Okay, terrorists birthday is the second-worst time of the year for me (carneval is worse!) so I normally hole up with a batch of DVD's and a bottle of Scotch.
This year it included (aside for the last half-batch of SeaQuest with Ironside) + Soylent Green + Logans Run + Colossus + The Bronx Soylent Green/Year 2020 is a classic and more Cyberpunk than 80+ percent of the novels claiming to be Cyberpunk. That's the classic "world going to hell" of SR1/2 Aside from using "The Bronx" as a template for the combat zones (After all SR has already stolen the dialogs), I found Logans Run and Colossus quite useful for an arcology sample, both for "normal" live and for "Deus" And I wish FASA had "borrowed" SeaQuest as a model for their Undersea habitats rather than Custeau. |

Soylent green was okay as a documentary on cyberpunk life, I suppose. Logan's run was pretty stupid though. I didn't get anything from it. I haven't seen the other two.
I've been using Netflix to wander through good cyberpunk movies. I've been sorely disappointed in most cases. Blade Runner is still all time #1, with a good, long gap before #2 (and I don't know what #2 is yet.) |

haha i hate to admit it, but Johnny Mneumonic. This thing is the tale of a runner, a courier, with gangers (lo-tecs) fighting the corps... people running from the Yak, and the coolest street doc ever, Henry fraggin Rollins! Not to mention the Street Sam girl with sumtin like wired reflexes. Its SR without the magic...
ps... ignore the dolphin part and make him celydyr ;-) ;-) |

The Net
Sneakers (one of the best runner teams I've seen in action to date) The Italian Job (Original 1960s version) Enemy of the State (just insert your favourtite Megacorp in place of the Government) Big Trouble in Little China (one of my all time faves) Telefon (already did a twisted version of this in a previous scenaro) |

The Net - yeah, great movie. And it has Sandra Bullock, so it's a great movie 8) Runners - With that actors, what can go wrong. Now, where can I get a Pinch... Big Trouble - Not exactly Cyberpunk. If you want Kurt Russel and Punk, well "If you can make it there, you'll make it anywhere" Telefon - I repeat Wladimir Pawlowitsch: "The forrest in his coolness..." |

There's always time for that thread... it keeps coming back like spam.
Oh, an interesting movie... King Kong. For the runners who are into big game hunting. Especially if you're trying to bring them back alive for the zoos. ;-) |

I'll go ahead and tack "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", if you have that sort of team.
