Just wondering that nobody mentioned toxin extractors and nephritic screen yet... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Incredibly important if you want to be able to drive home after gaming.

Internal commlink. Math SPU, tailored phermones, cybereyes with a laser range finder and smartlink, cyberears with select sound filter, MBW (if you play those kinds of games).

More than likely have a tac net in my commlink (for paintball and TTWG). Also if paintball is included:dermal sheathing or orthoskin.

Oh, I'd slap an agent onto the commlink, and an Attention Coprocessor would be nice so I could chat with my Virtual Girlfriend, play tabletop, and play the MMOs at the same time.

How much you guys want to bet that even Virtual Girlfriends would still be heavily against gaming with the guys? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)

Yeah, but you have to hit someone with the Shock in order for them to take notice. You can snap out the Spur and, hopefully, scare the person into not fighting at all.

Anyhow, this is Winnipeg, both would be considered "weapons" as far as the police are concerned when it comes to civilians. Equal in the eyes of the law.

I'm 100% certain that a taser and a knife are quite different where assault charges are concerned. Namely the addition of 'with a deadly weapon'.

As for implants, well, more or less what others have said. No need for eye mods though, which is good, because I get super freaked out about things getting near my eyes, so don't know that I'd do well getting my eyes replaced... then again, I'd be unconscious.

Think I'll start a general implants thread instead of gaming specific one, might be more interesting.

That's a sucker's bet, CR.

Yeah, well, the Mounties proved that a taser is a lethal weapon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)

And let's just not go there any longer.

I can see the reason for a showy weapon like spurs. Orthoskin is useful for surviving attacks from angry gamers. Half full 2 litter bottles of soda can hurt!

Move-by-wire - I'm already twitchy and in pain from a spinal injury, might as well get it replaced.
Cybereyes - Correction to 20/20 and other helpful mods without glasses or contacts? Sign me up.
Cyberears -Yes please, plus good for hearing over the crowded gaming hall.

Good for you.
MBW is perfect for twitch gaming skills.
Also, built in skillwires that allow me to play every game instantly.
Furthermore, a more or less auto pilot for my own body to do some stuff while i am still waking up late in the evening ^^

Have fun with the side effects. Seems to me that being better at Modern Warfare 2 isn't worth uncontrollable muscle tremors and long term neurological damage.

But, like always, your mileage may vary. Some people take Halo more seriously than others, heh.

They've almost fixed that 4th ed he'll be fine.

I would stick cyber in the eye and pray I awaken and take most of it as adept powers. I'd just rather have magic than cyber. If I had the choice I'd be a mystic adept over any thing else. They might be a bit below par in game but IRL that versatility is a huge plus.

I dunno if 4e not mentioning TLE really translates to fixing it or they just decided to remove the game mechanic as being too punitive for the scope of the game. Augmentation is horribly underwritten like many SR4 source books, but it does still mention MBW as being "sometimes debilitating to biological subjects" in addition to describing the muscle tremors so TLE still exists. It's just not quantified as rules anymore.

From the descriptions of TLE it just sounds horrible. The edginess and fatigue described of leaving wired reflexes on all the time is nothing compared to that. And WRs have on/off switches. MBW does not. So you get the seizures, muscle tremors, and the edginess with no ability to ever turn it off. No thanks, lol.

This only happened if you used the Cyber/Bioware Stress Level Rules.
And after those rules, nobody would play anything but an awakened . .
