but tall, like 6'4 tall with a pony tail and glasses.
And really, "twitchy" could be used to describe almost any gamer after a weekend of caffiene, no sleep and far too much to do.

The north side of town - Dunwoody.
Near 400 and 285.

Hmm... too bad my old shadowrun group don't game anymore, otherwise I'd refer y'all to them.

I'll prod the GM to reply to your email - he's usually pretty good about things like that, but work has been hectic lately.

Damn. I live in Dallas. Driving that far costs too much. If it was somewhere closer, like Kennesaw or Acworth, I could meet you halfway.

<--- The GM/Friend that Seige is talking about. I still cruise the boards here on occassion. I did reply to one email that was forwarded to me from Seige but I can't remember who it was going to. Figured I would post so that I could drop my name in the thread in case somebody wants to send me a message.
As for where to game at? I am pretty open for where to go and game just need either a group to join or a group to GM for.

Douglasville would be a nice halfway point for me.

Well, I'm familiar with Douglasville, but I'm unaware of any FLGS there.

My Favorite Not-so Local Gaming Store is in the Douglasville mall. There just isn't much in the way of gaming out this way

Close, Freindly Local Gaming Store
Wasn't aware of one in the Mall, then again. i don't go to the mall there.

Atlanta has several nice game stores at least. I hit Sword of the Phoenix mostly. Then there is the chain called Titan Games and Comics which is a chain owned by Pat Henry (Yes the same Pat Henry that runs DragonCon), and then there is the War Room. All have thier own flavor of what to do there.
The War Room has tons of everything as they are a Hobby store, models, minitures, gaming tables etc. Titan Games and Comics is a bit different as they cater to the Comic, Collectable Card Games, a decent amount of RPG stuff, Anime, and some other trinkets.
Sword of the Phoenix is a legacy gaming store that doesn't have comics, they are dedicated to RPG's and board games, they also dable in a nice collection of war game mini's and other durable gmaes like Chess boards.

Oxford Comics in Buckhead also has a good selection of game materials.

Bah! It's a short drive from the intersection of Barrett Pkwy/Bells Ferry Rd to Blackwell Square. Dr. No's kicks ass!
Kennesaw is a good halfway point for me. So is Douglasville. So is Acworth.

*bump*
I just finished my move from one place to another and I thought I had some players lined up but it appears all of them got quiet. I am still intested in running a game just need players. If all else fails I wouldn't even mind being a player as well.
Anybody?

Well I am still trying to assemble something so would say that hopefully a game possibly every other weekend or *forbid* once a month might be a possible solution? Even with traveling involved might be worth it.
Tell me what you think.

I just need a schedule. My wife is wonderfully flexible on my gaming hours as she knows it's one of my few vices. (The others being WoW, Soda and sleep, usually in that order).
Weekend games on Sunday are possible, especially if it's bi-monthly or monthly though my current D&D group is in the process of self-destructing (2 players of 5 moving away will have that affect) so in a couple of onths my weekends will really open up and I could add the survivors to the SR group possibly. They were interested in the idea.
I can also play host for the game, as my apt. complex has a nice little business office with a parking lot and a meeting room that no one seems to use but me and some kids that do homework there. If/When my wife and I get into a house and get settled, that hosting situation may extend to the house, but that depends on a few things out of my direct control.

I'm in Clayton, GA, maybe 2 1/2 hours away. I'd be interested in hearing more details at least, if the groups not closed.

Saturday might be better here. I usually have that day off, whereas quite often I'm working on Sundays, and in the afternoon I'm too tired to do anything.
SimpleRunner
May 6 2005, 09:18 PM
Well so far:
Sicarius = Available for weekend, no time disclosed.
Whizbang = Saturday
Nikoli = Sunday with possible other players.
Location of the game may be best to host at GA Tech Student Center since Whiz would be coming from Alabama (Birmingham area), Nikoli and I are on the North side of Atlanta, and Sicarius from Clayton GA (Not sure exactly where that is but I am sure it is South of Atlanta)
Nikoli - Are Saturdays out of the question? And how many might migrate with you from your old game?
I would like a nice rounded group of 4-6 with 5 being the optimum number.
Nikoli
May 6 2005, 10:51 PM
I a few more weeks Saturday's might become a possibility.
Potentially 2 new players from the other group.
Do we have a Ga Tech student available to use that center?

May 6 2005, 11:25 PM
Have never needed one before to game there. Has always been a great place to game as they have a gaming community that plays ther on Weekends.

the city of Clayton is about 2:30 hours north of Atlanta, going down 985. I have no idea where the Ga Tech Student center is, but I'm sure I can find out.
