Perfect timing on the thread Necromancy!

This is one of my favourite adventures. I have played it in every edition of SR and now It's getting its 4th edition outing. Yes it’s a dungeon crawl at its heart, but it’s got some great elements (the catalyst spray is genius). This time however I’m doing it a bit different and just using elements of it. I have already set the player characters up via Food Fight; this leads them into Dream Chipper. Among the chaos of Dream Chipper they find details of an abandoned extraction and decide to carry it out for themselves to discover who set them up in the first place. Except the DNA/DOA sewer/dungeon doesn’t lead to an Aztec facility it leads to the Renraku Arcology......Just in time for the shutdown!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I'm confused, though: are you playing in the 2050s, or an alternate timeline? Or is your Arcology just shutting down AGAIN?

Ignoring any official time line, but its 2050s for the purposes of the game I’m running (yes that has issues using 4ed rules). Basically I have a new group and I wanted them to experience what I consider the classics so its kind of a SR Montage (if that’s the correct word) of all the best bits to take them up to the newer stuff, all glued together with a plot of my own devising.

They have no knowledge of SR timeline so it’s working quite well so far, I have one veteran player so I’ve had to mix things up quite a bit so he can also enjoy it as a new experience. Basically because of the way I set the runners up at the start they are out for revenge, so rather than getting paid to investigate, each step they take themselves brings them closer to finding out who set them up in the first place and more importantly why.. The answer of course lies in the Archology which will conveniently shut down while they are inside. They will have two options. Delve deeper and discover what they have been searching for or abandon the archology before they become trapped and possibly never discover why they were set up.

wow I thought I was one of the only people who remembered that one. Even with 1st ed it needed to be jiggled a little otherwise it was much to like D&D with mahcine guns. Then again the idea of doing Vault of the Drow with a minigun is pretty good too.
