On the other hand . . Wait a second . .
OK, so this Troll is going as fast as possible on his Trollerskates while wielding his Trollbow.
And he decides to paint something red so it will go fasta! . .
Clue shooting something with a blood-stained arrow with an anchor-chain tied to it.
Basically, like water-skiing, only on the streets using hos Trollerskates and his Bow and a random car O.o

That's right, Seattle is like San Fran in their streets, eh?

That just made my car chase scenes more interesting, thank you!

I have to go watch "Bullitt" again.

The downtown downtown of Seattle is relatively flat, but once you get slightly out of the center you go straight up. It was crazy.

I've lived in a Valley in Northern Ontario, I know insane hills.

Moving to the Prairies, much different.

...Say what?

I lived in Seattle for twenty years, and the downtown area is all slopes. If there's any significant amount of flat land in Seattle, they probably put it in a museum somewhere. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sarcastic.gif) Even the areas they tried to artificially flatten are sloped and gently curved. Some of those hills are downright wicked. My sister lives on Queen Anne Hill, and the slopes you get on the east side are astounding. My ex was from Kansas City, and she was flabbergasted that anyone could live on a cliff face.

Downtown is decidedly *not* relatively flat, it is almost all steep hills and waterfront. Outside of downtown, everything is still hilly, it's just less steep. Gentle rolling hills is par for the course in most of the Seattle area.

Much more exciting car chases.

And a bigger issue for suspensions dealing with armored vehicles.

Actually, they did. I'm sure you've been to Pioneer Triangle Square and taken the tour.

Well, it's been a while, but I remember the downtown as slightly sloped, then a drop to the waterfront, then right up to the hills.

Snow Fox has got it right. It sounds like you saw the waterfront area, which is indeed slightly sloped right up until the hills. The problem is that the waterfront is only a few hundred feet across, before you have the huge hill climb (the part at Pike Place is the most famous). Pioneer square is indeed relatively sane, but things rapidly pick up as you head away from the core and into the Capitol Hill area.

Picture, top left. That's a parking garage near Pioneer Square. It's floors are roughly level.

Must've been, I was heavily medicated the last time I was there. My memory is likely compromised.

Oh, I have. My parents grew up in the Seattle area and my uncle works down the street from Pioneer Square.

areas like Queen Anne Hill are freaking intimidating and it is just asking for a car chase to go airborn ad into a lake.

Now I'm feeling homesick, and we only had a lake back home.

'Course, we also had a lot of muskeg. Think thick swamp.

I live in Shoreline, just north of Seattle. I go through downtown anytime I have to bus someplace. I'm used to walking from 4th to 1st on my way to the CSPC, and from 1st to 4th on the way back. Try it in winter - it's bracing ^_^

To put it another way, my doctor's office is on the 5th floor of Jefferson Tower (Swedish Medical Center Cherry Hill). If I get off at 15th & E Jefferson, I go up 5 floors. If I get off at 17th & E Jefferson, I go across a skybridge and up 3 floors.

I'm used to hills; I grew up on the bottom of a long dead-end hill. Also, I have very long legs.

Heheh, I think at speeds like we're talking, I'd have the character's AR notify him that his linked account has been auto-charged for a speeding violations, red light running, driving on a sidewalk, etc not to mention the attention it brings. n_n

Well, you know he isn't saying nice things as he thunders downhill towards the sea.

One mouthful of that stuff, and he's looking at a month in the nutrient tank getting his system flushed!

Finally got posting privileges! Thanks for the speed ideas guys, but I just got the rollerblades because they seemed fun. My primary concern is damage. How does this sound?
Rating 12 bow for 14 DV.
add Explosive arrows for +1 DV
15 Archery + Agility dice pool
+2 for Bow spec.
+2 for smartgun system.

15 total DV. 19 if called shot for max damage.
19 dice pool. 25 if edge is used.

Average modified damage before reduction is about 21 pts per initiative pass multiplied by 3 initiative passes per combat turn.

So if you don't mind me asking, why not get an elf with a sniper rifle and EX Explosive bullets?
That way you get
  • armor penetration.
  • additional armor penetration.
  • a higher natural max Agility.
  • 2 attacks per initiative pass.
  • extra points since you don't need to dump into strength.

Offhand, I would say the elf gets about 10 DV, with an average of 7 hits per roll, and enough AP to negate most armor rolls.
so thats (10+7)*2 = 34 damage before reduction.
All in all, 34 damage per pass, before or after reduction, and 3 initiative passes for 102 damage.

I just convinced myself to make a new character.
