OK, so you progressed to Whiterun and the first dragon sighting but are unable to kill a spider? WTF have you been doing, intentionally dodged all side quests and combat?

No prob, post your perks as well.

In the meantime, quick advice:

First, get waypoints to all the holds. Easiest way to do this(and with the fewest cats) is to use the horse carriage available outside most towns. Its an investment you likely won't regret.

Second is to get a follower. If you're lucky they will take the heat for you, if your not at least they are doing extra damage. They also make decent mules.

Third, and you probably already know this, is save often and in multiple slots.

Fourth, pick an armor skill and stick to it. Armor, like weapon type, is a skill you don't want to diversify in(at least in the early and mid games).

Now I don't know if you're playing as a thief or assassin, but I would suggest not to neglect their questlines. The theives guild especially is a nice money maker in the early game, and not very difficult. As an argonian you start with a bonus to lockpicking and sneak that lend themselves well to these quests. And despite their names, the main questlines of these guilds don't necessarily require much stealth at all.

EDIT: More

Stay the F away from giants. You may have killed a dragon but these guys will turn you into a smear. If you REALLY want to lop off their toes while a low level, you can use the cowardly bridge tactic: Run under a bridge arch and fire arrows at em until you go cross eyed. You'll get em'. Eventually.

Ice wraiths are glass cannons. Stock up on frost resist.

You can never have too much carry weight.

Consider dual wielding. Sure you can't block, but you can tear through enemies with dual power attacks.

Dungeon delve! No cats in caves. They can have chaurus, though.

@ Draco

My suggestion is to remember to sneak when you go somewhere, untill you find an enemy. This serves multiple purposes. It reduces the range you are detected at, it earns up the skill, and by earning up the skill it levels you up. Add this to the fact that if you shoot your bow at something that cant see you, then you will get backstab damage, and when you have your stealth high enough (which doesnt take long) you get a higher bonus to dmg (x3 with a bow if memory serves). This lets you get in a damn good hit before they get to you.

p.s. remember to stop sneaking before you talk to someone! lol

and remember...once you get it...Keep Calm...and FUS ROH DAH!

-edit- oh, and sneaking around in towns is best, because every time someone looses sight of you it you get a tick on your skill (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Also. if you want to earn pickpocketing: steal from guards. They have arrows, which are very easy to steal.

QUOTE (almost normal @ Aug 16 2012, 12:29 AM) *
Personally, I see SR:O ripping out the SR universe and game engine where inconvenient to make the easiest, dumbest game to appeal to the most amount of people, and nothing I've seen has shown me otherwise. There would be no better time or place to talk about my thoughts on this then a Shadowrun Forum, in a thread about the game, when it's still relevant. Your agitation is unwarranted.

QUOTE (ShadowRun Online Kickstarter Page)
Cliffhanger's name isn't exactly linked to the SR franchise (yet), but many of us have been fans of the license for two decades. We are working with writers and artists of current and previous Shadowrun editions (such as Tom Dowd, Jason Hardy, Tigger and Raben AAS to name just a few) and will get the project reviewed by Jordan Weisman himself to make sure we do justice to the great setting. We are also working with our friends at Catalyst and Harebrained Schemes to bring together the various parts of Shadowrun by creating a plot spanning all our products.

Even if funding this via kickstarter wasn't explicitly to avoid publishers to make a game for fans as oppossed to something more marketable, how does support from the original creators of the game, the current line editor, and official tie-ins with the P&P game NOT show you otherwise?

Saying 'I think this is a bad idea for these reasons, and should not be backed' is one thing (I happen to agree with your generalisations about most kickstarter projects), but your opinion (specifically the one stated above) seems inexplicably based on what the last SR game (made in a different genre on a different platform by different people) was, and actually seems to actively ignore the information presented about the game and what cliffhanger has planned.

You can 'talk about your thoughts', but you are being obtuse, intentionally or otherwise, and agitation in response to that is absolutely warranted.

Except that they can't underprice the PC game. So the same game costs the same price, regardless of platform.

Is this really true in America(if your even from there) as at least in Europa console games are more expencive then PC games by quite a lot(relatively speaking)

Now to get them to spend the money that went over the 500k on a good community/board system . . like, for example, the one dumpshock uses ^^ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Personally I'm a fan of SMF, but IPBoard is fairly reasonable. vBulletin has some issues with end-user usability,* but still better than what's in use now.

*Has a tenancy to cache where the "jump to new post" link goes (for some users), so that it doesn't actually do what it says.

Maybe, rather than make a whole new forum for each game, we could have sub-forums here. You know, Shadowrun, Shadowrun Missions, Community Projects, Welcome to The Shadows, SRO, Shadowrun Returns, etc. It would sure be better for me anyway.

Would need being paid for and this here is an UNOFFICIAL Board . .
That's not the best of signs i am afraid . .
Furthermore, dumpshock has a manual registration, not automated processes.
That's why it's so nice and calm in here, and not that many noobs and bots around.

The main reason why Dumpshock is such a got so big and good is because back when it all started, the fans were interested in this kind of thing, while the makers of the game were not i think . .
And then the progenitors and finally dumpshock always were already there, when the makers started something.
So most people who were interested were already registered here and had no need to go enywhere else either.

Yes, yes, many professional malcontents here, the shadows seem to encourage it - but if you want the higher paying runs, gotta be a team player. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

---

I was thinking of something said earlier, I think Draco, about regretting half of his purchasing, even though they were on sale.

Well, SRO is going to be F2P, correct? So, does that reduce the possibility of regret?

Either F2P or the Guild Wars model, your choice.
