Full Version: Contemplating GMing relatively low level campaign
Dumpshock Forums > Discussion > Welcome to the Shadows
Sicarius
I'm considering gming a relatively low level campaign here. By generally low level, i mean characters just beginning their career as Shadowrunners. Not gangers, but not handing out 100 points of karma either.

If you would be interested, I'll tell you that I'm limited by my books. I have the 3rd ed, MITS and New Seattle. So this would be a good time for people who are actually fans of the Priority system to come out. But we can discuss that if there are edges/flaws you can't do without or somethng like that.

If i get at least 3 or 4 people who sound vaguely interested, I'll give a little plot idea, and start taking character concepts.
Toptomcat
I can dig it. I have quite a few possible concepts for something like this.
Mister Juan
*Raises hand*
Sicarius
alright. One more and I'll get started with the details.

gobogen
Sure. I'm in.
Musashi Forever
Sic,

Last night I put the finishing touches on a Face/Physad, I'd love to be in if you can make room for me.
Sicarius
consider room made.

Rather than have you guys base characters off the 'Run, I'd rather propose the run after the character sketches. (although a general idea is coming into focus) So go with what interests you, and rest assured a place can be found. Keep in mind that the idea is to be playing characters looking to "break into the big time." I'd also ask that more attention be paid to a character's motivations than his arsenal.

I urge back stories and details, gives me more to go on, character quirks and etc are also highly supported.

You can PM character sheets, or post them, whichever suits your fancy.

Glyph
I would be interested... I don't know how many players you're taking, but I have a character who would be good for a starting runner campaign.
Sicarius
Okay. We'll go with Toptomcat, Mister Juan, Gobogen, Musashi Forever, and Glyph.

Musashi Forever
Wow, this should work out pretty well, I based her off of the chick on the cover of First Run. cool.gif
Mister Juan
Alright; I'll start working on a character today and tomorrow.
Glyph
Ice Queen has been sent.

Another chick, eh. I smell catfight...lol! grinbig.gif

Sic,

Will 20 questions work for background? Or is that too much, or not enough?
gobogen
I'll go for a street shaman coming from a poor neighborhood whose not made a name for himself yet but wants to work on improving his rep in the shadows. Name will be Feather and is referring to a black feather he's always wearing around his neck.
Mister Juan
I've started working on a good ol Ork Street Sammie wink.gif I've never played a combat oriented character before, so it'll probably be out of the usual mold.

gobogen: where is your character from? My guy's an ex street thug who grew up in Puyallup... so there might be a way to draw a link between both PC if you'd like.
gobogen
Sounds good to me. Feather is the kind of guy who helps people out on the streets. The good guy and what not. He does that for free too. He's somewhat known from a bunch of people, so you could know him that way. Running is the way he found to actually make nuyens.
Sicarius
sure Mush. depending on how detailed you answer the questions. So long as they aren't cookie cutter, I don't mind how you go about fleshing them out.

Sicarius
Mister Juan and Glyph's characters are in and looking good.
